'Push-to-Release' DIY Antenna Hack Worked Out Beautifully! Sony CRF-320 restoration Pt.7

- The final part of this restoration is the replacement of the antenna system. Original antennas for this radio are extremely hard to find (and expensive). However, I managed to find replacement antennas for the Eton 750/Grundig Satellite 750 on the market, and adapted these to fit this Sony. The 'push-to-release' system used here is a really a cool feature of this model, so I just had to reproduce it. I think it worked out quite well.
See for yourself.

Oh I remember the days before internet and youtube. Everything you had to figure out yourself and no one to show what you done. Great work and I really appreciate what you do. Great videos. Thanks!
Pleasure
Impressive radio and impressive fix for the antenna Manuel. 3D printers are a game changer for radio restorers. Thank you for a very interesting series Manuel 🙂
My pleasure, Dave. Right now I’m fighting a hideous green paint job. I’m missing the Sony already 😊
What a lovely mid-week surprise and what a superb result! I'm sure you will be very sad to see it leave. A radio very much on my wishlist to partner my Braun T1000CD - chalk and cheese on the aesthetic front though that pairing may be. I'd hoped to win an eBay auction a few weeks ago but ended up as runner up so no prizes for that. Darn, they aren't cheap!
No, not cheap at all. But well worth it 😊
Your antenna 3D printed base is absolutely brilliant! 👌This whole project came out great, (despite all the obstacles). 👍
👍
What a beauty it is! Maybe I missed it somewhere, but why isn't the clock running? Does it need batteries for that or so?
Yes, it needs a battery, which I’ve left out for shipping.
Excellent restoration. I thoroughly enjoyed the entire set of restoration videos.
Thank you
Manoel bom dia! Simplesmente muito maravilhoso estas antenas ficou top e todo o trabalho de restauração parabéns…
👍
Great job, and part innovation. That is a great radio I hope your friend really cherishes it.
👍
Great work and i love the solution for the antennas with the latch switches.
Thanks Stefan. I really had fun with this one.

Your channel is the pinnacle of vintage radio service
Apologies. Forgot 😊 will add it to the description tonight
So, no hope for the clock then?
Well done Mr C!
The clock works fine, just doesn’t have a battery on at the moment. What I couldn’t replicate was the lid for the timer wheel.
Sending this beautiful and no doubt expensive radio to London is taking a great risk, Manuel.
It has to be extremely well packed, in “double boxes” to avoid damage.
@@electronicsoldandnew I for me would not trust any postal service with such a valuable item. I would rather invite my friend to Madeira to pick up his radio.
He’s actually mentioned coming (again) 😊
Superb creativity and innovation!! A fantastic restoration and a great video series for this highly desirable radio!!! Well done!!
Thanks 😊
This was absolutely worth it! Thank you for teaching us about what is possible when we cannot find original replacement parts.
👍
Nice !
wow
👍
Manuel Your engineering background has certainly pay dividends in your hobby even seemingly mastering 3-D printing. Perhaps after you've installed the chip sockets you should use this set as an excuse to hand carry it to England.
Great idea. I miss London 😊 Used to go there 3 or 4 times a year, but not lately.
