The art of the #commessofiorentino has its origins in the #renaissance with the #Medicifamily and it has been handed down over the centuries in the workshops of the #tuscan capital. The manufacturing process begins with the research for the stones on the hills and along the rivers. The artist decides the subject to be created or agrees with the client then he creates the design on glossy paper and he transfers it to adhesive paper. The "macchiatura" that is the selection of materials and shades in the stone is the fundamental phase. The cutting of each single piece is performed with a bow and a wire. The composition is glued on the back with #bees wax and pine tree resin then hand polished to highlight all the natural colors of the stones. The Florentine Commesso technique is in the hands of a few remaining #artists around the world so it is a heritage to be handed down over the centuries as a great treasure.
L'arte del Commesso Fiorentino fonda le sue origini nel Rinascimento con la famiglia dei Medici e si è tramandata nei secoli nelle botteghe del capoluogo toscano. Il processo di lavorazione inizia con la ricerca delle pietre sulle colline e lungo i fiumi. L'artista decide il soggetto da realizzare o lo concorda con il cliente, crea il disegno su carta lucida per poi trasferirlo su carta adesiva. La "macchiatura" ossia la selezione dei #materiali e delle sfumature nella pietra è la fase fondamentale. Il taglio di ogni singolo pezzetto viene eseguito con un archetto ed un filo di ferro. La composizione è incollata nella parte posteriore con c'era d'api e pece greca in seguito lucidata a mano per evidenziare tutti i colori naturali delle pietre. La tecnica del Commesso fiorentino è nelle mani di pochi artisti rimasti in tutto il mondo perciò è un patrimonio da tramandare nei secoli come un grande tesoro.
