hearing this the audio from the first trailer start up in the first few seconds put a gigantic smile on my face, I couldn’t be happier this game is finally real after all these years
It was like the Ratatouille scene with the critic reexperiencing his childhood. I was there when the first trailer was uploaded as a messed up wee lad that was a fan of Isaac so to say this has been sitting in some dark corner of my consciousness couldn't be anything other than obvious.
i feel like underneath the surface of intuitive gameplay and cat sex, there’s something deeply wrong with the world of Boon County. Every inch of it screams “Something Bad Happened Here”, and I for one can’t wait to explore it.
Well I mean the whole “Isaac and his mother” thing is implied to have gone down in this County (the “the lord above just killed them” teaser trailer mentions that “the mother of that child who went missing a couple years ago is also reported missing”) so there’s that… but I feel like something else has gone down, something more related to this game
I saw the nuclear explosion and I immediately said "The End Is Nigh" And it makes sense. There's a city (the alley), a desert (the arids flats/gloom), a sewers (ruin), etc All this makes a chronological order. First Isaac, then mewgenics, then tEIn and you have to put the Stevens there, maybe in the end of the chronological line...

Watching the original teaser from 12 years ago, and then watching this now, this is a MASSIVE glow up. The first teaser was cute and charming, but this one blows it out of the water tenfold.

The shops and greed mode are heavily associated with greed and gambling, so it's not a stretch to say that Isaac interpreted his Father's addiction and greed as greed mode and all the shop related characters. If you pay attention to their sprites, you'd notice that every single one has a noose around its neck, including Ultra Greed who is literally hanging from a noose in his boss room. I said "implied", not "factually stated"
