It’s very similar, except you don’t need cell links with Data Mesh. It therefore provides more flexibility as if you have column formulas, you can’t overwrite them. Or if you have lots of cell links, this can put pressure on the system. You can also control the frequency of the update if you want / need to manage that
Can this be used to assign a Resource Group based on the selected Assigned To person? And in addition what if there are multiple Assigned To people...can the Resource Group get updated with all the corresponding Resource Groups? Example: Jane Doe belongs to Accounting, John Doe belongs to IT and Sally Smith belongs to Contact Center. If Jane Doe, John Doe and Sally Smith are all listed in Assigned To can the Resource Group get updated with Accounting, IT, Contact Center?
I haven't tried it for that, but I don't think it would recognise a 'resource group' in the strictest sense (eg when you share a sheet with a group). Data Mesh copies data from one sheet to another, so if you've got the data you want in another sheet and want it copied across, Data Mesh will do that. If that's not the case in your particular scenario, then you'll need to look at a different solution.
