I had the urge to do a quick stealther on our camping trip/vacation. This one was different as I haven't stealth camped in such a large unfamiliar place yet. I got to try out the zipper model of the Hennessy Hammock that beautiful wife got me for our anniversary!

Stealth camp inside a circular clothing rack at Walmart
No balls Steve
LMAO!!!
Inosuke Hashibira oh that has to be occupied by... some “thing” already
That’s just stupid
"So we made it into the rack mostly unnoticed...time for a step 2!"
My heart breaks watching old Steve videos. He really did mention Beautiful Wife almost every time and she played a major support role.
Literally felt the same way when he mentioned Beautiful Wife my heart sank to my stomach!!
Yes, Morton Siglio, too!! 😮😮
same!! I still can't believe it :(
I had JUST gotten in to his channel, I wanna say a few months after she had passed. The videos are recommended to me by RUclips totally out of order, and seeing how he talks about her all the time, then see how he mentions her sometimes in past tense now is really heart breaking :(
I'm really glad to see you hanging in there Steve. I want to let you know, watching your videos has also in turn helped me cope with loss, and I really do mean that. Thank you for posting your adventures online, these videos honestly really help.
Yeah same here
Love this guy. I watch him as i fall asleep. I don’t mean that in a mean way as I look forward to it. But it just relaxes the hell out of me. Bc of him I am considering getting a shell for my truck.
Oh yeah. I usually get ready for bed. Turn the lights off and watch Steve til I drift to sleep. Around the time I begin to fall asleep I turn off the video and continue watching the next day
Get an old suburban!*
@@kirkhupp8886 lmao,dkw lol
i hope you got the shell for your truck! and went camping!
I do that most nights. Put on his videos until I'm to sleepy to stay awake.
Nothing like a good ol' _dirty stealther_
Usually you'd have to pay for such a thing, but good old Steve is always up for the freebies
The dirty stealther posts are the reason I follow Steve. I've been scouting interstate medians and airport parking lots.
Sounds kinky
Well Said
We not gonna talk about your profile pic 😂😂💀
Picking up litter. The world needs more people like you Steve.
So be like him.....
Always take out more than you brought in.
Agree peter!
When inwas legit homeless i used to go binning and I would clean up the mess left by people all the time trash woulld be scattered i still do sometimes when i see a big mess
That's my usual practice - take a trash bag with me and pack out anything I find. It really isn't a big deal, isn't hard. Many trails have a trash can at the trail head, it's not like you're taking someone else's trash home. Leave it better than you found it.
“The other people that camped here, I would like to meet them.” -threatens in Canadian
You where in kamloops bc for this hunker down.
You where camping on the street called Pacific way in kamloops bc
Hahahah people leaving their "medicine" containers behind, that's weed.
No way!!!
Yup, up here, thems is fighting words....
“I’ve got a hankering to do some hunkering” - Steve Wallis, 2020
Should be a Tshirt maybe lol
Shirt should also reference Step 1,Step 2...
I like it!
Great minds think alike, and fools seldom difffer.
I nearly spit out my Step Two -- at this, and "Everything's comin' up Steve!" *immediately steps on his stuff*
“Everything’s coming up Steve...”
Literally the next sentence: “I just stepped on my wine...”
Camping with Steve, it’s like it is with Ray Mears but with less of the Bushcraft and more alcohol. Both legends all the same.
Wife here: This comment made us both laugh. What a fall from grace, haha. Thank you for supporting Steve!
I had to tap back & hear it again, mentioned wine first then the GoPro lol
He said it right as I read your comment. 😆
This was an all-time great Camping with Steve moment.
I fell off the couch laughing. Ray Mears would 30 minutes on the location. Skillet
I just can't get enough of Steve's Stealth and non stealth camping. Always calms me down after a hectic day. Thank you Steve for providing entertainment to the masses.
The money y'all make you'd think one day a week wouldn't be to much to ask for imeen really
I got a hankerin’ to do some hunkerin’ - now that’s a t-shirt idea!! Keep it up Steve 👍🏻
I agree. I bought a 12 pack and put a tent in my back yard.. done
I like dirty stealther too
Fall and spring are def the best times to camp 👌🏽
Sounds like a good broadway show song.
Let’s start a band called “Hunker Down”.
The first album is called “Step Two”.
It features the tracks “This Ole Man Rambles On”, “Canadian Breakfast”, “Bland Noodle Dish”, and “Old Dirty Stealther”.
With Steve on lead spoken word vocals, Beautiful Wife on Hungarian Flute and Crazy Neighbor on drums.
Nope
This is great
That's silly
The acoustic version of "Pantry Supper" is fire - really makes you think.
Im in
"hunger is the best spice." Sir, two years ago you were a curiosity. Now you're a necessity. Pour it on, man,
My go to channel when I get home from my second/third shifts, I put on one of these videos and lay down after the long day. Keep these videos up Steve, Beautiful Wife is watching over you with each hunker down and step two.
Camping with Steve....i always stop everything I'm doing to watch when his vids drop
Thanks for taking us all along Steve! Good times!!
my favourite thing about Steve and this channel is that he is still the same Steve even with so many subs now, so happy for him and beautiful wife!!!!
I love Steve's attention to keeping the public land clean. It inspires me
For the last decade I've been a single father of two boys who are now more or less grown up. I still live with the younger one. Steve has inspired me to try many different recipes. So now when I'm asked what's for dinner, I say "Camping with Steve" - meaning something I picked up or adapted from some of Steve's videos. I've discussed with my sons that Steve's videos are a part of manhood which, I believe, is not encouraged. In Australia, we're in lock-down. But as soon as this is lifted, I'm heading bush for my mental health. Keep up the good work.
Since the pandemic started here in the US, I've been living out of a tent on my dad's property. Thanks for your channel! It's helped me make my campsite more comfortable :)
Wife called me from Costco asking if I need anything. I said “pick up some beer to get ready for camping with Steve”
She said “you know there’s wine in the pantry”
I said “can’t use wine for step 2”
Costco has awesome lightweight down blankets super good deal for summer camping. its a two pack of course but still very price friendly. included stuff sack. what?
They have an excellent assortment of outdoor and camping gear with most gear worth the price.
Just brown some flour in pan , pour in the wine, then filter through a cheese cloth, instant Guinness
@@MrSheckstr omg thats so horridly accurate dont have to chill it either lol
You totally can!! Anything can be a step two 😉😉
"Freshly cracked open package of pepper" ..... I love this guy
As someone who used to cook professionally here, the roux was a solid choice. Didn't look burned to me. Just a darker roux, the kind used for Jambalaya
I love this guys channel, but f*ck I would have laughed if someone was inside his hammock when he got back from getting the flashlight
😂😂😂😂😂
I stumbled across your channel and I have been binge-watching it for the last 4 days I think you have a really cool presence and channel and it's calming to watch you.
same. absolutely agree.
Definitely
I agree. Canada looks unreal. I refuse to believe it’s a real place until I visit. Also Steve is so nice, everyone I’ve met in all my years have been so rude or uninterested in me for whatever reason.. I’m happy to see there’s nice people out there somewhere
I agree, me too, Steve's awesome!
Your spot on! I agree 100%! Love this guy and his stealth camping!
12:44 - Hafemeister Funeral Home & Cremation for when it's time for that final Hunker Down!
Love the Stobe the Hobo “darkest hours of the night” reference.
Stobe the Hobo!!! "For no apparent reason" "Game Over!" "In the darkest hours of the night"
For no apparent reason this train isn't stopping in xalalala. the intermodal traffic around her has been unreliable, at best. I guess I'm just stuck here until I can jump off. Stobe Kenobi Out
Not a quote, but missing that guy
I also noticed that I've been watching Steve's videos all the way through, just as I did with Stobe's. And like Stobe's, I've now seen every one of them uploaded to RUclips.
There's a similarity of philosophy, I suppose. Steve's 'stealth camping' doesn't have the immediate (or eventual, hopefully!), risk of death, as did Stobe's. The worst that might ever happen is Steve gets caught one day. Big whoop.
But I enjoy Steve's commentary, just as much. He does what he wants to do (as long as Beautiful Wife authorizes it, I imagine), other than that it's basically a 'no rules' kind of life. I just hope Steve doesn't burn himself out trying to impress his fans. I often wonder if that drove Stobe to continue riding the rails until one day, he got careless. Keep it fun, Steve!
RIP Stobe.
They're both legends as far as I'm concerned. Just think if they had made a video together! I actually found Steve from Stobe's videos. I was recommended Steve's video where he stealth camped alongside the railroad tracks while I was watching Stobe. Small world seeing he knows Stobie!
@@dustyc324 I heard to camp out near railroad tracks, because snakes don't like the ground shaking due to trains going through.
That unfamiliar city is Kamloops, I have hike right through the same exact area. If you would of walked up further there's an old abandoned cabin that would be perfect for camping.
I have been a Steve fan from the beginning. I now even listen to Steve’s old videos while I workout at the gym!
Just a few thoughts:
1) I thought I was the only person who treated a 750 ml Tetrapak of wine as a single serving. Well done!
2) That's a Fairfield Inn, not a Mariott. It's a Motel 6 for corporate travelers on an expense account.
3) Your prepacked roux idea is excellent, and I'm going to try it myself. You just had your pan too hot.
4) Your lovely wife must have the patience of a saint if she's willing to let you go stealth camping on your anniversary trip. You better treat her like the treasure she is!
Sometimes venturing in to the unfamiliar brings great adventures. I'll be hunkering down in a small Cattle Cabin on a farm somewhere near North Texas and Oklahoma * Cheers mate! Jeep
Sounds nice man. Coming from a fellow Texan. Hope you have a great time 👍🏻
@@aaronjohnson8555 ...Thanks dude, sure will! . It'll post on my channel next Thursday . There are a lot of awesome places to visit throughout the state of Texas. Cheers mate * Jeep
Wait its Thursday?? YESSSSS. Forgot its Steve's Day.. and beautiful wife.. great work
Haha I said the same thing when I saw the notification for the upload! Days are flying by!
I died laughing when you said those little mosquitos that are hard to kill, have mean little hearts! And you said it with such a straight face, too! You are so comical. I may have watched about 10 of your videos in two days! "Hunkerdown"!
I'm dealing with them here at My jungle in mid Missouri last two months 24/7!*
I love how much you care about not leaving a trace.
19:04 paraphrase: "I'm going to take things down fairly quickly here, so that it looks like im just out with my camera, taking pictures of like trees and things.. there's lots of people that do that so I could be one of them."
Love it.
"Cook this first, Steve." - Beautiful Wife
"......." - Steve
"Cook this first!" - Beautiful Wife
"......." - Steve
"Sigh.... step one, cook this first." - Beautiful Wife
"Ohhhhhhh, got it!" - Steve
Wife here: This made me laugh. This is EXACTLY the kind of stunt that he pulls with me. Thank you for supporting him!
I’d LOVE to see a video where your wife picks everything!!!!
She could pick your location to stealth camp, what you eat, what beer you drink!! And it’s all a surprise until you get there!!! ahaha I think it’d be super interesting to see your reaction and your wife’s reasoning!!
I love that idea!
oooh.... that would be fun for us to watch.
I second this
I 2nd that motion👍🏼
Drops him off with nothing and says good luck. Lmao!!
Inspired by Steve, I went out on this beautiful winter day (25°F/-3°C) and did some stealth hiking in an area where it's safe & legal to wander off trail! Great way to spend an hour or two, I often try to veer off on my own, but actively trying to go stealth actually did add a lot of fun lol! And I was rewarded with some asparagus skeletons to tell me where to forage in April/May. Such a great way to rejuvenate the mind & soul. I love that Steve doesn't just look for epic scenery or famous locations, and that he is so low impact in his camping. It's so important to find practical, affordable, kind-to-the-ecology ways to immerse ourselves in the natural world, rather than to try and conquer it, destroy it in our quest for adrenaline, or limit ourselves to the most spectacular or popular sites. Stealth hiking & picnicking are really easy ways to experience some of this fun!!!
Me, 3 seconds in: Is that Kamloops?!?
I drive from Calgary to Vancouver and back a couple of times a year and it sure has its own look. 😀
Definitely Kamloops! Good eye
That was my first thought as soon as I saw the thumbnail!

RIP STOBE THE HOBO he used to say the darkest hours of the knight. He was legend just like yourself steve. You have come along way from your early days. Your attitude has significantly changed since the boondocking days. Much respect
When all of this covid shit passes, you should host a meet and greet and call it “Step 2 with Steve.” We can all come meet you and have a step 2 in real life! Plus, all of your fans will bring you beer and camping supplies!

Steve with the fresh cut. Looks good, buddy.
I miss the NHL look.
Always an adventure with the best stealth camper in the world! I love it. It would be a “Humanimal”

"The Darkest Hours Of The Night"
I miss ol' stobe
Yea I miss Stobe too, such a shame.
RIP Buddy
He lived a life we all wish we could live out for a month or two. I get such an empty feeling after watching a few of his vids. Miss that guy
Yes Stobie
would love to hear some stories about being discovered or almost discovered from you. anything harrowing or unexpected.
The scenery is so beautiful there. Watch it again and again
"Everything's coming up Steve..." NO! Not the wine! --says the me that just backpacked in 1 liter of wine (which weighs 2.2 lbs, by the way) 20 Km down the muddiest trail in BC. Must have Step 2's regardless of where you camp!
1 liter=1 kilo. metric system
I lost some pack weight for this weekend with new gear. now I'm bringing ginger ale for my whiskey. Decent.
Ever hike in with your water bladder full of beer? I did that and then just replaced it with water the next day.
@@mwirth187 Just Steve-converting for those who are metric-challenged! (Which includes me.) 1L=1kg=2.2lbs--just about the combo weight of my sleeping bag and pad, so I'm committed to my Step 2!
Sounds like the freeway in the background, good spot between exits. The only way to be seen is from above, cop chopper. If you build a fire make it an Indian two hole, and use very dry fuel,no smoke! After cooking a gourmet feast retire to your RV!
“Darkest hours of the night” Stobe the hobo!!
I agree! I would much rather go camping and try to figure out how to get warm, vs trying to figure out how to cool off. I can always put on more clothes and layers. I can only strip down so far before the cops get called
In the darkest hour of the night, Stobe ran out of step two.RIP

The video won’t load due to my awful internet connection but thankfully Steve’s comment section is as entertaining as the videos!
Such a great sense of direction....I'd never find my way back. 🇳🇿
Not gonna lie, I go back and rewatch old episodes to see what Steve had for dinner till something I see hits just right and then I make it.... the stroganoff at the tree house was the best so far....
I live about 2 miles from where Jim Stobe the hobo is buried.. loved his films
Love this video so far bro, what I enjoy doing is finding a great big tree, climb up in the tree, hang the hammock on two branches at the right length apart from eachother. I had to buy special straps for my hammock but it was totally worth it. Hammocks were the best thing to ever happen to camping.
“Darkest hours of the night” Nice Stobe reference my dude!
Imagine staying at a hotel and looking out the window to the woods behind you, and there’s Steve!
Canada is so beautiful! I love the forests and the lakes! I love nature!
Shout out to all the insomniacs out there going down a (C-W-S) rabbit hole at 3:00 in the morning

Steve always flying by the seat of his pants makes these the best videos on youtube. Quote of the week,
'Mosquitoes have got mean little hearts'
Love you layer back approach to life. Don’t mind the rambling
STOBE. The darkest hours of the night, LOL he was great! RIP STOBE!!
Steve, I love the cooking segments of your videos! You give me a lot of good ideas! Thank you!
Apparently, there are a bunch of Hunker down fans in Oregon.
You see tents on both sides of the road as you enter the state.
More like hunkering in plain sight
This a blast from the past. I thought the area looked familiar. I stayed at the Super 8 in the background as Steve looked for a flashlight and batteries. I think this is Kamloops.
Do you ever run into any homeless people already squatting in various locations? Also, these will turn out to be valuable training videos once the upcoming eviction/foreclosure crisis really gathers steam. A lot of people will suddenly become homeless and a little survival knowledge will go a long way to make it a little easier.
Survival? They hopefully still have jobs to survive this way
vids2002 - Yeah, agreed. I love Steve’s vids, but “survival” they are not. Nor are they meant to be - this is urban camping, sleeping rough, or whatever. If part of one’s survival scenario includes a tasty roux for your pasta, you’re still doing OK.
@@b.w.22 it is survival...of the homeless...
@@vids2002 jobs? I lost both of my jobs because of the covid19. Now I'm homeless sleeping in my car. Luckily I was able to save some money from unemployment.

Love the channel. I have twin boys and after watching a few of your video's together we went on a camping trip on a site in the UK where they allow camp fire pits. Daddy had his step two and we roasted marsh mellows by the fire. Thanks Steve for the great memories we made and are going to make in the future camping for the odd night and weekend spending time together as a hunker down team.
Darkest hours of the night. RIP Stobe.
How lucky are you guys to have that nice area bang in the middle of a city, we just don't have that space in the Scottish central belt. Beautiful.
I love when you say “beautiful wife”.
if you watch the 12 bears camping video when in the car he sweeps his "beautiful wife"when he switches view one can pause and see her although the subject is underlit in the passenger seat

Did you just coin the term “dirty stealthier”? Awesome
Kamloops?
