Awesome review! I bought the Pace based on your original review as you went into the settings more-so than the other reviewers. I was looking for a device that displayed the KPH (actual, top & average) like a speedo, BUT F*cking NO ONE SHOWS THE POSSIBLE SPEEDO INFO, which i thought was weird ESPECIALLY on a device called the “Pace”!!!! Its like every reviewer thinks people ONLY run for exercise. Cycling is huge and there are thousands of “bike computers” which nearly all bike enthusiasts have & the main function is to show SPEED!!!!! Every fricken review vid skims through the “run” option only...uurgh sooo annoying!!!! At least you went through each sport option and settings (4 or 6 fields of info AND how to move them up or down)....thats what made me buy this device thanks to you - thank you🙏
Haha, thanks for the positive feedback Steve. I took a lot of heat for that for wasting everyone's time on excruciating details. I get the same thing when I show the watch faces on a watch. "Who cares?" most folks say. Well, as a result my reviews tend to be unapologetically long, and it really ticks most folks off. Glad to see someone appreciated the extra effort. You're right though, these days I just glance over the activities and sometime show one or two, but not the detail I did when I was innocent and green at doing this.

Question... and I assume you will only be able to answer this if you have your Pace on the latest firmware. Is it possible to set a WHITE background during an activity like a run? I've watched different videos by different people on different firmwares showing clear differences, but I can't tell whether that setting is available somewhere? A former Huami employee says that they think it is available (as it is on the Stratos and Stratos 3). Thanks Mr. Ticks!
Wow, I don't even have the Pace here anymore, let alone the latest firmware. Sorry, I can't help you on this one.
UPDATE 03/19 Over a year of use, I am still in love with my Amazfit Pace. I was able to get nice bands, and also to design my own watch face to my liking. It still amazes me how clearly the time can be read in direct sunlight, or even in regular light WITHOUT having to turn it on. And, it still lasts me up to 10 days (I only wear it a couple days a week, for dressing up--- I use a cheap watch band for everyday use). UPDATE 02/18 I've used this watch for 3 months, and I could cry because I really like it. I had a smart band that became a black ribbon whenever in bright light. This watch reads in any light or no light. And, it lasts me a week (I only set it for texts and calls, which are infrequent). For treadmill running, I place it above my ankle, under my sock, and I get the same count as the treadmill. I also set heartbeat on manual. And, a block mode (auto airplane) from 10pm to 7am. For under $100, it is beautiful, sturdy, has awesome faces, and great battery life. I am very, very happy. Thank you, Mr Tick, for your reviews.
ORIG 11/17 Sir, at 11min, 23sec of your video, I think in order to HEAR the playback, you have to use bluetooth earplugs/headphones, per another video I saw. I ordered one at Gearbest, during their 11.11 (annual Nov 11th) sale for 89.99, but am still waiting for it to arrive. PS, Yes, the Bluetooth works, as I wrote previously.
That could be true. I'm not as familiar with the OS on the PACE as I am on the Android watches. I'm not sure where on the PACE you would set up Bluetooth pairing. Please let me know if you get it to work when you get yours.
Got the watch today, 122017 (50 days after ordering from Gearbest...UGH). When I clicked the music play button, it asked for a bluetooth device. I synced my little speaker and once it synced, the player worked. PS, one needs to load songs onto to phone via USB (apparently you had done that).

I'd suggest you make a little chart of the features you like and put a check beside each watch if it's on your list or not, then really think about what you will use day to day. I like them both!
Now if I were picking, with my own criteria, like the edge-to-edge screen of the H2, the camera on the side, etc., I'd lean toward the H2, but that's the flavor of ice cream I want. Your cone might be different.
By the way, if you post under the DM368 or H2 video reviews, you might get responses from folks that own those watches. Posting here under the Amazfit Pace just annoys folks who are reading comments to learn about that watch. I'd move it to the right place, but Google won't let me. Just a thought for future comments you may want to leave.

Does it have any kind of accessibility for low vision or blind people? Full Android has Screenreader Talkback and zoom after I tap quickly three times my screen, Tizen OS i think has screenreader too, Android Wear has screenreader. Does this smartwatch has any of those or similar options?

Say I had Airpods and an iPhone, would the proper controls for podcasts, music/spotify all come up on this watch when i was using them on the phone? That freedom is kind of the killer app of the Watch for me, if this could do that it would be dope.
I've never heard of the controls automatically appearing on a smartwatch when you start playing music on a phone. Also, Bluetooth tethering is limited on Apple equipment, so keep checking. You'll find your answer somewhere, I'm sure.
I bought the amazfit bip. Its a perfect watch to track my runs minus all the nonsense and with excellent battery life.

Right now I think the Amazfit is the closest you're going to get to a nice round watch with a week long battery life. All the Android watches have short lives. As I understand it, the screen freezes (memory LCD technology) but a trickle update happens every minute to update the time (to the minute). If you have a face showing seconds or a stopwatch or something like that, it will freeze and then suddenly appear to update.

This is a fitness watch primarily and totally different than the KW88 Android watch. You can do many fitness related things with the PACE, but you can install Android apps and put a SIM card in the KW88 and make phone calls directly from the watch. I can't recommend either until you know what you plan to do with your watch.
SmartWatch Ticks I am looking for a decent smartwatch that supports a wide range of watchfaces and shows all notifications. Apps and sim card isn't deal breaker for me. Can't I call directly from Amazfit? BTW is Kingwear K88 a good built smartwatch? Both are priced same in my country.

This compares nicely with the Garmin vivoactive HR, and I like the round design.

How do I turn off the always on screen display ? It's kinda annoying especially when it's dark. I would rather push the button or even tap on it to awake it up.

I don't think so. It always goes into idle for me. Saves power that way I guess.

First, you definitely want to update your firmware. Second, it is natively in metric. I had to switch it to Imperial, so you should have metric units out of the box!
I have seen many reviews of this watch. No one seems to point out that the Amazfit App only displays Sports Activites in Metric. This was a big disappointment for me when I bought the watch. Can I respectfully ask why this was not mentioned in the review?
Coincidentally, an update to the app was issued yesterday. Like they read my mind, the app now dispays Imperial! YAY!

cant find anyone that has tested this: can you use a HRM chest strap with this? I want accurate heart rate but want to see it in the watch not in the phone.
I know apple watch can do this, but cant find a confirmation amazfit can.

Great to hear. It's lasted more than most, and is the most regularly updated smartwatch I've ever come across. It does way more now than when it first started. The only other one for which the company really stands behind and keeps improving is Ticwear's Ticwatch 2, another excellent, but completely different, smartwatch.

This is my first time ever to purchase items from this site. I normally order from alliexpress.com and get my stuff on time every time. Gearbest.com, on the other hand is a well known site for online purchasing with good reputation. I do not have any reluctance to order from them. They have return policy on site.
Gearbest is one of the major sites handling all kinds of electronics. As with any Chinese company, they do business differently than other countries. If you receive a broken watch, then, typically, you'll be offered a partial refund for problems, but you need to contact them within a couple of days of receiving the watch. After that, good luck. I'm not talking Gearbest specifically, but all of them.
The prices are really cheap, so what you give up is easy returns. You see, the higher priced brands build into their pricing an extra surcharge which they pass to everybody to offset the refunds and returns. There's no margin for that from China. If you could get the same $70 China watch for $120 at your local Macy's or Target, then take it back in a month for a full no questions asked refund, then you'd be getting the same value for your money. Believe it or not, with most places that offer easy refunds, you're paying an insurance policy premium added to the price of each item for that guarantee. Think about it. In the end, they need to make money, and if they eat the cost of refunds, they absolutely have to pass that back on to the costumers through higher prices, otherwise no profit.
China works on practically zero markup. Refunding the cost of one watch might equal the profit they would have made on selling 100 of them. So they are going to argue (excuse me...barter) with you to take, say, $15 refund on your $70 broken watch. Not happy? How about $45? Neither of you want to pay $50 to send it back, so they want to give you a little money and have you keep the broken watch. I've probably received close to 200 watches, and I've had three arrive broken, and five others die within a year. That's about a 3.5% defective rate. Not bad, really.
Now remember, you can ONLY get the watches I review here from China (usually). You may have a bit more leverage if you can buy through Amazon depending if it is viewed as a 3rd party seller or an Amazon Prime retailer (you'll see "fulfilled by Amazon" in that case). Of course, it will cost more (I wonder why?), but you might have a better chance at a full refund.
There, International Business 101 course abbreviated. You get what you pay for, and you can't pay for insurance on a broken watch built into their pricing when you buy from China. Not how they do business.

Instead of making pace 2, I wish amazfit would make a pace for women or smaller wrists.
Check the Amazfit Bip if you like Amazfit products. Not as full as a Pace, but smaller in size.
@@SWT In some ways the Bip is better than the Pace. (I own both.) But the PAce definitely has a more "grownup" feel. The ceramic bezel feels rich and beautiful. The Bip's plastic feels a little cheap.

Mr ticks, I need an android standalone smart watch with a round face, at least 8 hours of battery life and at least 1gb ram and 16gb rom. Which one should I go for?
You might squeeze 8 hours out of any of them if you employ some memory conservation practices. So any of the 1GB/16GB watches I've reviewed will work. Often the screen eats the most power, so you might get better battery life out of a watch with a smaller screen and 360x360 pixels vs the larger 1.39 inch 400x400 screens. I hear No.1 is about to release their next memory bump up to the D5 which has always been a winning watch. I should be reviewing one as soon as it is out.
I will be buying one in 1 or 2 days. Which is the most stylish one (thin bezel and the watch should not be fat). Or better, which one would you recommend?
I cannot recommend as there are too many types of watches. It would be like asking me what shoes to recommend. I don't know if you want dress shoes or beach shoes! These reviews are for you to watch and decide what watch is right for you.

Joaquin Arosemena i have this watch four months now. I turn it off every night when i go to sleep and turn it on first thing in the morning. It takes easy five days to need charge.
I have this watch and it is very good, though there is one annoyance that I have found with the GPS. I also have an old Garmin forerunner 25 watch and I find the speed of the GPS connection much better on the Garmin. So, when I set off on a run the Garmin has picked up the GPS signal before I've left the house, whilst the Amazfit still hasn't locked on until I'm about 0.5k from home. Also, I prefer the Garmin phone app as it seems to have more data than the Amazfit one and I also prefer the presentation of the data (I'm on IOS) If you are thinking of purchasing it might be a good idea to check out reviews (like this one!) that look at the app in detail.

I really like the idea of smartwatches, but I don't care for the fitness site. I'd like to have one to sync with my calendar or to use as a personal assistent, for quick searchs and stuff. I'd like something like the pace or the ticwatch for the stability and battery life, but they lack the stand alone side that I'd like.

It looks like the Amazfit Bip is the next one, but it's a much smaller and more limited product. I think they will continue to improve the software for the PACE rather than replace it with new hardware. I haven't heard of anything else new.

Wow, it's so small I didn't notice it. I had to pick it up to verify it was there as I didn't even see it! But you're right, it has one. I'd call it low pressure rather than flat though. ;)
Amazfit Pace purchased based on your reviews :-) For me it is more an upgrade of a sports watch. My son has the iwatch series 3 and for me that is more of a smartwatch (many more apps) but also too expensive. At the amazfit you can not add extra apps like Facebook, instagram or shazam, or am I wrong ?? Also don't recieve message from my phone on the amazfit :-( answering phone i think that wil only work when using bleuthoot ears ? Now for myself the amazfit Pace is more than enough I use for cycling,running and also fun to see how much I slept. Only the heartrate when cycling outside is not really accurate when I'm in the house that is correct but with the iwatch has the same problem. When watching the average heartbeat after the sport this is about right. Have been able to do with the battery for 2 days and then there was 18% left over (working with gps for 4 hours) Sorry for my English but i am from Belgium and speak dutch
Thanks for the report Sam. Good information. I don't think you can download apps to the Pace like you can to an Android watch. Hopefully the watches support your language as well.

That would be too much to try and keep up with. I'm constantly updating coupons from each of the many partners on many different watches. In this case, I think the coupon will remain the same, it's just that they sell out of the quantity they have available. Try again around 11/12 or 11/13 as I think they will release some more for our RUclips use. You apply the coupon at checkout. If it's active and there's a unit in stock seaside for the coupon price, your final price will update to the coupon price. If they are all sold out, the final price won't change. Just don't finish the purchase and try again the next day. I don't even know when they replenish inventory. You just have to keep trying, or be willing to pay the higher price. Sorry, best I can do.

It is a fitness watch, not a watch for pictures. You might be able to create a custom watch face using one of your pictures, but the watch doesn't have a Gallery for showing pictures like on your phone.

Look toward the end of the video where I show this one beside a smaller square watch. That will give you an idea. I also show the measurements, and you can cut a circle out of cardboard and tape it on your arm, then look in the mirror to get an idea of the size.

Benito Espinosa well I have an amazfit oace and I love it. The option to change straps is great, since they cost like a dollar on ebay. The gps was amazing 4 months ago and now it's even better. With average use,2 hour of sports mode use per day (with music) and nonstop tethering, you can get a solid 72 hours put of the battery. Hope this helps

Hello, can someone tell me how i can get 11 days battery life? With connected smartphone or without? What is the battery life in days for a normal use, push notifications, no GPS and not always on display? Is there a function integration when i lift up my hand then the display goes on?
You should do pretty good with the Amazfit PACE because of the low power screen technology. You're not going to get 11 days from any watch that has to light up the screen to see it. Check this one and the SMA-TIME which gets 30 days easily. Same screen technology. Also, check out the next video I put up. It's in the same 'class' as these.

I think why i get it faster then you is i come from germany. I also advised to make Reviews but unfortunately have No Time to make Reviews. I won't really know about the Amazfit 2 until I can get my hands on one, but I'll look for "Stratos". Once one of my partners has one, even on preorder, I'll request it for review. I know they have done a lot of work on the firmware for the PACE, adding features and squashing bugs. If their process is similar for new devices, you may get more of a 'beta' experience at first with weekly updates for a year. You may do better with the original PACE for now, and think of upgrading in 2019.

Actually, you can sideload an apk known as "watch droid assistant/phone" from Lumatic Software. With this app you can see all past notifications (not only the title, but also the full content) and configure predefined answers. You can also start a phone call (start via watch, talk/listen through mobile ). I've read that the CN firmware has already some early-stage voice implementation (it has a microphone on its left side). This makes future software/apps development interesting and increases the watch's potential.

....at 11min, 23sec of your video, I think in order to HEAR the playback, you have to use bluetooth earplugs/headphones, per another video I saw. I ordered one at Gearbest, during their 11.11 (annual Nov 11th) sale for 89.99, but am still waiting for it to arrive.

Yea, it's a pain to align the watch with the dock. It should have some sort of alignment pin or guide. I'm always pressing it down just a bitt off center and, of course, it doesn't charge. At least it lights up to tell you when it is connected. That's good.

Watch is crap. After last update and even before that I am unable to connect to app. It takes 10 20 times and if I’m lucky it connects. The app has little useable info. Don’t waste your money.

In the first 15 minutes of review watch lost over 5% of the power. Far to much for energy efficient watch.
Remember, the video is edited from separate segments, so 15 minutes of finished video may be more than 15 minutes of actual watch "on" time. A better gauge would be to make not of the time on the watch when it is first turned on and the time on the watch 15 minutes into the video. If it's and entirely different date, then I most likely recorded over different days and have no idea if I charged between days or not.
