A lot of the in-game Administrator lines from the War! update actually seem to account for this "Kill him, again and again and AGAIN!" "Yes, more!" "He is your enemy. Never forget that again."
I've been thinking about something else lately. The Administrator dislikes friendship in general, of course, but persecutes only those that are made between members of opposing teams. She did this, for obvious reasons, of course, so they'll kill each other without hesitating, but also because she wanted to avoid the Mercs to find out that she, or rather, we, work for both sides. But... you kinda already know. All of you do. So destroying those friendships seems kind of pointless to me.

Filling for those who are out of the loop: In the comic, Pauline noticed their friendship, afraid once they stopped fighting, they'll start chatting about why they're fighting and potentially talk about their boss, the Administrator, so she was ordered to make the 2 fight, by baiting Soldier into thinking Demo said he's a civilian and tempted Demo with the Eyelander. The comic never had an ending, it just ends as Pauline finish setting up the fight for the 2.
Here's something you (probably?) never thought about: When the 'Demoman' said Soldier was a civilian, what did Soldier mean when he said "He promised he'd never..."?

When the Soldier was about to kill the Demo at the end, it panned over to the camera...Who else thought that the Soldier was going to shoot the camera?
Look in the customs browser, find a x-whatever map (most likely cp orange) and you’ll find hoovies, fetus’s that can play video games, and 32 year olds that scream expletives in their mics 24-7
Honestly the fucked up part about this is that when the soldier shot the chair and nearly killed the demoman, he paused and had sort of this "what have I done, what am I doing" look on his face. He had the expression that he was about to put down the rocket, but the demoman never noticed and blew him to hell
You know what's even more messed up? The missions that Administrator makes them do, like payload, actually have benefits for Mann-Co. I believe that the payloads that we push with bombs into these holes are to dig more Australium so we and more people can buy Australium weapons. Pretty messed up knowing we were unknowingly forced to do slavery without us knowing.
The friendly voicelines were for the actualization "WAR!" that was released after the comic with the same name. This animation was inspired by that update, read the desc.

Here's my interpretation of why this is so brilliant. It's only an opinion, but try to understand. This is darker than we all have originally thought. The administrator got exactly what she wanted, yes, but look at in a war perspective. These mercenaries are sent to kill one another every day. A soldier is sent to die for his country, but instead for land and greed of the leaders they fought for, which offer little rewards. Imagine it as a game in real life. Once you die, it's over. Once a team is defeated, it's over. Once an army dies, it's over for that country or the administrator. What happens here? Demoman was blasting random explosives over a wall, giving up on the madness and trying to ignore it. Alcoholic as well. The soldier was running from a lost battle that was lost, just another soldier trying to find a reason to all this... Demoman was underground because Red Team was also losing. Blue did advance in every scene. Look at it. The red team kept being pushed back. Video about Heavy represents the Red Team being portrayed as a foolish silly army that has no idea how to do anything or has order, while in reality you could say because we use social media to brainwash people about false information about our enemy there for we think this enemy is mad and has no order. We are administered, while the Blue say they are so great and portray themselves as almighty. The victor writes our history, but the administrator holds the pen. These two wanted to get away from the whole madness. Blue spy infiltrates base, heavy defense on red, but even the snipers successfully advancing of the Blue team. Everyone is killed. One red Demoman remains. You must pay the price for betraying your country, just like you must pay the price for betraying your administrator. The administrator was right. You are not his friend, you're a killer. She is what she administers you to be. Your voice does not exist. Soldier feared his employee leader just as soldiers in the past feared their commanders if they should try and escape in real war. Administrator did her job and she got payed well to take the blue team out of picture. After all, we're all just mercenaries.
Yeah that's all true but why be concerned about what these so called "leaders" want all they care about is their own greedy desires not ours so why care about them why be blindly told what to do something when you can just conga and enjoy yourself :)

I beleive there is a deeper message in this Saxxy. You can be friends with anyone, any race, gender, religion. But, society would disagree, and tell you to break apart of each other. You will try and try to stay friends, but eventually, society will force you away from each other.

So in the tf2 comics mostly the administrator had noticed about demoman and soldiers friendship, So she thought it would get the job done and also amuse her if she had Demoman on RED team, And she also manipulated soldier using a poorly robot voice of demoman Calling soldier a civilian, in which that made soldier angry... And soldier joined BLU team... But they are still friends to this day...
Oh man, I know I played TF2 during the War Update and saw the Soldier vs. Demo in actual servers. This is just really good though starting with the Soldier and Demo being friends, but like in the update, a sharp betrayal caused by the Announcer. I liked the parts when they were friends, and seeing the ending was really grippingly sad to see unfold. Anyway, great idea on making the War Update as an animation, as it really worked out by capturing the story and drama very well along with excellent animation quality to it.
Who didn't come across someone who wasn't playing serious and just joking around? That's pretty much the reason I love this game. It's not a serious shooter, it's a silly shooter, where objectives don't matter when you have fun.

WolfgirlElectro I've met a couple, one who prefers to work together and when we are on seperate sides, have a truce between us, the other who we both intentionally seek out to kill each other. Both are fun to play with.
This was so well made, and using the “I Am Not A Moron!” track at the end was bloody brilliant because not only did the sound of the score fit well with the mood of the scene, but it packs in a lot more emotion for people who have played Portal 2. That score evokes certain memories of betrayal for us. So... hats off to you on amazing score choice.

It's like a metaphor for following story: During WW1 The Germans and the Frenchs fought on the battlefield but in one December the Germans decided to prepare for Christmas,the French guys decided that too and then they were best friends. But then the goernment of both countries said that they must fight each other (The story is true). So,you may have another view on the video :)
No dude... It's depicting the War Update, as in the actual Soldier and Demo updates.. Instead of doing separate updates for soldier and demo, Valve decided to make war between the two, and even made a comic for back story. So... nice thoughts but too deep.
Seriously I cannot believe this isn't nominated, I mean there's some great stuff among the current nominees, but I find this one better then at least one or two of the current ones. It has humor and drama, the idea is just amazing, the expressions you can give the characters are so believable and makes their characters really lovable! For example the little laugh Soldier had upon seeing the silly sticky-bomb smiley face, made me like this film within 30 seconds. Soldier makes a smiley himself, made me love the film. But I guess it's just too bad, I hope you'll continue to make some more good films and maybe make it next year, but take all the time you need!

Pretty damn sad alright, that was. But excellently made, nonetheless. Really liked the first action-ish scene, and how well it suited the music. I mean, i liked the whole vid, but that part, and especially the camera movements there, were spot-on. Really gave the feeling of being in the action. Solder's face looked a tad weird while he was smiling, but I'm guessing that the models really weren't created so that they could smile heart-warmingly :P But nonetheless, really liked this entry.
I gotta say, i dont think I've seen any other sfm that really captures the casual chaos of what a match is like as much as the middle segment here. Its awesome! It shows classes doing their thing, it shows teamwork and how quickly things happen, and it's... Awesome. I almost wish it was its own stand alone video, demonstrating the ebb and flow of battle. All the crazy shit tf2 has to offer, in a video with great music :) Also, the mannerisms and body expressions between soldier and demo are lovely! Really well done :)
This is sad. Why couldn't the RED Demoman and the BLU soldier kinda treat to as a kind of compitation and they can be friends on cease fire. There was unused audio when a Demoman or a Soldier dominates the other, they act like they hate each other, but they're still great pals.

This brought me to tears, especially how peaceful the demo was at the end. He was happy to have a friend but he was betrayed.
The soldier wasn't going to kill him at the end. The demo thought he was going to get killed, so he killed both of them.

Yes! That is true! In the comics of TF2 demoman and soldier are best buddies to each other... So in the tf2 comics mostly the administrator had noticed about demoman and soldiers friendship, So she thought it would get the job done and also amuse her if she had Demoman on RED team, And she also manipulated soldier using a poorly robot voice of demoman Calling soldier a civilian, in which that made soldier angry... And soldier joined BLU team...
But they are still friends to this day...

Oh man, I know I played TF2 during the War Update and saw the Soldier vs. Demo in actual servers. This is just really good though starting with the Soldier and Demo being friends, but like in the update, a sharp betrayal caused by the Announcer. I liked the parts when they were friends, and seeing the ending was really grippingly sad to see unfold. Anyway, great idea on making the War Update as an animation, as it really worked out by capturing the story and drama very well along with excellent animation quality to it.
Who didn't come across someone who wasn't playing serious and just joking around? That's pretty much the reason I love this game.
It's not a serious shooter, it's a silly shooter, where objectives don't matter when you have fun.
That is the most realistic description of TF2 I have ever seen!

This was so well made, and using the “I Am Not A Moron!” track at the end was bloody brilliant because not only did the sound of the score fit well with the mood of the scene, but it packs in a lot more emotion for people who have played Portal 2. That score evokes certain memories of betrayal for us. So... hats off to you on amazing score choice.

No dude... It's depicting the War Update, as in the actual Soldier and Demo updates.. Instead of doing separate updates for soldier and demo, Valve decided to make war between the two, and even made a comic for back story. So... nice thoughts but too deep.

Seriously I cannot believe this isn't nominated, I mean there's some great stuff among the current nominees, but I find this one better then at least one or two of the current ones.
It has humor and drama, the idea is just amazing, the expressions you can give the characters are so believable and makes their characters really lovable!
For example the little laugh Soldier had upon seeing the silly sticky-bomb smiley face, made me like this film within 30 seconds. Soldier makes a smiley himself, made me love the film.
But I guess it's just too bad, I hope you'll continue to make some more good films and maybe make it next year, but take all the time you need!

Pretty damn sad alright, that was. But excellently made, nonetheless. Really liked the first action-ish scene, and how well it suited the music. I mean, i liked the whole vid, but that part, and especially the camera movements there, were spot-on. Really gave the feeling of being in the action. Solder's face looked a tad weird while he was smiling, but I'm guessing that the models really weren't created so that they could smile heart-warmingly :P But nonetheless, really liked this entry.

I gotta say, i dont think I've seen any other sfm that really captures the casual chaos of what a match is like as much as the middle segment here.
Its awesome! It shows classes doing their thing, it shows teamwork and how quickly things happen, and it's... Awesome. I almost wish it was its own stand alone video, demonstrating the ebb and flow of battle. All the crazy shit tf2 has to offer, in a video with great music :)
Also, the mannerisms and body expressions between soldier and demo are lovely! Really well done :)

This is sad. Why couldn't the RED Demoman and the BLU soldier kinda treat to as a kind of compitation and they can be friends on cease fire. There was unused audio when a Demoman or a Soldier dominates the other, they act like they hate each other, but they're still great pals.
