Hey Daniel! Thanks for the vid 👍 I like poker shapes much. I started with corn cob pipes when I was 12 😁🙈🙈 My favourite pipe is still a cherrywood which I bought 10 years ago. I will send you a pic, if you want. Pokers/Cherrywoods are usually not big or heavy shapes. Good to keep them in the mouth while doing things with the hands. And good pipes for outdoor activities also.
You can make pipe from cherry trees but those are not considered very good quality pipes.... If we go for best quality (the only option in this short life imho) we should consider only few types of wood...
Interesting topic Daniel. I have few Stanwell 207 pipes that I consider poker, however their stem is bent down just a little bit. Is that still a poker shape? I have also Albin's Cherrywood pipe that is tilted forward, but due to this feature and a size (it is quite big), I can't see well how I'm lighting it so this could lead to charing the rim of the bowl. Take care, Janez
I would say it is a poker stil... It is not that strict and there are always deviations as with my poker i showed... It is also a little bit tilted forward ...
btw i have same problem with flake tobacco before. So now I always use a manual crusher, it seems to be unnatural, but i prefer that way to make the smoke easier
🙂🙂👍 ... I just need to rub them a bit more... However - i amalways fascinated with a friend of mine that just stuff them into the pipe without rubbing them at all and smokes that way... I stil need to master smoking that way..
Great video! I bought a Boswell poker pipe, and I thought he said he used cherrywood. After watching your video, I have no idea what I’m using now 😂 very educational, and I hope you have a giveaway! GAW’s Are always invited here in Durango, Colorado 💨💨💨

Thank you so much for your kind comment... If it heloed, i am happy...
I love pokers and cherrywoods. Beautiful pipes, with a tough demeanor. I been looking at the savinelli pokers. Absolutely gorgeous pipes
Very informative! Thanks.
real educational, great video, thanks!
before watching this video, I used to consider 'cherrywood' as a kind of wood, as briar/boxwood/morta 😓😓
Great video

Very educational video, I always thought that cherrywood specified the kind of wood the pipe is made out of, TIL.
