Online CPD: Radon Gas - Risks, Regulations and Remediation

Exposure to radon is the leading cause of lung cancer, after smoking, and can be found inside buildings across the UK. The Health & Safety Executive have recently been carrying out proactive radon inspections in the education sector, and in July 2023 a school was prosecuted for failing to comply with the requirements, the first radon-related prosecution to be brought in the UK.

• how to test for radon in buildings, including passive and digital monitoring; and
• how to reduce high radon levels and protect new buildings from radon
