I really recommend watching the older Asterix animated movies, especially if you're planning to visit the park. They're really funny, entertaining and you can appreciate the theming even more
FYI, Le Grand Splatch has been completely rethemed for the 2024 season and is now called La Revanche des Pirates (The Pirates’s Revenge), and it features a new themed queue line and many statues and effects as well as audio, telling the story of how the well-known crew of pirates often present in the Asterix comics is trying to sink your boat using traps, but they keep failing.
I'm a French speaker and I must say your French is actually impressive! Quick tip: when you have words with "oi" in them (such as "gaulois"), you pronounce the "oi" like you would pronounce "wah" in English (so "gaulois" would be "gaul-wah"). Thank you for the FANTASTIC content, as always! I'm definitely putting Parc Astérix on my list! Cheers from Switzerland!
The Asterix comic franchise is big in Europe and huge in France. If you know a little bit about the Asterix world it's much easier to appreciate the theming. But I think it's still very nice without background knowledge.
For me even the best parc in Europe. I love the Asterix comics and I am a Coaster thrill Fan. For me the most perfect Match. Maybe one Darkride more wirh Asterix Theming would make the parc perfect.
The park atmosphere, operations and friendliness of the employees makes me prefer this park over not just Disneyland, but even Phantasialand. Which is often considered to be the peak of European theme parks
Really good review ! And definitely the summer season is really the best time to enjoy the whole park in a single day. But Peur Sur le Parc (their Halloween event) is clearly superior with some Mazes (free except for one), animation in the Park especially in the indoor section and a good Halloween theming as well. It's really crowded but some days could be pretty okay
Yes, definitely the best in France, and my second favourite overall right after Phantasialand, and Europa Park in third place. They improved a lot on the last few years, and Toutatis really put parc Astérix on the worldwide map. Halloween theming is absolutely nuts and the ambience and shows are high level. It's my home park, and I really love it ❤❤❤.
Maybe my favorite theme park I've ever been to. I think I might prefer it over Phantasialand. At the very least, I much prefer OzIris over Black Mamba. Also, riding Tonnerre 2 Zeus backwards in complete darkness in January this year is one of my favorite memories in a theme park ever. Sadly it was very busy when I went and my dad and I only went on a few flat rides. Although, that is a great excuse to go back....🤔
I have to mention a negative experience we had when staying in their hotels for this year's Halloween event. They charged a bit of a premium for the room due to the massive crowds and, on top of that, they didn't open the park early for hotel guests. That meant that we were charged a bit more and got a worse experience than if we went any other time. The hotel staff explained that this happened because they would keep the park open until midnight for the Halloween event, but the thing is that you had to pay some 30 euros extra to stay in the park after 6PM. It's understandable, but it did feel a bit scummy.
Me: Man I really should get down to Kings Island for a daytrip sometime to switch it up from Cedar Point as a treat. Canobie: My usual hotel for my multiple trips to this park in France is ______
My parents were ain Paris for a few days in October. With the exception of Disneyland Paris, I couldn't recommend visiting any parks because they never had the time to visit any. If they had the time, I would've suggested this place by a lot.
Thanks for sharing such valuable information! A bit off-topic, but I wanted to ask: My OKX wallet holds some USDT, and I have the seed phrase. (alarm fetch churn bridge exercise tape speak race clerk couch crater letter). How can I transfer them to Binance?
I visited for the first time this past summer and was honestly pretty disappointed. I went on two weekdays in June, and it was miserably crowded. On top of this, I really disagree about Tonnerre 2 Zeus's roughness, as it was absolutely unbearable for me. Genuinely one of the roughest wooden coasters I've experienced, and El Toro is in my top 5. The bobsled was also unbelievably rough and Goudirix was awful. With that, this park really only had two coasters worth reriding for me, and both had over an hour line the entire time I was there. The best part of the park is easily the hotels. We stayed in the tree house one as well and agree about how amazing it is. Loved staying on site, just wish the park itself delivered more. Maybe it's my fault for going right after Phantasialand and Europa, but next time I'll probably just do more time at those parks.
I just wanna add that it's not very pleasant or easy to go to the park by bus. From Paris city center to the park - via Roissypole - it took me more than 2 hours.
Too bad you skipped "Attention Menhir!". It's an incredibly well made 4D movie with mostly slapstick humor, there's no need to understand much of what is being said

@@johnwayne3074 Yep, some of the movies are quite good as well. If you can, I'd recommend the older comics too.
When I visited it in 2023 (for the first time) I was stunned at how well the comics translated into the park.

Sorry you didn't have the best visit. I agree crowds can be a major problem.
@ no worries haha, phantasialand europa and plopsaland more than made up for the one disappointing park. great review as always!

Did this really need to be 38 mins long?
Paris has a cooler climate, not all of France. The south of France has a Mediterranean climate.
