I love how pretty much everyone in adventure/thrill-seeking jobs are so chill and supportive... I've seen it from mountain bike instructors, surfing coaches, zipline staff and bungee jumping staff
For real!! I worked as a ziplining guide (well, it's an aerial course that has a bunch of ziplines, but same same) and whenever I got to work, it didn't feel like it was a job. I was paid to do what people pay for, all day long. All I wanted is to make sure my groups were having as much fun as me, encouraging them to let out their inner child and enjoy the moment. Worked there for 3 summers, and some returning people were asking for me to be their guide again. Honestly, it was just wonderful exchanges of energy. I had a lot of energy to share, and they were returning it. I was great with people who were nice and safe, but like a military man to those who would try to argue and not comply to safety measures. Tl;dr If you always had a lot of fun with your guides, then it means they enjoyed your company. I'm pretty sure I would've loved to have you in one of my groups!!

You can’t see the ground (at least, not except as a far away thing that our brains process differently than ground 200, 300 ft below), so you don’t get that same feeling of vertigo / pit in your stomach and weak knees that big drops give. I’ve gone skydiving once and that pit of the stomach feeling is completely absent, or at least was for me, so the jump was easier in terms of an instinctive thing - at 200 ft your every instinct is screaming at you to not jump and to watch out for that drop - our subconscious sense of self preservation has no frame of reference for jumping out of a plane, that’s not a risk we evolved to be concerned with. Also, on a more analytical level, past a certain height every fall is basically death anyway, so better to have more height / time to make sure everything goes right, this is why BASE jumping is so much more wildly dangerous than bungee jumping. I believe bungee jumping is actually quite safe like skydiving provided the people operating it know what they’re doing
I'm a skydiver and I've done bunjee jumping, and yeah, you're right, that's because at a high altitude, around 1000ft, your brain doesn't really process the altitude, so you basically just see a pretty landscape, at a lower altitude you can basically recognise the floor like the solid rock material it is that will crush every bone in your body if your bunjee fails. 🤣 With that being said, I 100% recommend you trying both, you won't regret it. 😊

“So Teri’s not even that scared let’s be real” That is the perfect way to chill someone out if they are scared of something… love it. My boyfriend used to say this to me when I was having a panic attack and was freaking out, he’d tell me “well I guess you’re just gonna feel like this forever, huh? 😉” for some reason it would calm me down because I realized, he was right, I won’t feel like this forever I’m just feeling like this in the moment and that moment will go away. Weird way to calm someone down but it worked for me.
This stuff is intense. I went 1 or 2 months ago, so I'll try my best to explain what it was like. Before you get up there you're thinking "yeah its really scary, but I can do this!" After getting clipped in, the straps stop your feet from seperating, and make you feel slightly claustrophobic. When standing on the edge, you start to hype yourself up and slowly gain confidence. I've heard people say the longer you stand there the more nervous you get (it was different for me). When it's time to jump, you let go of whatever you were holding onto long enough for you to regret ever wanting to do this. Your chest drops and your breath sharpens. After a bit of coaxing from the really chill dude behind you (and maybe a slight push), you dive headfirst into what first feels like a skydive without a parachute. When all of a sudden you feel pressure in your feet and legs - like they're gonna come off - except it doesn't hurt. Then you feel a different kind of pressure as blood rushes to your head faster than white ladies running into a store on black Friday. Imagine that feeling you get when you fall half out of bed, but instead you're hovering a couple extra meters above a rapidly flowing river. Side note, a friend of mine who also went jumping did it very wrong. He jumped feet first. I want you to imagine what he was feeling as the giant rubber band tossed him back and forth like a 2 year old and it's new toy 😂

u guys remember the story of the guy and his girl that went to do this (different place). she was really really scared and the fear made it so that she wasnt paying attention, as she was being strapped in they said ''go'' but they were talking to her boyfriend, NOT HER. and she just heard ''go'' and jumped before they strapped her in. she died obviously and apparently had a hear attack on the way down too.....

It's not terminal velocity because the bungee cord does slow you down at the end, but it very well might hurt. I've never done it.

u guys remember the story of the guy and his girl that went to do this (different place). she was really really scared and the fear made it so that she wasnt paying attention, as she was being strapped in they said ''go'' but they were talking to her boyfriend, NOT HER. and she just heard ''go'' and jumped before they strapped her in. she died obviously and apparently had a hear attack on the way down too.....
