- After a year of testing 2 stock radiator fans and 1 SPAL aftermarket fan, I've finally found the best solution to resolve any remaining heating issues with my 2015 RC390. In this video, we recap what steps we took in the first 2 videos of the series and dive deeper into the effect the radiator fan and brake caliper pistons could have on your motorcycle's heat management.

Great video.. do you know if the duke 390 adventure radiator will fit on the duke 390 bs3?
Doubt it will. The 390 adventure's radiator is larger and has 2 radiator fans.
As always a very useful and informative video. Why don't you use motul 300v? Give it a try. It's fully synthetic and the grade is 15w50 which is the factory recommended grade.
Thank you Shaswat. I used to use the stock Motul oil from the service center before but switched between a few oils before finally using the Castrol Power 1 Racing oil. I'm a firm believer of not fixing something that isn't broken and since the overheating issues have been sorted out , I haven't tried another oil since. Plus the castrol 10w50 is a bit easier on the pocket than the motul v2 range ;)
Bro new gen rc 390 has curved radiator bro will it fit in old gen rc 390?
Not too sure about that. I think the new one has dual radiator fans too so it may not be possible.
Can it be changed to 2015 rc 390 plz check let me
I'm gonna buy Dominar in next 10 days I think this video will be helpful in the future...
I hope you don't have to watch this video to sort out issues. Ride safe and congratulations on the new bike.
0:13 is that a that's what she said joke 👀
Also thanks for solving my heating issues 😂😂 we want more bloopers..!!
After watch the whole video I realised my bike doesn't even have a fan lmao😂
But more information is always better though thanks 🤟🏼😉
Hahah missed opportunity this time. Will add Michael Scott in the next video. Thanks for watching bro.
Ah that's usefull for my friend 🔥🔥🔥
Glad you found it helpful Hari. Ride safe bro
Bro, is it possible to fit adventure 390 cooling system in rc 390? Please tell, I ride hard in the twisties and gets very hot because of riding in higher rpms…my head gaskets also blow up twice a year 😔
Bro which company coolent is best for ktm rc390
Can 2019 fan be fitted without any modification to2017 duke and would like to know how much it costed.
I didn't have to make any modifications to install the 2019 fan. Not too familiar with the duke's setup but I don't think it should be a problem since they share a lot of parts.
Also, I thnk it costed me around 2.7k when I had bought it.
Do the KTM's 200 and 390 have the same cooling system and fan?
The 2015 models did. Not sure about the new ones. I think the RCs share a lot of parts
Thank you, I will now have to do some research on my own.
Hai oggy .. I am planning to go for an upgrade from my 2013 pulsar ns 200 to an rc 390 (bs3). Riding position, heating , practicality is not a problem for me but i am a student and will it be a problem for me to maintain the bike and the fuel economy .
Shouldn't be an issue as long as the one you're buying has been maintained well and you look after it too.
Oggy F what about the fuel economy . I am not living in a place like mumbai or banglore where traffic is terrific . I am from kerala and the traffic here is less . Getting stuck in a heavy traffic won’t happen to me 😛 .... so what i am saying is that the only problem which pull me back from choosing rc 390 is actually it’s mileage.
@@fardhin4251 bro im from kerala and i own a rc 390 bs3 2015 version. For me milage is alright not many complaints considering its a 373cc motor. In really bad traffic i get around 24-28 kmpl.on good open roads cruising u can get upto 35 kmpl.
ASH AJ thanks bro ... 💝💝👍🏼👍🏼
Nice video About Fan issue, I recently having so much trouble of fan for my 200NS. It was problem of Fan stopped moving because of Jamming From inside and it's wiring was burnt inside. I facing it from before lockdown started. I tried to find repairs but after traveling 20 kms in city like Ahmedabad I got only one who did it. I didn't get New because of lockdown issue. I looked for similar fans but not even 1 fan could replace it In last I tried 4.72 inch 3000 RPM PC DC Fan, it worked fine but it didn't Stop running neither heating goes down. I am thinking that after market fan has too high price of 7000 Rs.
I’ve named my car as rage inspired by oggy bro ❤️😍 just wanna meet you Soon 🥺
You forgot the cheapest option, put dry ice in the radiator
🤣
Too lazy to do the research😅 Would the same mod work on RC200 MY2015.
Same frame and I believe same fan too. Should work.
Will try for sure!! Amazing DIY though and thanks for sharing it😊
Hi oggy what oil would you recommend for my 2017 rc 390? I’m confused between Castrol or motul/motulv2
Haven't tried the v2 but I can vouch for the performance of the Castrol 10w50
I guess your dog had a deep bonding with the stock exhaust fan
Hahaha I kept it aside so he could listen to it somewhere in the future 😉

Hahaha only positive reviews of him. May sound like a paid campaign.
My 2018 rc 390 ABS FAILURE error shows up after few kms whenever radiator fan kicks in and i stop at any signal or a halt.. abs wont work till bike again cools down.
Oggy sir big fan from Kolkata ❤
I have a question that is can I use Castrol engine oil 10w50 is it better than motul 7100 10w50?
I own the 2015 RC390 and KTM changed the fan under warranty. Working fine since then. Always had the query regarding the SPAL fan and its longevity, thanks for clearing it out.
That's awesome. I'm guessing you got the one with the shroud then when you changed it over. I'm told they still make that one so if the one you have does give up on you someday, do ask them for the fan from the 2018 models. Ride safe buddy.
So the 2021 rc390 should have this resolved from factory?
Yes, it comes with the new radiator fan.
Other people/other vloggers try to convert their ktm RC/Duke 390 with a dual fans, plus, they even use other fan like Yamaha fans, Kawasaki, Etc... Though the new 2022 ktm rc390 has a dual fan already, so, my question is, is the new ktm rc390 will still overheat or even give problems to its owner?
how much did u pay for the stock fan of ktm rc390 2019 ???
I believe it was around 2.7k
Can I install this fan on my duke 390 2014 model?
Should be possible considering it takes up less space than the original one which had the shroud.
Same bike different problems though, contemplating life choices.
Do you think this will help,
2019 KTM RC FAN + Engine Ice Coolant + LiquiMoly Race ?
Also nice updated transitions, Bane part was so ON POINT !
Haven't had experience with the liqui moly oil but the other 2 changes you've mentioned would definitely help. Bane says thanks... He's the director and editor of my videos.
Its simple physics that oem design was very bad for airflow. I am rebuilding the the cooling system with a new performance non coloured polished aluminium radiator and a dual fan setup with better radiator hose size for more radiator water capacity this would completely eliminate overheating issue for people that are living on hotter climates.
Hey man I’m facing a problem with my duke 200 is that the fan wont turn off once it’s on ive changed the coolant yet im facing this problem
The way you talk about bikes tempts me right now to go and sit on my bike and ride...but it’s raining heavily outside 😅😅
Pls help me bro my gen 3 duke 390 is heating too much
Can u pls ans my query regarding the air intake through air filter.
If u have noticed that dominar 400 and NS 200 have the intake air pipe just over the engine that is below the fuel tank unlike ktm 200 n 390 which located rear side under the seat. So in Dominar n NS the hot air over the engine is feed to air filter n thus to engine. Does it help in milege acceleration n any parameter related to performance ? And if yes does we can also have same steup in KTM .
Pls reply
This is the first time I've heard of the issue you've asked about . Will need to do a bit of research around the topic. Are you or any other Dominar owners experiencing any issues because of this?
@@OggyF i own ktm 390 . It is not an issues it just have different arrangement for air take in bajaj vehicles . Do it have any advantage of hot air intake as compared to cool air. I want to know dis. If it having advantage i will also go for it.
I have heard but not sure if intake is warm air rather than cool it gives better mileage and performances. I just need to confirm it ??
@@amaankhan2775 cold air is better than warm because more air can be supplied in cold rather than hot.this is the reason supersports have a ram air intake

hi oggyf. found a right one i guess. having the same issue with my 2017 ktm rc. but your last point was very sensible.. im getting both my tyres & brake pads checked soon. only recently i'm having this overheating issues in town rides for a short moment (10-15 minutes)
hi oggy!
Hope in future whenever I will purchase a bike I would stick to this points!
As always your vlog was superb👍.
6:00 was 😂
Glad you found the information useful. Thank you for watching. Bane says hi :)
Hi Oggy greeting..
I owe rc390 2015 model. The issue I faced now is that my rear wheel is getting jammed. I checked with the ktm service center. They told me that the rear brake cylinder needs to be changed. But m not sure whether the same problem is the concern because whenever I am stopped because of this issue and I make a reverse drive..( just by pulling the bike backwards) the tyre gets free.. Do let me know what you think..
Have you tried bleeding the brakes? If this doesn't solve the issue and the brakes are getting jammed, then it's probably the master cylinder.
Sir me facing high coolant temperature problem
Because radiator fan is not working 😔
Can I contact you via phone please
Thorough , clear and concise. Thank you 😊
bro it's fit for Duke 390 2015??
Hi oggy, i own a first generation duke 390. Its the first time i hv an unresolved abs issue. My duke is timely serviced. I am not hapy visiting the service center. Any garage network in mumbai i can consult or walk in at? Also, any abs realted video link helps
Speak with either Joshua from @Garage52 on Instagram or Bhojraj from @paceandpixel. They'll sort you out.
Whats the price of the 2019 fan . ?
Hii oggy big fab from bandra bazar road❤️I have rc 200 2014 model can I use Castrol oil on rc 200 plz rep sir.
What's the oil grade that your owner's manual recommends?
Gimme a high 5, no, make it 10 for covering the dreadful flip-flopped riding/rider point!!!!! Seeing the amount of info to match rapid frames - even your editing table must be a freaking jungle out there😁 what I loved about this part was the entire layout of the, shall we say, script? Pretty crisp and smooth. Every point (or fan in this case) had a quick sweet intro, the body, and then a subtle Oggy flavoured humourous closing (flip flop being one of them). And I was hoping you would cover bane, and you did at the closing. And no, I don't like the idea of you surprising him! Let the kid win man!!!😁 Thanks again Oggy. Keep going, keep inspiring🤜🏼🤛🏼
Haha you're too kind UD. Hope all is well with you brother. Hopefully when this all ends we can catch up.Stay safe ✌🏻
Best fan to try is kaithan fans or Usha ke pankhe 😂😂
hi bro, where i can get these fans ?
7k rs wasted
Well it took me to work and back without any issues for 6 months so I'm OK losing 7k for that lol. Thank you for watching. Stay safe bro ✌🏻
Next time use USHA's fan
Post 2017 RC and duke 390 models are very reliable.
Yup, I've not heard too many complaints about overheating from the post-2017 owners.
Mine dont overheat 390 duke 2018 model. Theg fix it already. If you want peace of mind and ok to spend and upgrade get a brushless fan
I had nightmares with the stock radiator fan. I own 2015 RC 390. Initially the radiator fan ran without any problems latter after a year started to give problems. Then in 2018 I changed the fan to the new generation RC series fan. Till date by GOD'S GRACE no such problems encountered.
That's awesome man. Thankfully the new fan was reliable and efficient.
New one was around ₹1600.
I own a yamaha fzs v3 bs6, no heating issues. But I just got to watch your video, coz it's fun 😃
Haha thank you bro ✌🏻😉
SS oils are best for engines
I have a BS6 Dominar which is due its first service and i’ve experiencing that weird sound coming out of the stock fan from the radiator
The sound shouldn't really be an issue... As long as it's keeping the engine temperatures in check.
Brother, really love your contents... Big fan of yours...In love with this Beautiful Bike KTM RC 390 ..😊

thank u bhai i m suffering the problem.since 3 years
thank u soo much
just wanted to ask weather it is the 2018 or 2019 fan which i need to buy
cant wait to drive tension free thank u
Also please check the water pump as sometimes due to excessive and hard revving of the throttle the water pump seals tend to leak and the coolant tends to mix with the engine oil, so make sure the coolant isn't mixing up with your engine oil by keeping a constant check on the coolant level before and after every ride which is easy guy's.
Love it. Liked and subscribed Oggy 👍 greetings from Ireland. Our weather is cold AF but my 2016 duke 390 overheated today... Radiator is clean. Coolant levels are perfect and the fan appears to be working but still overheating. I'm leaning towards temperature sensor...

Oil change interval with Castrol ?
I usually change the oil on my motorcycle every 6,000kms. But I'm pretty sure the castrol one can last until 7.5k kms; which is the service interval recommended by KTM.
As a Duke 390 BS6 owner I must say that the heat management is pretty good this time.
KTM resolved the heating issues on the Duke and the rc with the 2018 models.
@@OggyF Yea!

Hello Brother...
I own KTM RC 390 and i have few queries
1. Is it normal to get 500 to 700ml less engine oil at the time of drainage?
2. Can we keep toping up engine oil after every 1500 kms?
Thanks in advance...
that means ur bore worn out changs the bore n piston don't rebore its waste for 390s
