    Probably should have tested it before installing it, but nice work otherwise.

    I just installed ny roof vent after watching your video, thanks for the help. I drilled holes through the metal cross bracing and screwed the wood to them. Nice and strong

      Glad the video helped! I ended up doing the same with some brackets to firm it all up. I wish I documented how I did the wiring but I did all that off camera since I’m no professional. I’m considering putting one more vent in towards the back of the trailer now. Thanks for watching!

    THanks for the video. The fact that fit so well with drilling the corners through the wood and sheet metal was incredibly tight! Nice work!

    I finished installing my roof vent on my 7x16 cargo trailer conversion about two hours ago. I agree it feels great to have it done. And the anticipation was worse than the actual job. Very happy with how mine turned out too.

    Good video Justin, I also have a new trailer than needs a roof fan/vent, to cold now up here in Canada so will give me time to watch install videos. Glad you used the proper install tape as some guys use super p/l type caulking and if it fails, they will never get it off.

      Thank you for watching and for the comment! I did my research prior to installing as it pained me to cut into a brand new trailer. After close to 6 months of use, Michigan weather changes and temperature swings, there’s no signs of leaks. I feel comfortable after doing it once, but as said in the video, take your time and you’ll be fine! Thanks again

    • @JBOutdoors
      @JBOutdoors  Год назад

      I need to do an update video, At the time I did this video, I didn't have anything ready for the electrical, but I've since added an on board 12v 125 amp/hr battery and wired a switch panel to it. One of the switches turns the whole panel on, two switches for lights and one switch for the roof fan. Thank you and sorry for the delay in my response!

    Looks good. Great step by step. I am hesitant to cut that hole in my roof but this may have convinced me that it is not too tough of a job. Thx.

      Trust me that was tough to make that first hole and cut. I don’t blame you at all. Luckily it all went really smooth and was a boost in my confidence once it was all done. Hopefully it helps for the better for you and your project. Thanks for watching! Take care

    • @JBOutdoors
      @JBOutdoors  10 месяцев назад

      @@PelonDeArizona it moves enough air it will put a vacuum on the trailer if you don’t have windows in it or the door open some. I’ve since put 3 windows in mine and like to keep each of them about half open when I have the fan on to create a nice breeze when there’s no wind. The wiring would be better described in a video, I’m happy to share! Thanks again I appreciate the support! Work gets busy and projects go to the wayside

    what do you think about where you put it? as far as air flow. would you put it farther forward in the trailer or farther to the back? or do you think it's good where it's at?

    • @JBOutdoors

      This was something I thought long and hard about. I like my location with future plans to add a 2nd one proportionally correct further back in the trailer. The second might just be a vent, but will be directly above where our bed is now. Thank you for watching and commenting! I hope this video helped

      Hello, my trailer is a 2023 model I purchased late 2022 with only a 6 month warranty included. I waited until this warranty was up before cutting any holes. I'm extremely happy with the roof fan! I need to make an update video of the build. Thank you for commenting, sorry for the delay!

  • @1EVILZ06
    @1EVILZ06 Год назад

    You’re going to, our already have run into a problem. Your insert trim piece is going to hit the roof cross brace. The fan should’ve been mounted further away from the roof brace. You could just cut that side completely off the insert. And use the other three sides to mount it.

    • @JBOutdoors
      @JBOutdoors  Год назад +1

      I think I got lucky and there was enough space for it with a 1/4 inch to spare. I wanted it mounted to something solid without reframing the room. I just finished the ceiling in Eastern red cedar, turned out amazing! Thanks for watching

    One more comment, it would be nice if these fans came with a template for cutting the hole.

    • @JBOutdoors
      @JBOutdoors  2 года назад +1

      Absolutely, some of the videos I watched showed different brands of vents that came with that template outlined on the original package that’s a brilliant idea, I was bummed this known brand didn’t offer it.
