Now I'm no game dev or programmer, however if we set the desync aside, it seems to me that the main issue with blocking not working is due to a majority of the weapon hitboxes spawning in when it is already behind the shield, if this is the case, I believe this could mostly be fixed by extending the hitbox of the shield further back towards the player model. Again, im no game dev, i could be way off the mark. On a side note, i love protection pots, however im a big fan of "temporary health" in video games and thats exactly how I look at protection pots, one of my favorite perks in the game is wizards reactive shield. Im a fighter main and the most fun ive ever had is a full tank and resourcefulness bonk wizard with sprinkled in will and buff duration running reactive shield and arcane shield. I'm sure it would be rather diffucult to balance but I would love to see them experiment with more temporary health mechanics, skills and perks.
If I had they keys to the game I would rework melee combat. More alternative swing patterns on all weapons. Ripostes on more weapons like rapiers, quarterstaff. Shield slams available on every shield by default. Weapon clashes. Reworked shield hitboxes. Special combos when you dual-wield. Longswords have a parry timing window instead of people standing there holding right click for 3 minutes while you stab them in a toe. Landing from a jump or high fall kills your momentum so you can't bunny hop away while reloading a crossbow or charging a spell or bandaging mid fight. There's so many issues with basic combat that can be fixed or changed before we even look at perks.
soma great podcast alsohyped for the 3 skill slots but could you remind someone in ironmace that ranger exist its super forgotten class would be very gratefull
Arenas kinda ruined the game for me. The whole gameplay loop is now about farming gear for arenas where arena has no risk for said gear. The one dude who said that when demons glee comes out the game will fall apart is mostly right. Crafted gear is so far beyond what can drop normally. Buying gear is pointless since only minted gear works for arenas. If you didnt mint it you cant run it. Not to mention arena is STILL only up on weekends because it actually DOES cannibalize players from the 'real' game. And arenas are simply just not that fun. It feels like more of a playtest mode than the normal game. No risk, no reward. Positioning and movespeed are king. Whatever team reaches high ground first wins. Despite the variety in team comps a lot of matches play out the same because theres STILL no talent trees and classes are still very rock-paper-scissors. I run 10 spell and every match I'm against a rouge l just throw light orbs at chokepoints and they can never push me. Its not fun to invalidate another class simply by existing. Gear changes and being able to instantly go to crypts/inferno are great changes. But i still dislike how much loot is designed around basetypes and the actual modifiers are "max health, additional damage, move speed, armor rating" etc. Its all numbers and nothing really changes how you play other than what attribute you stack. Its very boring to create builds in this game because regardless of what you're doing you're stacking the same stats. Best patch since steam release. But a lot of fundamental issues with the game are still there. For instance, i love the new crystal sword block. But the second you select a spell on wizard, you can't un-select it and lose the block forever. This comment is too long already, but i could go on. The fun of the game is diminished by the 1,000 tiny annoyances that all add up. Arenas doesn't solve anything and i honestly believe it takes away from the game. But i see people ingame who have spent ten times what i have on cosmetics saying otherwise so what do i know?
the last boss in inferno needs to be like dark souls a one way entrance so people can not just grief. if you want to fight the boss and the team doing it great but just holding the doorway and shoot spells/arrows from it is dumb. also mud shield needs to follow your cursor so you can cast it to the side turn 90 degrees and cast another spell. i actually did go to iron mace and met sdf got to check out the studio. i forgot the names of the other two employees but i got to meet the person who designs weapons and the lady who designs the races. i asked for one thing when i was addressing sdf and it was when i get a block with bardiche/quarterstaff or shields there needs to be a stagger or a knockback. sdf does not know english all to well but the weapon designer translated he understood they both seem to like it. the worst thing about blocking is that the enemy can keep chaining attacks you get no opening.
I love the druid brainrot hate🤣🤣 @ 40:00, I've played druid in every game that has it and it always gets shit on and is the least favorite child so I'm so used to this kind of malding lol
@ sure I can - it’s exactly the same as a rogue except it has far more mobility and you can’t even hit panthers with daggers because of the janky hit box
I was hoping the randomized dungeon would shake up the game more, but it sorta feels like more of the same. Idk. Maybe I'm just burnt out on the game. Best part is Inferno pvp rn i suppose.
third skill slot is god awful. Just going to be busted and everyone's going to still continue to pick the same things. And ruin any kind of build options, with less give and take. Now if it was just a pve skill then sure.
I don't have anything against Endboss, seriously. But the level of negativity and pot stirring he brought to the podcast this episode made it very difficult to watch at a lot of points
I agree cleric needs more casts with smaller healing, so they can be interactive. The reason IM feels cleric needs strong burst healing to be competitive is because the game STILL has too much strong burst damage. Two sides of the same coin, flip cleric over and you're looking right at all the 1 shot BS each class potentially has.
these guys must not play cleric, cleric main since play test #2. they need strong heals just put diminishing returns on multiple heals. cleric caster is fucked as a solo they need help in that department besides the dumb melee paladin build which is against the whole premesis of a support class
Sorc is ridiculous, but at least he doesn’t morph his character model instantly into a tiny mouse, and than block an entire hallway as a bear, than double jump chicken panther at you, and before you even wind up your attack, can morph back into a chicken and jump back. No cooldown, no limit, no charge time, and can reset better than any class, and can heal like a cleric. Vault Druid,
“Druid is actually very hard and skill expressive.” 🤓☝️ Vault it.. shapeshifting has NO place in this game. Every other class is human shaped, arms legs head and torso, even demon has a human shaped body and is considered “weak” because he bleeds out so quick. Druid is op no matter what. -25 to 600 gs..
you do understand the instant you dont have a weapon in ur hand ur gettin tapped down by panther in less than the time to swap back to your weapon and swing once
You guys are all missing the point about Druid. You are all stuck in the box. Sobad saying Druid SS CDs would brick the class is completely wrong. Druid is better at shape SHIFTING than actually USING the shapes. So much of their power budget is put into SHIFTING shapes that the shapes are all gimped. That's why Druid feels so bad, that's why it feels so bad to play and play against. And the people who adapted and got guud at shapeshifting is stuck to this mentality that that's how it should be - like Sobad. Sobad I love you so much, huge fan. L TAKE. GUT DRUID SHAPE SHIFTING. LIFT UP DRUID SHAPES (AND SPELLS).
Best way to balance druid is remove spell memory and give them something akin to Mana (or Spirit), that is used for both transformation and spells, forcing them to manage their resources a lot more sparingly. They regen Spirit like they would for spell memory points. Also, always appreciate the podcast Soma (and Jay too I guess :P)
-They need to do something about how bosses work. Having people come in and grief boss fights and run out is not fun. And if you decide to cancel the boss and pursue the fight, even if you clear that opponent, with continous dungeon, there is no saying when the next person/team will spawn in to contest boss. Griefing boss fights is still a problem without continous dungeons, but the problem is amplified within this system. -lich and warlord should get two separate rooms instead of rotation. -nerf weapon mastery on fighter. 10% on phys dmg and 15% on magic dmg. -make plate armor and bows incompatible. -nerf parry bonus damage -nerf barb base attributes. They have too much base stats. - nerf sorc electric field. Tune down the slow effect on lightning beam. -make all spells based on mana and/or cooldowns. Campfires could be the way to speed it up. -let fughters regain 2nd wind from restinf, but make it much faster with campfires. -let rangers replenish their rations by campfiring -make all crafts visible on merchants, but locked behind affinity(this is not my idea. I saw it on a youtubers vdeo. I have a iterated version, but the main idea was his). -give all shields a counterattack effect without the movespeed bonus. Hitting someone's shield, should come at a cost. I should not be able to just willy spam someone blocking me. Blocking is a skill and should have a reward. -give all melee weapons some form of block/parry mechanic. -remove continous dungeons. Make each layer its own instance where it mixes players from each lobby. Don't open each layer after 2 min, but make it open sooner than previously before contionous dungeons. -make all extracts/down portals/down stairs be an interactable instance where you have to interact with before you leave. I dont mean interact to open and then you can run around and jump in when the wind starts blowing around your ears. No make it like the rope in goblin cave, where you need to interact with it, and when the interaction is complete, you move to the next floor or get extracted. This is such an easy fix for people running away from fights. -make doors locked on first interaction. So you need to spend time opening a door the first time, so you cant just skip mobs. However after yhe door has been opened, it now is a instant close and open or at least ir would be as fast to open or close as it is to close now. Doors should not function as a barrier that you can use to cover your escape. -squish enchantment rolls. The increments of power between each rarity should be as small as possible to maintain steady gear progression, while making the gear gap between the best and worse gear as small as possible. Either take away armor increase between tiers, or make armor increase at the cost of base attributes not increasing. Just increasing one, will maintain gear progression. Having both increase uneccessarily increases the gap between gear tiers. Having one parameter scale is sufficient. -give rangers a temporary slot for arrows until they can properly implement quivers. For instance before arrows were an item, you had infinte arrows, and just had to reload. Instead of infinite, you could have a number show up telling you have x amount of arrows left. Picking up arrows when that number is full, could put additional arrows in your inventory. I suggest the arrow count be around 40-50. 60 is too much. -change how aggro works on bosses. Right now bosses behave too erratic and can change aggro midway through an animation. Some bosses almost requires that you solo them, even when you are playing with a trio. -increase the amount of gold you can hold in a container. If gold storage becomes abundant enough, it will automatically devalue keys. Maybe even remove trading post and increase the trade cap on market to 100k
@@yamackoman3608im fine with contest over valuable targets and pois. But what ends happening now is that it becomes a Mexican standoff. No one really wants to be the ones doing the boss. And bosses like trolls are so easy to grief. A person only needs to walk into the room and it messes ut up. So they can walk in and out just to grief. I just think there needs to be a rework of how it works. I dont know the solution.
@@matt-z5j yeah the game is now third and thirder. constant third party, you can't have a second to prepare for next fight, people are coming in constantly and you can't even looot the previous fight
Shapeshifting solution: movement speed, action speed and jumping height penalty for a certain period of time with every transformation (unless you transform back to human. Penalty would still be there whenever tranforming into animals.) I'd say just 1 second penalty duration. EDIT: About the removing of solo queue suggestion: Instead of just removing it, what if Ironmace can somehow bring people together for a common purpose that doesn't require matchmaking all the time. For example, you find people in the dungeon, you have friendly conversations and eventually you guys make a "contract" , a deal to team up and join the group for the rest of the dungeon.

Sorc is overtuned cheesy bs but hey lets waste 10 minutes crying cause arguably the best player in the game made a Timmy look stupid with druid shapeshifts that have always been instant in any depiction imaginable.
Top right guy speaking actual common sense on Druid. People say manipulating body is easy, it’s just as easy in human. The only person who said anything that makes sense (though he was the most annoying on the pod) is bottom middle. Make you have to return to human form. That could actually work, as it still allows rat/chicken swap dodging, rat through door, and can even Panther human jump, or if you get goated wittit, swap Panther jump, human swap, chicken swap double jump.
I hate to say it but removing solos and duos I think would massively help the balance and direction of the game and I say this as primarily a solo player
The player base is massively divided having a ton of different queues and I also think as a by product high roller would become a little less sweaty and more fun to play, casuals can learn the game easier because they have a team and competitive players get more to chew on and learn with more variables in the fight.
AP rewards are pretty much the only reason to actually purchase the game. Why put such a high barrier on the only thing people want/that makes you money? L take.

If anything druid just needs a cd on each form, if you go rat, you cant go rat for another 6 seconds etc. So you can still do some shenanigans but not endlessly.
CASTING ignite/invis on Wizard and it hits a dead mob instead of working on one’s self.. is extremely frustrating.
Look up as practice; less likely to hit a mob
Can't wait for the spell reflect, perfect block, shield bash fighter.
everybody forgets about bard silence skill
Wait it’s not there anymore ?
It’s just not good at all tho
I was so excited for randomization and the new wipe.
But the sorc release shit the bed so hard, and the continuous (same lobby visits) and instant-down just ruins the spirit of the game for me.
I quit on day 1 of the wipe, and haven't been back. I miss it but only a little.
I usually like SoBad but man a lot of his takes are SoBad. Instant shapeshift druid is ridiculous. Change it.
Your opinion
He was right though. Druid is kinda hard to play and doesn't have anything else except at the highest gas it can be full pdr support.
Sobad has all bad takes
It would ruin the class
The yappening. The yap boss strikes again.
Sobad saying he cant play arena cause he doesnt have total BIS is kinda cringe. Like get a purple and throw 3 gems on it. Itll be fine. Most trio fights are won by positioning not the 1 extra damage on your legendary weapon
Ken said the same
@ if you mean ken also said he can’t play without BIS then ken is cringe too. I was half listening so maybe I missed it.
Just openly saying “I gear crutch and can’t play without it” is wild
soma if you read this can you ask sdf to put the arcane hood and gloves in the squire, i think they forgot
The thing about nerfing instant transform is druid then loses the pounce chicken jump tech and instantly becomes terrible
They should just make the transforms have cooldowns individually. You still get all the tech but it isnt spammable
Just make it so druid takes some dmg when they shape change or after 6 changes the next one has to be human.
lol remember how skinny and sick looking ken used to be what a change
soma great podcast alsohyped for the 3 skill slots but could you remind someone in ironmace that ranger exist its super forgotten class would be very gratefull
so many fizzled spells
Uploaded just in time for my graveyard shift, hell yeah
So is Spuddy done? I kinda checked out for a while from the dark and darker scene. Im out of the loop.
He left the pod, but still plays DaD from time to time.
I love the druid brainrot hate🤣🤣 @ 40:00, I've played druid in every game that has it and it always gets shit on and is the least favorite child so I'm so used to this kind of malding lol
Still 4 tapping with stupid panther form so it’s a problem. 😊
@@LA-hx7iy yeah and panther is literally one or two hits from death, you cant have it both ways bubba.
@ sure I can - it’s exactly the same as a rogue except it has far more mobility and you can’t even hit panthers with daggers because of the janky hit box
I want necromancer or conjurer class
I like ene boss , but yea man you gotta watch the episode over again to see how much talking over you do, and try to avoid it next time
i think ghost king portal should open instantly
w
can someone link me the repoze clip they are talking about with the druid form swaping
When are you going to put this up on Spotify?
I was hoping the randomized dungeon would shake up the game more, but it sorta feels like more of the same. Idk. Maybe I'm just burnt out on the game. Best part is Inferno pvp rn i suppose.
Let sorc hold a lantern and cast with other hand
third skill slot is god awful. Just going to be busted and everyone's going to still continue to pick the same things. And ruin any kind of build options, with less give and take.
Now if it was just a pve skill then sure.
I like all these guys individually but when everyone is talking (sometimes yelling) over each other i turn it off. Sry guys
I don't have anything against Endboss, seriously. But the level of negativity and pot stirring he brought to the podcast this episode made it very difficult to watch at a lot of points
ken kobi with the L takes talkin bout some nerf shreik on bosses....
43:30 holy shit based so bad
I agree cleric needs more casts with smaller healing, so they can be interactive. The reason IM feels cleric needs strong burst healing to be competitive is because the game STILL has too much strong burst damage. Two sides of the same coin, flip cleric over and you're looking right at all the 1 shot BS each class potentially has.
these guys must not play cleric, cleric main since play test #2. they need strong heals just put diminishing returns on multiple heals. cleric caster is fucked as a solo they need help in that department besides the dumb melee paladin build which is against the whole premesis of a support class
So bad trying to defend Druid is crazy funny lmao he’s part of the problem
Sorc is ridiculous, but at least he doesn’t morph his character model instantly into a tiny mouse, and than block an entire hallway as a bear, than double jump chicken panther at you, and before you even wind up your attack, can morph back into a chicken and jump back. No cooldown, no limit, no charge time, and can reset better than any class, and can heal like a cleric. Vault Druid,
“Druid is actually very hard and skill expressive.” 🤓☝️
Vault it.. shapeshifting has NO place in this game. Every other class is human shaped, arms legs head and torso, even demon has a human shaped body and is considered “weak” because he bleeds out so quick.
Druid is op no matter what. -25 to 600 gs..
people cry about repoze's druid clip, but the bullshit is easily countered with 2 explosive bottles max
If stupid druids who are shapeshifting in rat form until the bottle swapped and throwed.
Yeah bro force everyone to bring in explosive bottles to counter one class. L ass take.
you do understand the instant you dont have a weapon in ur hand ur gettin tapped down by panther in less than the time to swap back to your weapon and swing once
@@Phrax10k keep dying to druids then
These enemies in repoze clip were bots
20mins in, already sick of endboss manchild attitude
-nerf parry bonus damage
-nerf barb base attributes. They have too much base stats.
- nerf sorc electric field. Tune down the slow effect on lightning beam.
-make all spells based on mana and/or cooldowns. Campfires could be the way to speed it up.
-let fughters regain 2nd wind from restinf, but make it much faster with campfires.
-let rangers replenish their rations by campfiring
-make all crafts visible on merchants, but locked behind affinity(this is not my idea.
Bosses have valuable rewards, its not meant for you to kill it without any issues or risks, thats the point.
God awful takes I’m ngl
Some good, more than some bad
yES SIR from quebec here
Shapeshifting solution: movement speed, action speed and jumping height penalty for a certain period of time with every transformation (unless you transform back to human.
That would kill the class
a druid shouldnt be good in solos, they are a jack of all traits but suck at all of it in wow :d
Kens get based takes i agree with like everything but having 10 ppl countering me in solo inferno or ice when im doing boss i like the pvp but like its so annoying to have people constantly spawning in and rushing you
for the algo!
5TH PERK SLOT IM PLEASE I BEG
Wipe hype
torture mastery should be a automatic perk for warlock
Nah
ew do not turn off Find in Raid. Do not cook.
Sorc is overtuned cheesy bs but hey lets waste 10 minutes crying cause arguably the best player in the game made a Timmy look stupid with druid shapeshifts that have always been instant in any depiction imaginable.
Ken is daddy
Hey Soma ask SDF to make a turtle skin and have it released at same time as he Monk.
3 skills would be so awesome brooo
I don't wanna hear Endboss say anything about druid being op with clerics two tapping me every game.
holy skill issue, cleric is not even an offensive class.
I agree, im also mostly a solo but this game just needs to be trio
Why not just balance for trios
The player base is massively divided having a ton of different queues and I also think as a by product high roller would become a little less sweaty and more fun to play, casuals can learn the game easier because they have a team and competitive players get more to chew on and learn with more variables in the fight.
pogging
Would love to see papichulo, Apollo and x3coop on the pod!
Getting demigod shouldn’t just be achievable for everyone imo.. It’s mainly focused on PvE and gathering treasure. Should have more PvP involved etc.
there are tons of people who dont get it already. youre just trying to remove stuff from others for no benefit other than ego boost
AP rewards are pretty much the only reason to actually purchase the game. Why put such a high barrier on the only thing people want/that makes you money? L take.
endboss has the most brainless takes, actual boomer
First!
Worst episode so far. Brain rot
Thanks my dude
they should put a gold fine by a experienced player killing brandnew players for no reason
Or a bounty system so people are rewarded for killing people that like to kill brand-new players.
