I was there in Austin, Texas 1979 "The Drum". Flew in from McAllen, Texas while I was at The University at Pan American. Great time with the Grammy Award winning year.
What a bitchen tune!! McDonald and the boys really lay it down here- the guitar fills are excellent-its tough to see Cornelius and Keith but this is a very good version of one of the best later Doobie jams-may the Doobies who are no longer with us know that the diehards will never forget them
From the Minute by Minute tour of 1979, the first with John McFee & Cornelius Bumpus; the band was riding the huge wave of success generated by the a Minute by Minute album. The band was on their "A" game. Please upload as much of this concert as you can. This is a rare & special treat.
As a very long time Doobs fan I hated it when McFee would strut around the stage during his solos. None of the other band members ever did that and it turned me right off! I saw every DB concert in the Bay Area for 11 straight year and I never saw a member of this band show off like that and, by comparison with the rest of the group, his solos were.... just OK, nothing special.
Love this frigging song soo much!!! Dang, this song is so old, but 100% better than the crap on the radio today. Don't argue with me about this! Lol!
I was at that concert in Houston. I was in High School. It was incredible!

I believe this is one of the best songs he has written. This is an excellent rendition.

I know...when Kieth died, left the band with no heart and soul. He was a kind and talented man
Why didn't they release this as a single? I think this is one of their best songs from McDonald era.
It was released as a single in February of 1982 off Best Of The Doobies Volume II and reached # 65
Oh wow. I was there!!

John Mcfee is so brilliant. His guitar sings so tastefully, it's incredible
