I’m born in the midst of The Skuleskogen about 56 years ago. I live in the southern part of Sweden for the last 35 years by now, but Skuleskogen will always be a part of me.
I think y'all have done an awesome job with your children. They have traveled the world met different people in very different cultures. They have learned two languages. Seen magical views most of us will not see in a lifetime. Every day y'all get to be with your children without a lot of negativity in this world. Hence me!!! Y'all have taught them to be adventurous, free spirit, independent and enjoy life. You guys are amazing parents!!!
Thanks Blair! Just doing the best we can, but realistic that we are not perfect. Everyone makes mistakes. I am blushing, really, thanks for the thoughtful comment and really understanding our WTing philosophy and lifestyle. You got it correct, as much time as we can get with them the better. They will take flight before we know it, boo hoo.
I fully agree. We have spend our 3 week summer vacation in Sweden. Our first time was in 2012 and since then we went back every year. Our "other" home land. No worries about your kids. You have learned and given them the space to learn and experience other environments and cultures. If you guys want to make a stop in The Netherlands, feel free to contact us. Camperplace in The Hague with a free city tour of The Hague & Amsterdam! Keep it up!
It is an amazing country. Thanks for sharing your thoughts. Do you have a website? We are not sure if we are coming to The Hague yet, but are entertaining it.
@@WorldTowning I don't have a website, but you can contact me if you guys are coming on eric.sens@deudekom.nl. Most welcome and I would love to show you some nice spots in The Hague, Rotterdam and Amsterdam.
As beautiful as Sweden is, I don't think I've ever seen a grown man get so emotional over poop pumping facilities (LOL). Reason enough for you all to skip Southeast Asia (where by the way the kids may have to be on a bit of a shortened chain). Thanks for sharing insights on how the kids adapt to this lifestyle. Keep on towning it.
Next time you come to Sweden in August-October, make sure to contact local friluftsföreningar (outdoor clubs) to learn more about the goodies you can find in the woods. Many of them are happy to guide you through all the free delectables you can find in the woods. A LOT of Swedes enjoy berries and mushroom picking. We all look for the forest gold: chanterelles. Slice them, fry them in heavy butter, garlic, salt and pepper and put on toast. Heaven, I tell you. It's ah-mazing.
Slowing down is a wonderful thing to do - especially nowadays. The serenity found in nature can never be replaced. Asia believe me is very interesting - but to live there no way. Have travelled much in my life - but my niche lies here in Switzerland. All the best.
Great vlogg, first one of yours I have seen! You must have passed my town, Sundsvall, about mid day. Welcome to Sweden, and I’m glad you liked ’my’ part of it.
The portion where you wash off the dye.. it's actually not allowed to wash of any chemical substances, including car wash etc.. in areas apart from the designated ones. It's because we may end up contaminating the ground water, lakes etc.. enjoy. Visit Sweden again. 🙂👍
We will like to see more of #TeamJess Especially because of the Is speechless moments that she shared with us this is so amazing to see how even your face AND expression change So for me is always greatttttttt to see and share those moments that Jess is doing... BRAVO..!!!!!
So . . . I've got a crazy idea! I'm looking to move to Sweden and custom build an RV that will have all the amenities of a micro studio within 28 feet. My concern was having to a lot of $$$ for long-term parking so that I can take public transit in the city for work. Can you share how you find your parking? Thanks for sharing your journey.
12:46 You say that August is probably the warmest month, but I think I would argue that July is often warmer. August can be warm too, but it's the start of the end of summer, and the further north you are, the shorter the summers are. :) In north of Sweden there can be snow on the ground as late as May.
I am just wondering: what is your opinion about Largo not being allowed to walk on U.S. streets on his own at an age of 11? An interesting fact. A Swedish billionaire was interwieved by a U.S. journalist about the high taxes in Sweden. His answer was: I like to pay high taxes because I do not want to life in a country where poverty exists and where poor people have no chance to get proper education (unless they are involved in extreme debt).
Are kids age 11 not allowed to walk alone in the US? We have been away for a while. What about kids walking home from school? I love the idea of the progressive tax system. As long as it's not abused.
Another great episode! By the way, there WAS a season of TAR that had kids in it (a family edition), but it was a bit lame because they only stayed within the U.S.
firewood in the rest area. sweden has the largest amount of forest cover (almost 70%) of any country in europe as a percent of it's total area and also the most number of forested hectares. where there are forests there are people with chainsaws whose job it is to cut them down. it is not surprising therefore that the swedish govt has a few logs to give away.
Hey Nan! Hope things are great with you. We are currently in Japan. Expected things to be super crazy with tourists, but we are in Kyoto and there are no tourists to be found.
World Towning hi guys!! Doing well!! I thought you were in Japan but I couldn’t find the last video I saw. Please stay safe with the virus that’s going around.
There is actaly nothing like national park as other countries think of them.....If you are driving or towing or tenting youre place to stay....free to do so. max2 days in not less than out of sight of houses 100-150 m...the wods are free.
Hi we are planning for a Sweden and Norway RV tour , it’s a family of 4, we tried few places seems it’s very expensive £3000 for 2 weeks, Do you know where to get cheaper? Thanks Sabbir
If you are willing to start driving from the Netherlands, you may want to check out an RV rental place called Happy Campers. This may have better rates. Good luck. Sweden and Norway are amazing.
I addressed the lens issue in another comment. As for the names. Well, we do our best. I believe we respect the places we visit in more ways than not, but it is not always easy to pronounce or remember the names when often have several names within a day or a matter of hours.
@@WorldTowning Forgive me if I come across like an ass... I swear I respect what you guys are doing and I doubt I could come close to keeping it together as well as you do. I've watched so many (almost all!) of your vids and I adore you all... honest. But you get sloppy sometimes, probably because you are stretched beyond your capacities.I know you take pride in your business so I guess I feel compelled to speak up and remind you. Sorry again if I am rude. It's not my intent. I love you guys.. please take care and maybe slow down just a bit? :)

Thank you so much. Working on the next episode now. Watching the footage, I am falling in love with Sweden again.
You can just use lake water. Almost every streams and lake in Sweden is clean. 🙂
You guys should be hired to promote tourism in Sweden. You've got me convinced to go... and half way convinced to move there! :)
Me too!! I would have never thought of Sweden!😍
Great idea. Call us Sweden. We loved it so much. Yes, go. You will love it, but don't go in winter. Ha

Nice to see that you enjoyed Skule. I live under an hour away but only been there like once I think, except for snowboarding a few times.
You need to come to New Zealand the motorhome paradise.
We hope to in 2020, but might try to do it by bike or something else. Or hiking, maybe???

Really? Maybe this is a viable concept. How fun would that be?

Sorry to correct you but, Finland have 75-80% forest cover of the total area.
Jarpa But Sweden have more lakes. (Finns proudly. call Finland the land of a thousand lakes)😂
Team sports? Ur kids have mastered way more than a routine sport. They are living outside the box!!
Thanks Madeline, it really works for us. Glad we it happened this way.
You're great parents.
Big hug, thanks.
I hope there are no any dangerous animals around, it seems like a thick forest.
How did you get ur camper to Europe ? Boat?
We bought ours in France. Much easier 😅.
Dirt road or not, you still need to keep an eye on the road, because... moose
I know, I really was not going fast and I would never want to hit an animal. Won't do it again.
Where are you guys now? Are you all well?
