I just figured out why Social Distortion & Mike Ness are rarely played on the radio..... Look around at society; most don't deserve to hear music this good.
as a pittsburgh native, and a love for social distortion, i favor this song and as always its beautifully written. thank you for the putting this one up!!
I gotta tell ya....I was in iraq and afghanistan...but I knew a few guys like charlie. one is my friend still today. He was in vietnam and like a father, brother, and friend to me. Even took care of my affairs while I was in afghanistan for me so my mother wouldn't have to in the event I was killed. As time goes on, sometimes we forget....but let us not forget em Joe's who fought just as hard as any other american, in any other war, as they did in Vietnam. When ya play this song....bow your head, shed a tear....and think about the charlie's you knew in you neighborhood and lives.
My uncles were in Vietnam. When my uncle JOEY BERINDA was blown up on a gunboat carrying artillery shells, an they threw a foot in a casket and told his Family that was Him, my Dad got Pissed and went to sign up and they threw him out, saying he was a farmer, father, and too nuts 2 join. I was born in 1971, never got to see the only REAL friend my Dad ever had, and all my life planned to join the USMC artillery. I was born with diabetes, and pronounced dead ovet 20 times. My parents were told i wouldnt make it to 18. Ignorant, white male teenager, i made it. Took my ASFABS or whwateverTF military tests, and passed with flying colors. Didnt want the fairy college money, but $2500 cash enlistment bonus sounded GREAT! At that time, working in a sewage plant for $2.25 hr takehome pay. ( 1990) Or a 1.5 yr enlistment. I planned on the military for a career. As soon as they found out i was a juvenile diabetic that needed 5 shots a day to live, i couldnt get in as a janitor, or cook that i was in school training for. I cant even drive a damn truck for the same reason. Even Sheets or my neighbor wont hire me. Yet im a piece of SHIT for trying to get government benefits? How about some feedback, people. Tried every military branch, in cluding the National Guard, and they ALL REJECTED ME FOR ANY POSITION! I dont deserve to be pissed? SOMEBODY at least respond. Thank You.
A sharp D sharp then it goes to f major then it goes back to a sharp and D sharp that's pretty much the whole song those three chords you can play it with power cords I play it with bar chords

They were basically the only other band on the radio besides Metallica from 95-08.

Anybody else find it funny that the guy's name is Charlie and he gets sent to Vietnam to fight?
It’s “popping pills and doo-wop”.
Does anybody know the chords? I can figure it out but wanted to check. Thanks in advance.
