It’s amazing you guys got to finally see this exhibit. As much as many of us love the movie, it’s harrowing to see the real artifacts and learn all the details of this horrid tragedy. I did the exhibit that was in NYC a while back and I was definitely emotionally exhausted and humbled by the end of it all.

We did this in October 23, it was surprisingly a very emotional experience especially touching a piece of the ship.
It’s quite surreal to know that on every photograph or video clip of the Titanic that you’ve ever seen during your life, the piece you can touch, the piece you have touched is there. It’s been on a journey through time, it’s been present at the launch, at the beginning of that fateful journey, it was shaken by the iceberg and it sank to the bottom of the ocean and now you can actually touch it!
Quite emotional for anyone who’s had a fascination for the Titanic since being a child

I work at the museum in Hershey, Pennsylvania that holds the receipt for Milton S. Hershey (and his wife)'s cancelled ticket for the Titanic after they had to reschedule their return from Europe. Thinking about everything he did with his life and legacy after that trip - especially as a fellow "Titanic Girlie" - is sobering.
I used to have a piece of "Titanic coal" that I would just hold sometimes in its little baggie but it sadly got lost in a move years ago.

I went to Belfast couple of years ago and visited the museum. It was touching and humbling and there was so much to learn. It drags you into the story of how the ship was built, who the passengers were, how life was back then. It doesn't leave you unbothered.

I know you guys likely aren't looking to travel to the middle of the country....buuuuttttttt if you ever get a hankering, you should absolutely visit Branson, Missouri! Theres a large theme park (Silver Dollar City) and a nice Titanic museum, as well as many other attractions (aquarium, wax museum, Ripley's museum, restaurants, kids stuff, etc)! It may be the nostalgia in me speaking, but Silver Dollar City rivals many theme parks across the country. Worth looking into for something out of your "norm" 😊

Blair, from Dundee, Scotland, served as the Titanic's original second officer, but was replaced at the last minute and left the ship in Southampton, saving his life. In his haste to disembark, however, he forgot to leave a key which was needed in the crow's nest to access binoculars and a telescope. It's good that they include that little snippet in the film.

It took my breath away the second I walked in the room. The rest of the exhibit was pretty exactly the same as this one. I lived in California at the time and I didn’t even bother going to that exhibit. I knew the Vegas one was much more engaging and had more artifacts including the big piece. Another stunning artifact was some stacks of plates, arranged as they were found at the bottom of the ocean. Anyway thanks it was cool to see what another exhibit had to offer. I still think the Luxor hotel exhibit is a bit better than this one

I used to work in Belfast. My office for a few weeks was in the harbor area. I ate lunch everyday outside right next to the slip that the titanic was built in. It is empty to this day. They never built another ship there.

Love Alan’s face when Molly goes off on movie memories 😂 Just wait till you guys go to the Titanic Museum and Exhibition in Belfast. It was breathtaking and eye opening. You could probably drop her off in the morning and pick her up in the evening and she will be stuck in movie quote mode hehe

You guys are the best! You’re able to see both the interesting, fun and also human and moving aspects to attractions. Molly, you just have a way of letting me feel what you’re feeling. Another great video. 🫶🏼

Thank you so very much for visiting this for us. My dad and I were obsessed with the Titanic and both loved the movie too. I think I’ll skip taking my kids there before our Disney Cruise though. 😢

Hmmm. A badly timed Holland America ALASKA LINE commercial played during this episode lol
