To be fair, he has actual time. Before, they were more focused on just making Naruto stronger at the cost of variety... more jutsu would be pointless if he wasn't strong enough. Something that I like is that whenever Naruto beats Boruto in training he never overpowers him , he uses a compareable force to Boruto if not weaker and shows him how to win by skill

I honestly love the filler episodes of Naruto with all the creative techniques. My favorite being word binding jutsu aka waving one finger like a witch to cast techniques/spells and control people. Or in the chunin where one used extensively sealing tags to get rid of rubble. Imagine being able to weave sealing marks on your body instantly to absorb incoming attacks, absorb the chakra or convert the chakra to your own element and throw it back.

@Dalton Long in the naruto universe, any ninja can perform any nature jutsu, the affinity is a thing that helps a ninja focus on a single element change of his chakra to make powerful techniques, like sasuke, he uses katon (fire) but his affinity is lightning, he's never changed fire nature, but he changed lightning nature. same as kakashi, who only changed lightning nature using his shiden or chidori into wolves or things like that. boruto can use a wind rasengan and a lightning rasengan cuz he has those two affinities, but he can't do an earth rasengan cuz he lacks of the affinity. that doesn't mean he can't do a basic doton jutsu without changing nature.
