Hmm... I did something wrong! (My "runners" ended up red, not gold!) If I decide I have the time and patience, I may keep trying. But right now making 40 of these (to hold candy) as a party favor for a sleigh-themed Christmas party seems out of reach. It is beautiful, though. Maybe I could at least master one by this Christmas?
I had the same problem. The reason was in the step of the minute 4.42, just see how you really need to fold the paper there, not just let it bend freely.

FYI: the red/gold foil paper is from Daiso (Japanese dollar store) - it's quite stiff but impressive for some things
