The piece romantically narrates various winter scenarios, ranging from wild snowstorms to the enduring beauty of frozen grasses and plants. I wrote this duo out of the joy that has lasted since childhood, about the magic of the first snow, and the fascination with the perceived stillness of nature in winter.
It is warmly dedicated to the Duo Allegria, specifically to my dear friend Matthias Well, and the pianist Lilian Akopova, who brought it to a wonderful premiere.
Das Stück erzählt auf romantische Weise verschiedene winterliche Szenarien zwischen wildem Schneegestöber und der verharrenden Schönheit gefrorener Gräser und Pflanzen. Das Duo schrieb ich aus der, seit Kindheit andauernden, Freude über die Magie des ersten Schnees, sowie der Faszination des gefühlten Stillstandes der Natur im Winter.
Gewidmet ist es herzlich dem Duo Allegria, namentlich meinem lieben Freund Matthias Well, und der Pianistin Lilian Akopova, die es zu einer wunderbaren Uraufführung brachten.
