The ending of the movie always makes me cry. As well as the credits. I cry. And I'm a 25 y/o guy who has a job, has variety of hobbies, does workout on a daily basis and has a loving family. Which is why it hits so much. For someone who's been dealing with depression for majority of my life up until now, this hits different, because it's basically trying to say that no matter how low we think of ourselves at some moments, there are people who will love us for what we are, we mean the world to them, and we have our place and purpose in this world. Our parents made us exactly who we were supposed to become.

While story is average at best and nothing in particular to write home about, the care and enthusiasm of the director, cast and crew comes through, the colors were vibrant and ends on a hopeful optimistic note, enduring it to audiences as they leave the cinema and a catchy song as people are leaving. The blueprint of a 2020s DC movie should be.

The word that I came away with walking out of the theater after watching Aquaman was "refreshing". It was just so refreshing to see a superhero movie which didn't need to kill swathes of people to show the stakes, that didn't need to kill beloved characters to raise emotions, that let a romance between two characters grow organically, that had characters act like rational, real people, that let the female characters have just as much screen time and character moments as the male characters, and that actually showed that not everything can be solved by punching people! I went into Aquaman unsure how good it would be and went out of it loving it to pieces. It's now one of my favourite movies ever and my second favourite superhero movie, right after Black Panther. :D

T'Challa is working to protect his home and defeat a usurper who wants to use his people's power to destroy the world while Arthur has to prove himself to a people who intrinsically hate him and prove that peace between these two peoples is possible. In a way, they're the inverse of one another. Plus, Arthur is the usurper in his story. T'Challa's is the story of a king reclaiming his throne while Arthur is more of a chosen one narrative. I found Black Panther was more of a politicial/sci-fi drama while Aquaman actually had more of a fairytale feel which I adored.

It's the type of song you'd hear in 90's Action films. That poppy love ballad that would get radio play and a music video on MTV for an extra bit of advertising. So in that respect, it fits. And it fits very well.

The lyrics really focuses on Mera's perception of Arthur. I mean "All the tides against you, you never thought you are good for anyone, you can say I am wrong and turn against me but Im here to stay". Its like they took the lyrics right out of the dialogues of Mera and Arthur.

The word that I came away with walking out of the theater after watching Aquaman was "refreshing". It was just so refreshing to see a superhero movie which didn't need to kill swathes of people to show the stakes, that didn't need to kill beloved characters to raise emotions, that let a romance between two characters grow organically, that had characters act like rational, real people, that let the female characters have just as much screen time and character moments as the male characters, and that actually showed that not everything can be solved by punching people! I went into Aquaman unsure how good it would be and went out of it loving it to pieces. It's now one of my favourite movies ever and my second favourite superhero movie, right after Black Panther. :D

T'Challa is working to protect his home and defeat a usurper who wants to use his people's power to destroy the world while Arthur has to prove himself to a people who intrinsically hate him and prove that peace between these two peoples is possible. In a way, they're the inverse of one another. Plus, Arthur is the usurper in his story. T'Challa's is the story of a king reclaiming his throne while Arthur is more of a chosen one narrative. I found Black Panther was more of a politicial/sci-fi drama while Aquaman actually had more of a fairytale feel which I adored.
I enjoyed the movie but there is a actually a loads of unnamed characters dying in that film.
@@blix1ms0ns I suppose that's true, but it's not being pushed in our face. The movie isn't shoving it in our face just how many people are dying and how horribly their deaths are. The movie has the confidence that the audience will understand the stakes and the consequences without having to grovel in it.

I just watched the movie and I DID NOT except the credit song to be this deep or to have this type of vibe, I was expecting rock or something else but not this! It's the type of song you'd hear in 90's Action films. That poppy love ballad that would get radio play and a music video on MTV for an extra bit of advertising. So in that respect, it fits. And it fits very well.
