I came searching for a message on this chapter in my studies on trauma and recovery. Thank you. May God, in Christ, continue to bless you with His grace and peace for your personal needs and ministry.
I grew up going to church and I never heard pastors preach like this. I grew up hearing a sugar-coated gospel. I don't think I have ever even heard this story before, which is on me. I appreciate Alistair's preaching of it. Praise the Lord, for truth-speaking pastors, who steward God's word. So grateful.
Perceptive, sensitive, touching. "You don't need a Jonadab." How blindly we blunder when we forget the fear of God, the awful bitterness and foolishness of sin.
Well! I read this yesterday - the Scottish accent stoped me - What a word Thank you - I am in Australia - This is so in time - Fear of the Lord - rejoice in The Lord always Phil 4 - Time is right … Thank You
I, too love his preaching. The bible is a history of the fallen man. Yes there are Godly humans and an ever present God, but humans have not changed as far as the most horrendous deeds.
If ever I needed a message to speak to my heart and mind, it has been this one Thank you I needed this for a long time and it has come in a timely hour and day for me, pray for me that I may apply the lesson thaught here
He is a wonderful teacher, when I drived from work for 7 years listened to him daily and always left in tears or on the verge of tears. Now retired and get to listen without disruption
How often has your minister warned this may not be acceptable to younger audiences? Perhaps if the younger hear this sad story and CONSEQUENCES, they may apply it to their lives. Outstanding.
Habakkuk 3:19 The LORD God is my strength, and he will make my feet like hinds' feet, and he will make me to walk upon mine high places. To the chief singer on my stringed instruments. Ephesians 5:19 Speaking to yourselves in psalms and hymns and spiritual songs, singing and making melody in your heart to the Lord;
TICK TOCK. Time is short folks. Accept Yeshua Hamashiach as your Lord and Savior as tomorrow is not promised. We're in the last laps of the race and you cannot fence sit forever. Decide today where you'll spend Eternity. Salvation is a free gift so what are you waiting for?
@@GeneralPatton88 Yeshua is Jesus' name in Hebrew - from what little Hebrew I know I deduce Hamashiach means The [ha] Messiah, the Christ, the Anointed One
@@GeneralPatton88 Don't be rude. Yeshuah is His real name. Iesous was a (poor) Greek translation. Jesus is a name in English but no one by that name actually existed. It's like calling someone named John "Sivan." It may sound similar but it's not the person's birth name. "Lord" is a title, like "Master" or "Sir." So don't be rude when someone knows His name and you are unfamiliar.
These are the days of our lives, these iniquity are still taking root and stronghold, taking folks into the darkness of evil The sins and iniquities of the father and mother (parents) trickles down to the children and generation to generation Then if these spiritual warfare are not repent and confess to sin NO more; these legions of spirits that are ungodly not of God Spirit in us all are running amok and these lustful fleshly desire of the flesh is deviant and a detriment to the upright to always be aware of preys as this lesson sermon is teaching
This sermon moved me to the core, I even watched it happen first hand, thirty five years ago, sadness falling like burning skin. and it could have been me, in this case it was my brother, five years after he was taken by a huge wave right off the New Jersey shore, while others looked on.
I am so sorry for the distress and pain you have had to deal with because of someone else's evil. You were obviously meant to hear this sermon. May you receive the loving comfort the Lord God offers to all of us. 1 Corinthians 1:3-4 "Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of sympathy and the God (Who is the Source) of every comfort, Who comforts (consoles and encourages) us in every trouble (calamity and affliction), so that we may also be able to comf ort (console and encourage) those who are in any kind of trouble or distress, with the comfort which we ourselves are comforted by God." 2 Corinthians 7:6 "But God, Who comforts and encourages and refreshes and cheers the depressed and the sinking". Remember, satan wants to destroy us (you). Draw close to God and satan will flee from you. God's love and peace be with you.
Wow! On this day I will subscribe to this channel and search for more. Pastor You delivered God's message well my friend. My mind have been refreshed thank you for the strength of God. Let us present our desires to the godley. Not to the worldley for they will help you no matter if it's wrong or right. Today by God you have cast out demon thoughts and captured that witch is of god and brought us to the light. I love you my friend Good day Dear God continue to bless this man Amen
Be aware of unwise counsel from those who you call a friend That friend didn't showed himself a friend to stand in upright to counsel wisely and teach that these lustful desires and thoughts are abomination But that cheeky spirit within him, plot a plan to be a yes friend to sought unfruitful ways to get his own way that was not of God nor honourable to protect the virtue of a young lady, his sister (half/step sister) David was unwise in wisdom, naive too, not sensing his sons intent, or pretentiousness to garner attention and get sympathy Hence the rape of his daughter by his son and then the spirits of revenge, hatred, family divide and division, and even deaths preyed upon king David's household amongst the siblings.... Sad Sad sad
Amnon was Tamar's half brother, not her step brother. A half sibling shares a common parent. A step brother has no biological connection. Neither step brother nor step sister share a common parent.
We learn of the disturbing facts in the bible, of horrible sinners like Amnon who hurt his innocent sister. There horrible things happen in real life, and we have to learn from it. It matters to know right and wrong, it matters to obey God and try to follow his laws and principles!
What grievous situation. I see a reflection between what happened to Tamar and what happened to Dinah. Consequently, what both her brothers do to the Prince who was in love with her (though it was really about acquiring Jacob's house) mirrors what Ammon did to Tamar and what Absalom did to Amnon as Dinah's brothers did to the King, his son and all his men.
It's like a movie of the life channel. It's as if after pouring out his lust upon her, everything she had suggested may happen suddenly became real. And so he hated her with a revolting hatred because he blamed her, "What have I done? Why? Why did you come? Why did you do this to me? See what you have made me do? You know what you were doing! You pretended you were not aware of my longing for you. I hate you! I utterly hate you for making me do this!" Or maybe in his perversion, he had imagined that he would "love her" and have her call out his name in deep, longing, pleasing passion and fully give herself in longing for him. But that isn't what happened... she cried... she begged him to stop... she made no sounds of passion, but possibly fought and wrestled a bit against him.
@@melodieperkins7080 I agree about the description of Amon, definitely a complete NARCISSIST. But remember why this repulsive story is included in the Holy Scriptures. The Lord God wants us to understand the horrendous consequences of SIN. It destroys people, destroys their lives. Love and blessings.
Perhaps one major reason why God did not want His people to have a king like the pagan communities around them. God wanted to be their God; He allowed the Israelites to have a king because they REJECTED HIM as God.
Listen everyone: Sin is part of God's Perfect Divine Plan. You do believe in Almighty God and His Perfect Divine Plan don't you? Well, this is it. And if this is not it then whose Perfect Plan is it?
God did not plan for mankind to sin. But, being God, he knew what would happen. Then He put His perfect plan of redemption into operation, John 3:16! This repulsive story is included in the Holy Scriptures to show us just how destructive SIN IS. It destroys lives and ends in death. It is not a respector of persons. Praise the Lord God for His LOVE and MERCY! Hallelujah!
