- Terrifying footage was filmed of a massive tornado was touching down in Nebraska. Video shows swirling storm clouds while a siren sounds in the background as the camera zooms out to reveal the tornado's full scale. Storm chasers also documented a tornado crossing a highway near Omaha, revealing the destructive power of the funnel-shaped storm which flipped a massive big rig truck and flattened nearby homes, ripping them to shreds.

Kudos to the person filming that 2nd video. Great coverage. Calm. Steady. No cussing and screaming... I'm truly impressed.
tornadoes are so crazy..
Right bc I have to mute that other guy
It's rediculous your so offended by a word not even directed at anyone. It's reasonable to use cussing in certain situations. Or just in speak not directed at anyone.
@@geoalmike8498 Go away.
@@TheBourbon88 go ____ yourself. Fill in the blank. Hint it rhymes with buck.
Incredible video. Absolutely incredible. No stupid music. No yelling. Just wind, great force, and carnage.
Tornadoes are cool, I won’t lie. But, I’m going to be THAT person today….it would have been cool if you chose a different word than “carnage,” as this tornado was right across from my family’s house; very scary and stressful for those who were affected by this. Just came off a bit insensitive, that’s all.
Right
I hate stupid music, peoples lives are destroyed!
@@cassidys100 I have never been in a tornado and I felt the same about that word. it's like romanticizing the destruction.
@@lycheemyusic Yeah. It stung quite a bit when I read that, considering the next morning I couldn't help but cry from relief that my family was okay
Tornado in the middle of an open field: deadly beauty.
Tornado in the middle of a debris field: Damn you, tornado.
absolutely
You nailed it.
It kept churning in the same place.
Deadly beauty in the middle of an open field? What’s so deadly about it when it’s in the middle of an open field? Isn’t that the whole juxtaposition you were trying to make, that one signifies harmless beauty and the other symbolizes death and destruction? And yet you contradicted that whole point by calling it deadly in that situation. And then people like Ed Weibe agreed with you and said you were spot on when in reality, you were anything but. Go figure.
@@molder2233 genius in the making.
Thank you for not screaming through it.
Amazing documentation.
Obviously you're making digs at someone. Instead of being pathetic like that it's easy enough to follow this guy and not the other guy. I personally enjoy the shouting and excitement, so do many others. Stop complaining.
LISTEN TO THE ROAAARRR!!!
@@tiswhatitis137thank you!! People have been doing this a ton lately, I absolutely love reeds passion and excitement and personally think I’d be yelling too in that situation; if you don’t like it fair enough but I’m tired of the passive aggressive comments
There is a young chaser called Connor Croft, he is very professional and doesn't scream.....I hate the screaming too.Reed always screams even when he is miles away form a tornado.
@tiswhatitis137 they are probably just referring to all the people who scream at the top their lungs the whole time like it's right on top of them and they are going to die but in reality they are fine and it is annoying.
It looked as if it was about to form again just left of where it roped out. Y’all do a great job, no yelling, no external distractions. Awesome work.
Nebraskans are wild. Like they're just driving like this is an ordinary day. Seeing a tornado that wide would have flipped me out!
what are they supposed to be doing to express their fear, driving around in circles?
i think those were chasers
@@corneliusthecrowtamer1937 usually when people see a tornado they’d drive away from it or try to get to safety 💀 is that not obvious to you
@corneliusthecrowtamer1937 - option 1) find an open business and run inside, option 2) find an overpass and run up as far as possible into the corner, option 3) find a ditch, lie face down with your hands covering your head, option 4) find a field, lie face down with your hands covering your head. The worst places to be are in vehicles, mobile homes, near windows or outside.
I think I would have fainted from fright at the site of that huge monster in the sky! 🌪🌪🌪😱
This thing passed right behind my neighborhood in Bennington. So glad it missed us.
I lost my brother Fathers Day last year to Hurricane force winds in Oklahoma, he was told minutes before by his father to get in the car and come to the shelter, he thought he and his family could just ride it out in their home. That one decision nearly killed his entire family who were laying in bed next to him when a giant tree ripped through their roof crushed him on his bed to the floor, pinned his son under him, who we thought we had lost too initially, fortunately minor scrapes and bruises, His sister was by her mothers feet (also minor injuries) and his pregnant wife was made to call his father, contact the ambulance and rescue the kids from that Nightmare. The Sirens Hadn't sounded yet. Only AFTER he was dead did the warning come. DON'T WAIT, GO TO THE SHELTER EARLY, BACKPACK WITH PROVISIONS.
Sorry for your loss.
Horrible. So sorry to read this. 😢
I’m so sorry for you and your family .
Oh I am so sorry.
Prayers for you and your family 🙏
This wasn't taken from an apartment, it was taken from a business. In the 2nd clip, you can see the tornado hit Garner Industries. Then it crosses the highway, and you can't see it, but there's a video all over the internet of the tornado hitting a train. That train is right behind those trees.
Hell of a video though !
That cellphone footage from the train's conductor was definitely surreal. And for him to be so calm in the moment was very impressive.
I think the video you are referring to of the train was taken during last week's tornado outbreak in Nebraska.
So was this video. This is from last week as well.
@@stonew1927 Yes, from 4/26. That's when these videos were taken. The train is right behind the trees in the 2nd clip of this video. At about 3:40 you can see the train's lights to the left of the tornado. It probably hits it right around 4:00.
Lincoln and Waverly were so lucky that day. No deaths, no mass destruction like in Elkhorn. So incredibly grateful we came out of that day mostly unscathed (except Garner Industries of course).
That is something I never want to see in person.
Why
@@Southside-ji9ihit’s terrifying
These Nebraska tornadoes are some of the clearest but strange last I’ve seen
They don’t travel too far
Geoengineered
I'm in rural colorado mountains. And we are getting high winds 70 mph and snow. And when that cold air reaches the hot air of plains turns into monster tornados
Move back to California, transplant
I used to live in Denver (Aurora). We would occasionally in Spring see these on the far eastern horizon many miles away.
I believe it has already passed us here SW of Oklahoma City. We had heavy winds, heavy ran. The worst is over. Prayers to those in Barnsdall and other counties that got hit hard.
So wild. They almost don't even look real. Praying for those communities.
Yeah they look like CGI
Bizarre and amazing and strangely beautiful, except for the damage they cause.
Only normal retribution 😂
What a photogenic tornado. Nice catch and hope everyone is ok
This tornadoe just keeps churning in the same spot, crawling along. My heart goes out to all of the people displaced and effected by these tornadoes. At least fast-moving tornadoes only last a few seconds, but the second tornado must have been the longest few minutes of anyone near it's lives. Another round is on its way and it is not Hurricane season yet. The cold air from Northern California this weekend with freezing, strong winds, and more cold air today, mixed with the 80°-90° weather across the Sierras in Arizona and the Midwest is going to cause more tornadoes. Be safe everyone! Great video! There is a black object around 3:00 that comes in from the left, in the middle of the screen and flies straight through the tornado and out the other side, in a straight line and when it comes out the other side, it turns and flies into the clouds in back of the tornado. If it were debris, it would have flown upward when it entered the tornado. Maybe someone flew a drone into it for study? I have found several objects flying into, out of, and around tornadoes. Usually, when I point things flying out of volcanos; the videos get removed, even if I "clip" them. I don't take clips from other people's videos anymore. I was clipping and enlarging what I saw and posting it. I guess you aren't supposed to do that but I understand why. Now I just point out things I notice. Great video. Thanks for sharing this with us. 😊
3:55 rare shadow runnin behind the truck and then 4:49 rare shadow again
@@Payton07 That is debris, probably someone's roof
How brave you are! What an amazing and shocking footage. Unbelievable!
That first tornado was perfectly formed. Wow
05:58 Why in the world would anyone drive a truck that top heavy in the direction of a tornado?
This one is staying stuck in one place for long periods. these seem to be the types that cause mega damage
It’s so terrifying seeing linger for a long time over that garner industries (watch the dash cam view video of it ripping the building apart) it seems like it lasts forever and yet I can’t believe it’s only a few minutes, that’s crazy
Just an incredible video. Very well captured until the end. Wow!
I used to think if you could see a tornado it could see you and would start actively looking for you. That line of thought absolutely didn’t help my nightmares. 😆
Toward the end of this video, it seems like the tornado is stationary. It does not change size so it’s neither moving away or towards.
This was going to be my question too. Why did it not move?
I think it was just moving slowly away while also slowing growing in size maybe ?
That's my first time seeing a tornado sitting there and not moving. I thought i was the only one that noticed that
Tornadoes CAN remain stationary and change direction at the drop of a hat. Chasers use radar to detect shifts in the direction a tornado is moving almost instantly. Unfortunately the human eye may not notice until it's too late but chasers have been fooled and lost their lives over it
It does look like it's has become stationary..or very close to it.
Prayers for every one affected
How about a few prayers to never allow these tornadoes occur in the first place?
@@casparuskruger4807 It's going to take a bit more than prayers!
That is horrifying. Why on earth are people--not storm chasers--driving toward it?
I would stop about now. How you would not want debris falling on my car
@@allenkranawetter9482 if I had a camera, I'd stop, and get out of the car.
That's what I was wondering. Just cruising on the highway, like it's just another day...
I couldn’t believe ppls driving toward and past that tornado 😮
Don't comprehend that it can whiplash back around!!
So scary. They say being under a bridge/overpass is the worse place to be. I hope everyone was OK. 🙌
The odd thing is, ppl think they're safe under a bridge!?
At 2.14, there's a strange & loud sound seems to be came out from a very large creature, at 4.48 a small bush like object came out from the underground pipe & runs towards buildings. Its somewhat a creepy video 😮
Whatever that is at 4:48 caught my eye, too. Looks like a bush, but like a shadow, too. But it almost seems like it hops. Been watching it a .25 speed, and it's only gotten more bizarre.
@@dukeofdeath276I assumed it was a tumbleweed, do you think that’s what it is?
@cosygracegames It looked like a tumbleweed patiently waiting in the ditch until the tornado passed by and then continued on its journey. Lol
It's a tumbleweed. It didn't come out of the drainage pipe, it was being blown across the ditch and the camera panned down right at the moment it was passing over the drainage pipe. Whenever the winds pick up, it's pretty common to see tumbleweeds moving like that across the great plains states... Kansas, Nebraska, Eastern Colorado... it's pretty common
I've seen a few of these, I think they sound like an animal growling and snarling, not a train...
Wow. Thanks for not being one of those loud panicky screamers x while filming. 👍👏
I can't recall the last time i was moved so deeply by just watching a storm video. The development and incremental contrast it displayed with each encounter with some part of modern society was remarkable and truly brought me to tears. That typically doesn't occur without some input by the videographer or the sudden tragedy experienced by a storm victim brought into frame. This was different, no commentary, no narration, nothing but the development of this devastating violent wonder of nature! Are there any figures on how deadly this particular twister was yet?
I’m so thankful for smartphones and people’s passion for recording things that most of us will never hopefully experience, such as this. The end of the world will be extremely well documented.
These tornadoes are awesome to watch. However, the best thing in this video is I actually got to hear the roars of the tornadoes. No spoken comments. So I really liked this video. I wish more twister videos had no commentaries or comments as the videos were recorded.
I like it, you've done it. Cam guy not afraid to go up close to it, so cool

Wow. Incredible footage.
OMG! How terrifying.
These are the most Horrifying thing imaginable, I left Earthquakes in California and now have to hide in my basement continually, fearing mass destruction and even loss of life 😢because THE Wrath of Nature is so Violent & Unpredictable, the possibility of losing everything we have worked our whole life for and everyone we love in a matter of seconds is inconceivable 😢💔
2nd tornado video. Building on right side of highway, sign says "Safety starts here"
wow i think i would have retreated in opposite direction, you're brave
It`s just one of these tornado years not to be forgotten
At 4:49 a blurred figure comes out the sewer and hops across the screen and then you can see it run along the blue fence in the background at 5:00 and then disappears could be anything but its definitely interesting and something that the camera unexpectedly caught while catching the tornado footage.
3:55 same blurred figure, left side highway
The sounds of these monsters in itself is crazy 😢
These crazy people driving towards the tornadoes while I'm digging a hole to get away from it.
Wow 😦 These images are really scary, let's hope there were no deaths
Excellent footage!
1:01 this guy deserves the best tornado cameraman footage ever !
ive seen thousands of hours of footage over the decades and he shot this perfect and was LUCKY enough to be at the right vantage point to get the best angles pecos hank would be proud
The second video is among the best tornado videos I've ever seen.
Wow! Did you see how that fence kept that tornado away from that heavy equipment?
It's mind boggling the massive destruction it causes with ease......
The end of the video shows the storm was cyclical and had formed a new area of rotation to the left as the old one died out.
Prayers for all in it's path
I wouldn't need to worry about being hurt or killed from that tornado since just seeing it in person would give me a literal heart attack!
At 4:47 it was amazing to have watched this vantage point with the footage and very interesting watching the flags direction as the tornado passed and very thankful that those two trucks went to check on the people in that building that got swiped they were there immediately
WOW!! It was stationery for so LONG !! Just grinding and destroying... WOW !! amazing footage. WOW !! My worst nightmare.

What a ripper. Incredible footage.
so cool and terrifying at the same time

It’s crazy how long that 2nd one sat spinning in the same spot! Goodness!
Incredible video. It grew from a big dust devil to a full blown tornado in a matter of seconds then it traveled for a few miles and then it just stopped for a minute or two and then it just went up and disappeared.
One of the best tornado videos I've come across. Thank you.
Best video I've seen of a tornado. The sound of it is incredible.
That one behind the tractor farm took some guts to get footage of. It looked like it was coming towards us at first. One of the best shots I've ever seen. Nice job!
Is that tornado just staying in one spot???
That is what I was thinking, It looks like its not moving. Never seen that before
They often say when a Tornado seems like it is in one spot it is directly moving away from you or directly moving towards you so run when you still have the chance.
@@balipimachacha4581Correct. Don't stick around to find out.
No, it’s getting closer
No, I'm from this area and tornadoes zig zag on their way from SW to NE. When it looks like it stops moving that means it has changed directions and is either heading away from you or heading towards you.
That was going across interstate 80 just before Lincoln Nebraska in a little town called Waverly. Pretty scary….
Wow. That second shot it looked as though it was stationary for so long. Thank gawd it wasn't over a community at that point.
The sfx for the new Twister film look fantastic!
Incredible video of a particularly scary tornado.
It is unimaginable forces that are accumulated in these phenomena with corresponding destructions!
This is some of the BEST videoing I've ever seen. And to me it just doesn't look like it's real. But we know it is and the sound on top of the way it looks. I know a lot of people really appreciate your not screaming or cussing. I just appreciate the awareness you bring. Thank you and you stay safe
Wow top 5 video ever. No talking just straight fire. Well done
Oh my goodness! That is terrifying!
insane! glad it was during the day.

great video, i appreciate the steady camera with no screaming
Stunning.
the footage of it barely forming going in and out that big is crazy. really crazy footage. its scary.
Its like living at the bottom of a volcano and wondering why your house gets demolished every few years. Baffles me
The odds of taking a hit from a tornado are extremely rare even in tornado alley.
When you flush the toilet in northern hemisphere is swirling clockwise, when the air goes up it goes counterclockwise. Interesting ying and yang
That one jjust seemed to stop in one place see till it died
Unreal. Best ive seen
And people don't realize how long these things last
This is so scary, I didn't know nature could be so powerful!
Weather modification
Personally, I wouldn't be standing outside just a couple hundred feet from a tornado that's actively ripping up trees
I hadn't seen the manufacturing building clip in Waverly. Thanks
Tornadoes and severe weather pose significant dangers to commuters. Please exercise caution, drive slowly, and stay away from areas with trees that could be toppled by strong winds.
Incredible! Wow!!!!!!
I like how I’m the third video the sign in front of the building says “safety starts here”💀💀
I swear, they're scarier than a bloody damned Cat 2 Hurricane to me!! If you ever see a Tornado pass you, then seems to stand still? YOU ARE THE NEXT TARGET, FIND SHELTER IMMEDIATELY!!
Terrifying, amazing footage.😮 Thank you!
Spectacular footage!
Question.. I don't live where we have tornadoes or hurricanes. Out of the 2, which usually causes the most damage? ( I understand every storm is different but kind of just in general type question)
One of the craziest tornado stories, I have ever heard happened a few decades ago in my city. A guy from our church gets a knock on his door after the tornado is over. The guy at his door was in shock. He had been driving down the road and saw the tornado in his rear view mirror. He knew cars were a very bad place to be, so he pulled over beside a fenced in pasture. He found a drainage pipe and laid down in it. The tornado went right over top of him. He crawled out when it was all over and found his car sitting perfectly ok, except for one small problem. His car was now on the other side of the fence in the pasture. It had a few minor scratches and needed new tires, once they managed to get it out of the field.
It is really sad to me that so many people needlessly put their lives and the lives of others in danger just to get a video. Please stop doing this. In a tornado or any other bad weather, take shelter immediately. A viral TikTok is not worth your life.
Wow, it looks scary 😮😱!
I was just telling someone yesterday about the series of tornadoes including an F4 tornado that hit Omaha in May of 1975 when I was a teenager.
