Thanks for your recommendations, Shawn. I watched Atomic Blonde you suggested last time and it was a great movie. The action fight scenes were awesome. Cheers for this update.
Hi Shawn, love your videos. Been watching for years now! The David Lynch: Art Life is really great. Hope you enjoy it. Vampyr is a horror classic and totally worth picking up. The Piano Teacher is another great recent Criterion movie, not horror exactly, but very disturbing and weird. More videos with Herb please!
Hi Shawn! Do you have the following Criterion Collection titles: Don't Look Now, Diabolique, The Killers both 1946 and 1964 versions and Throne of Blood?
I saw an advanced screening of Three Billboards Outside Ebbing Missouri and really enjoyed it. I had no interest in seeing it but ended up with free tickets and went. Frances McDormand, Woody Harrelson and Sam Rockwell were all really good. I think you'd enjoy it. Great video as always!
If you’ve never seen it, Terry Gilliam’s film Jabberwocky is coming to Criterion later this month. If you’re interested you could maybe check that one out : ). Also, highly recommend Rebecca!
There are too many criterions to recommend but expanding cinematic experiences is always beneficial. Check out Letter Never Sent, a Russian film that seems more alive than most recent films. As well as Videodrome, which I"m sure you've seen, but criterion has done a nice packaging job as well as some good extra features. As well as Inside Llewyn Davis, Les Diabolique, Last Year at Marienbad, La Jette/Sans Soliel, Blow-Up....basically be prepared to spend some money.
coolduder I rewatched it last week. Criterion have an excellent set. Definitely worth a watch. Great reviews by the way. I particularly liked your story about the store owner listening to your comments when you are making your videos. Really funny that. Anyway, keep up the good work. I always look forward to your reviews.
Thanks for the reply, i'm a huge fan and have a comic book channel that i do a weekly videos on. The movie is about the Sex Pistols Sid Vicious and his girlfriend. I think you'll really like it.just FYI my channel ArkhamComicsLasVegas
Please i live in México City and i need the season one of stranger things, what is the language and subtitles in blu ray, tell me please. And i love your videos and reviews
That M*A*S*H thing is apparently not technically a steelbook, according to the listing on BestBuy.com. They have had it for a few months or so at a Dollar General in the area.
Cheers for these videos Shaun - I live in the uk so can't see what target and Best Buy etc have ... your videos help me make purchases from eBay and other retailers for region A titles .
I try to avoid Barnes and Noble. Especially because there's a Best Buy that sells cheaper movies. But at the same time you can get the criterions there so it's weird.
Awesome outing today. When you brought up the DVD to the movie "The Tormenting", I wound up looking at the cover on "Bing". All I gotta say is those mannequins have some bulge going for them. Last night I watched the original "Westworld" on Blu-Ray, great sci-fi western movie from the 70's. I've heard great things about the HBO series, but never seen in because we don't have HBO on our cable pack, now that it's out on Blu-Ray/DVD, I may finally give it a look. Also if you want to know about the movie "Vampyr", I highly recommend you check out James Rolfe's review of the film from last year's "Monster Madness".
I have Vampyr on dvd. It comes with a book too which has the screenplay for the movie and the novel Carmilla by Sheridan Le Fanu. I'm definitely buying that one again.
i'm really looking forward to watching the killing of a sacred deer and the 1970's movie sorcerer has been re'released a 40th anniversary one this movie is supposed to be a masterpiece and was a huge production but flopped massively because it came out the same time as stars wars so it didn't stand a chance
Oh man! I almost hyperventilated when you pulled that sealed Black Cauldron VHS tape out. I love that movie.
I know that one was so rare to see.
Thanks for your recommendations, Shawn. I watched Atomic Blonde you suggested last time and it was a great movie. The action fight scenes were awesome. Cheers for this update.
Really glad you liked that one. Such a fun movie for sure
Yes, definitely. Loved how they made the fight scenes look like one continuous shot, like you said. Can't wait for the sequel.
That Grimm prop is the one thing I want so much from this video.
It's the key necklace. That is so beautiful.
It sounded like a fucking madhouse in that Big Lots.
I know it was pretty crazy in their lol. I had to film it like 3 times to try and find a take that wasn't that bad.

I have heard that. That really would be interesting if that ended up happening.
How did you get Wind River? It doesn't come out until tomorrow.
@2:32 How come you never put things back on the shelf the way you found them? It always bothers me.
FanaticPromotion Supposedly he does after he is done filming, he has claimed anyway. But yeah that bugs me too lol.
Doing things with one had is not easy. Things are fixed of camera
I agree about Wind River. I saw it at the theatre and was really impressed with it.
I know really was such a great movie for sure

Don’t know if you’ve seen the Criterion version of Breaking the Waves but I would recommend it.
Cool I've heard of it but never seen it before.
coolduder I rewatched it last week. Criterion have an excellent set. Definitely worth a watch. Great reviews by the way.

Ya i only ever go their for Criterion stuff. Everything else is so overpriced for the most part.
Hey Shawn! When will you do another Q&A? & where do I go to leave my question for you to answer?
Awesome outing today. When you brought up the DVD to the movie "The Tormenting", I wound up looking at the cover on "Bing". All I gotta say is those mannequins have some bulge going for them.
