After the D though, he's just playing a G chord with a C shape fingering. There are quit a lot of ways to play a regular G. He has his ring finger on E @3rd fret. Middle on A @2nd fret and pinky on high E @3rd fret.

Looks like a regular ole D with with his pinky on the high E 3rd fret. That's just to add a little embellishment to a standard D.
