- After many weeks of effort between a group of developers and testers, we are proud to announce the release of NetherSX2, a modification for AetherSX2 on android.
Removing advertisements, Reimplementing frontend support, Removing PS3 derived bios checks, and supporting custom application names, this modification is designed to streamline and improve your PS2 Emulation experience on the go.

EDIT BECAUSE PEOPLE KEEP ASKING: The main NetherSX2 Script and modification does not include performance adjustments, however trusted member Trixarian has made patches to rebase with PCSX2's GameDB. See the Installation Guide & pinned comment there for information about Performance based patches for our initial app.

@@EZOnTheEyesRecently a new version of Nethersx2 came out and it applies game fixes for dmc games, tekken games etc. Can it happen with Hitman Contracts in the upcoming updates or versions? Cuz this game is very much broken. It needs to be fixed specially graphical and lag issues.

Does this reimplement shortcut creation? Because the new version of Aether seems to have removed that too
Installed that version earlier and Need for Speed Most Wanted runs in good performance without any lag issues 😏

Does the latest aethersx2 have achievements support. I hear the later versions have glitched achievements not showing or popping up
The one oversight we may have had in testing is RetroAchievements
However, because its the same package name as Aether, it should hopefully work.
@@EZOnTheEyes the later 5 alpha builds had issues. So unsure. I could test it. But that would involve. Making a backup of the older version .

This sounds promising, but what I'm really hoping for is continuing development performance/compatibility enhancements etc. Right now I don't see much difference than the old Aether before the ads.
that may be true, but this is a step in the right direction for mobile ps2 emulation
Granted this is mostly targetted at being Quality of Life improvements to undo a lot of the issues that have arisen in the last year (such as frontends, ads, bios issues), and further development for performance/pcsx2 rebasing is beyond our scope at the moment, but all progress is good progress :)

Not in our abilities at the moment, but _maybe_ in the future. No promises and just a maybe. It needs a lot of work to get there.

Why there's no NetherSX2 in PlayStore?
Liscense reasons. We cannot provide a premade APK, people need to make on their own device. And also Playstore has a lot of other strings that come attached to it, its a bit much for a project of this scope.

I doubt whether this application is just a mod but in terms of performance it's the same as Athersx2, it's not getting any smoother, oh I don't know if this is a replacement for Athersx2, I hope it's more advanced like Athersx2 Those who were successful but stopped, hopefully this successor, called nethersx2, will be even greater for the developer Collaborate with the developer who made the PS2 emulator Athersx2😢😮

Unfortunately, we cannot redistribute the NetherSX2-noads due to liscense however you may run the script to build yourself. Once this is done, the end user is responsible for the APK built

you need to self build the application by running 1 command (takes 2 minutes to do), the end result will be the installation APK

@sharmilasitaula8864 performance wise, there is no difference between nether 1.0 and latest aether alpha. If you update to Trixarian's custom patches NetherSX2, you will see GameDB adjustments that fix bugs in games and may adjust performance depend on the title. In short, you can update for better performance.
Quality of life wise, netherSX2 1.0 has all the features listed in the video.

Maybe this will never happen but imagine if it will be easy to run as psp emulator (ppsspp), nearly every single device could run it 🤔
It'll never be at that level but over time it will definitely become easier to run. There are devices today that can run gamecube that couldn't run them 5 years ago, thanks to updates and improvements. In a few yrs I could see ps2 being as easy as gcn emulation currently is.

@vinodford1448 Correct OG Xbox has made alot of improvements but still much more difficult than ps2/gcn. I hope we get to see an android emulator released these next few years. PS3 and 360 will probably be playable in 2030 lol
Now there is no classic Xbox emulator to complete everything in the 128-bit phase😅
I don't talk to the Xemu (original xbox) team that much... but I know Xenia (x360) is testing on android (you can see old pics of like gta 4 on phones in their discord). They don't have any dates or solid plans yet, but stay tuned :)

@@EZOnTheEyesBro hitman contracts lags both in Aethersx2 and Nethersx2. It's iso file is broken. It doesn't work smoothly in any powerful device. Do you have any patch codes for this? Or can you fix this unoptimized iso of Hitman Contracts?
