How to make floor lamp from branch of the tree

When I trimmed my tree in the front yard, I found a branch that would be useful. so I tried to make a floor lamp for our living room.
The lampshades were a very difficult part of the project. I used rice porridge mix with flour and cooked in liquid until it’s thick and creamy, then brushed on the lampshade. let the fabric on the shade turn harder like the plastic.

Does it need drying first or you can use the branch right after cutting it off?

Yes, I put those branches in garage about 4 or 5 month for drying.
