am i the only one that loves the way troops start swinging before the formation collide? it seems more realistic becuz you need to swing at a particular time so that the enemy wont stab you right when your hand is above your head,rather then in rome 2 where units would just run into each other,stare awkwardly and then the fighting animation start,there just no "impact" on infantry charges in late total war games
some of the animations do have a charm to them. Some are more realistic than others. I like the flags waving in the wind, I feel it really adds to the immersion of the battle.

If the Yellow Turbans had such good equipment as the game, they would have overthrown the Han Dynasty long ago! In fact, they are a group of peasants who have lost their land, many without swords and shields, let alone bows and crossbows.
@@AdituLaudisMMXXI The peasants and believers who believed in Taiping Taoism and were oppressed by the landlords and could not survive, lacked a unified command and strategic military talents, and had a large number, but they seldom won battles and seldom captured enemy equipment, so they lacked armor and weapons. Without formal military training, let alone a sufficient number of qualified officers at all levels.
@@AdituLaudisMMXXI Maybe to some extend but they're mostly a mob. This was pretty common, rebels and sometimes government forces would have a core of elite battle hardened units, who gets all the high end loot, but they would drive a mob of hungry peasants who were coerced in many cases but were basically tagging along to survive... Literally nothing too much different from farmers with pitchforks. The mob would be used to waste enemy resources, disrupt production, and as human waves during assaults or human shields in cases of defeat. Their elite would be absorbed into the main force but basically they were expandable and whatever happens so long as the core units survives, they can just raise more mob to repeat the process. Similar tactics were used even as recently as the early part of 20th century.
I agree the yellow turbans were farmers and mostly poor desperate people They were not soldiers nor did they have the armor and weapons/equipment that is shown in this video. Props for formations and how the troops move in unison though
