HONESTLY i think i enjoy your original works across this video better than I do my own music ;-; ;-; they're very nicely made, and I feel they innovate on the concepts I use in my harmony and composition to sound a lot more fresh than what I do !! i really enjoyed hearing your analysis and thoughts, and am honored you'd even make a video like this :) ps im so happy that at 14:49 you said I've made happy music this is the best day of my life
If this video doesn't blow up, it will be like the holy grail of secret knowledge beginners will find to learn knowledge no one else has ever seen before... Bravo, this is very good.
This is when you know youve made it. I was genuinely stunned for a bit because i forget how popular AZALI actually is now. Holy moly great job on the video as well!
Incredibly useful video! Glad to see I'm not the only one wondering how he sounds like he does. Also props for the little explanations on the piece you wrote.
Alongside so many "How to sound like Porter Robinson/Hardwell/Seven Lions/Manse/etcetcetc" we now have "How To Sound Like Azali" What a honour. Thank you for making this, and also to Azali for their work.
Man, this deserves to be so much more popular than it is. Thanks for making such a masterpiece of a video to explain the style of an outstanding artist.
This is an amazing video I've been learning how to compose from recreating my favorite song / making pieces inspired by my favorites and this vid helped a lot ! Also loved the editing as well it has a super cool style !
I BEG OF YOU please make a series like this on composition and theory for FL learners. You're so incredibly good at explaining these things, and I can literally feel motivation surging back into me watching this. And if making a series isn't feasible, could I ask for references you found eye-opening?
How I would make an AZALI-style song: Make a bunch of random notes in quick succession Use random notes to make an even faster melody Make chords to go with the melody Add a lick Go crazy with the drums so much so that they don't even sound like drums Add a lick Add extra instruments to make the song sound less empty Add a lick Sound effects Metal pipe *Add a lick*
OMG bro, you helped me A LOT! I'm starting a yt channel about music and i've been listening to AZALI for very long. That video came in handy on the moment i needed it the most. TYYYYYY!
I've been listening to Azali's songs for a while, learned a lot from how he makes his music and tbh I wouldn't have continued to make music at all if it wasn't for Azali. This video is a really nice breakdown of his style and I'll definitely use these tips in the future. Keep up the great work!
Very good video! Love the parts about arpeggio and juxtaposition! I'd like to add that harmony (as in the relationship between chords) also plays a big role in how a piece sounds. I'd love to transcribe something by AZALI in the future (if I do so I'll add to the replies), but it's worth learning about functional harmony and harmonic devices used in most classical pieces. I have a lot more knowledge in Jazz theory, but some things you could try out are writing in minor (or even harmonic minor), chromatic mediants (maybe), augmented and diminished chords, suspended chords, authentic cadences, and modal interchange overall.
This is top notch video production and analysis. I wouldn’t in a million years notice these things, not alone *teach* it. Really well made and easy to understand, thank you ❤
This is exactly the video I've been looking for, a lot of these concepts I've understood innately when sat at a piano but have always wondered how to implement them into FL studio, thank you so much for this video! I feel confident to work more on my compositions!
As someone with a (sometimes too active) imagination, I can absolutely agree that everytime I listen to an Azali album I imagine an entire video game/show involuntarily and I love it
this is actually really cool, ive been working on an in depth azali tutorial of my own (which mostly focuses on his style of dnb) and now im even more motivated to work on it!!!
i've been wanting something like this for a while, i'm a little scared to teach myself anything because there's always that bit of doubt that holds me back, when i see someone else break it down i feel its easier to digest and azali's style is something i've really wanted to understand for a while and this seriously helps
This video is extremely well made! Went to check on your other videos only to find out that you are the one who made run-away-girl, which is the song that I listen to time to time and got to know of it from osu!... big fan...
this is legit the best music video on how to make music i have ever seen on youtube (and it's not just because it's Azali themed xD) (even tho that's a plus i would say) thank you so much
Really good tutorial! Alone together is my most favorite song of his, and it was fascinating when you applied the similar tempo automation to your piece.
I’ve saved this to my playlist where I keep video that I want to come back to for information about stuff because I have plans to make a game in the future and which includes learning how to compose my own music for it. AZALI’s style or music was something that I felt like could work well with what I want to make (although I know almost nothing about music so I can’t really be sure). Regardless, this video will be a great help to in the future for when I begin trying to make my own music for this game (once I have at least a decent understand of music composition).Thank you
Very epic video, I SWEAR its pronounced "uh-zal-ee" but could just be me (i have my ways) He is a very cool guy, and you seem to be too! Keep it up man
I always thought this boy just presses the keys on the piano roll randomly up and down 🤓 But aside jokes, it's an insanely informative video, thank you very much :3
ok this is my third comment but this really helped me with chords when i studied his music, i knew that something had to click so i learned something and yeah, i totally agree with your statement on curiosity and exploration
Dang we all been inspired by AZALI fr, This guy is literally the king of instrumental music. Main thing I'm happy about is that this guy actually understands AZALI's style of music, unlike quite a few others I've seen😭 Not just that he has shared his knowledge. Thanks man honestly, this gonna make my music sound top notch fr. (Also, No I'm not a roblox kid I promise, it was just some old thing of mine, thats wny its my pfp and cba to change it.)
This is incredible! You should do something similar to this for Kyle landry (a composer on youtube with some of the most beautiful improvisations you can find!).
i was gonna do a whole analysis on the minor7th arpeggiated chord, specifically the c - g - d - d#, as ive seen azali use that same arpeggiation of the chord so many times (also alone together is top 3 azali songs)
HONESTLY i think i enjoy your original works across this video better than I do my own music ;-; ;-;
they're very nicely made, and I feel they innovate on the concepts I use in my harmony and composition to sound a lot more fresh than what I do !!

ps im so happy that at 14:49 you said I've made happy music this is the best day of my life
Unrelated but
Is your name pronounced Az-uh-lee or Uh-zah-lee
@@vietanh266lmao how about Ah-Zah-Li
Your compositions are so nuanced that happy goes through nostalgia that it becomes sad.
@@vietanh266lmao i always read it in my head as "ah-zay-lee"
@enderbloke1298Same, but I also sometimes do uh-zah-lee
If this video doesn't blow up, it will be like the holy grail of secret knowledge beginners will find to learn knowledge no one else has ever seen before... Bravo, this is very good.
It's the because of the Triangle
Can't say I agree more
Fr, it's been months since I tried to compose as good as azali and this video teaches me more than those months
This is when you know youve made it. I was genuinely stunned for a bit because i forget how popular AZALI actually is now. Holy moly great job on the video as well!
its so easy to forget they have like 200k subs cuz of how chill their vids feel
I've needed this so long; I could never figure out how AZALI's music was so simple-sounding at times, and yet still so undeniably AZALI-sounding!
my guy officially has his own analysis video .. he's made it ..
mechanical god is my favourite song of all time, im so glad you used it as an example
AZALI tutorial woohoo!
hey Pasta, wanna do a collab with me just to make an AZALI type song
@ Sure!
I'm looking forward to this
Incredibly useful video! Glad to see I'm not the only one wondering how he sounds like he does. Also props for the little explanations on the piece you wrote.
Alongside so many "How to sound like Porter Robinson/Hardwell/Seven Lions/Manse/etcetcetc" we now have "How To Sound Like Azali"
What a honour. Thank you for making this, and also to Azali for their work.
How to sound like GavinZBeat🥶🥶
when i heard ur voicing example i was like "wtf this guy guessed geoxor faerie melody". great breakdown and analysis !!!
Man, this deserves to be so much more popular than it is. Thanks for making such a masterpiece of a video to explain the style of an outstanding artist.
one of those videos you find on the RUclips homepage with only 98 views but you don't even realize until later
cool stuff
This is an amazing video I've been learning how to compose from recreating my favorite song / making pieces inspired by my favorites and this vid helped a lot ! Also loved the editing as well it has a super cool style !

YES THIS NEEDS TO HAPPEN
2:24 me when it's quiet and falling
CELESTE REFERENCE IN THE WILD?
CELESTE MENTIONED AUUUGH
i remember watching a lot of azali's videos and i still do and its still kinda mindblowing how much hes grown over the past year or two
How I would make an AZALI-style song:
Make a bunch of random notes in quick succession
Use random notes to make an even faster melody
Make chords to go with the melody
Add a lick
Go crazy with the drums so much so that they don't even sound like drums
Add a lick
Add extra instruments to make the song sound less empty
Add a lick
Sound effects
Metal pipe
*Add a lick*
9:06 That felt so smooth with the arpeggios
tppo but in music??? HELL YEAH
this video inspires me so much
OMG bro, you helped me A LOT! I'm starting a yt channel about music and i've been listening to AZALI for very long. That video came in handy on the moment i needed it the most. TYYYYYY!
i think we all waited for a video like this, real good video!

ur voice is exactly what i expected to hear from an azali fan
awesome video!
Very good video! Love the parts about arpeggio and juxtaposition!

:0 this was really informative! it taught me a lot about music theory n stuff. than you for doing this!
i kinda noticed all of this already but its nice to see it laid out like that
As someone with a (sometimes too active) imagination, I can absolutely agree that everytime I listen to an Azali album I imagine an entire video game/show involuntarily and I love it
this is actually really cool, ive been working on an in depth azali tutorial of my own (which mostly focuses on his style of dnb) and now im even more motivated to work on it!!!
So happy AZALI got his own tutorial, definitely one of my favorite artists
Great video btw, hope youtube does this justice
a very simplistic analysis that doesnt take away from the greatness of Azali, this was very easy to digest and fruiful, thank you so much!
Not me about to take this tutorial and save it for my own compositions :O
Tysm for making this video! I always like seeing analyses of epic music >:3
i've been wanting something like this for a while, i'm a little scared to teach myself anything because there's always that bit of doubt that holds me back, when i see someone else break it down i feel its easier to digest and azali's style is something i've really wanted to understand for a while and this seriously helps
This popped up right when I needed it.
I think this is what i need to get back into music... Listening to how expressive you can be with just the piano makes me want to explore more myself
great, now i just need to learn how to make beautiful masterpiece melodies out of nowhere
This video is extremely well made!
Went to check on your other videos only to find out that you are the one who made run-away-girl, which is the song that I listen to time to time and got to know of it from osu!... big fan...
PLEASE MAKE A SERIES LIKE THIS I BEG YOU. I NEED MORE GUIDANCE. SELF LEARNING IS DAMN HARD
I love how Azali implements those tempo changes, and it inspires me to not stay stuck in just one speed (metal is guilty of that until recently).
Amazing vid You def deserves more subs
WHOA AZALI TUTORIAL OH MY GODDDDD SO USEFUL 🔥🔥🔥
can you make a video on how to make melodies? your melody in 7:58 is simple yet so good and Im not sure where to start when creating melodies.
This is really helpful for beginners especially for the chords which some wanna be composers like me struggles sometimes :)
You really have made it as musician when you see one of these great analysis videos about your music
this is legit the best music video on how to make music i have ever seen on youtube
(and it's not just because it's Azali themed xD) (even tho that's a plus i would say)
thank you so much
this was just what i needed??

Woah! Thought i was watching a vid with 100k views! This is so well done 👏
Amazing, very detailed, thank you very much
Very epic video, I SWEAR its pronounced "uh-zal-ee" but could just be me (i have my ways)
He is a very cool guy, and you seem to be too! Keep it up man

THIS IS SO COOL????
this is helpful, good job!!
YOU OPENED THE VIDEO WITH MY FAVORITE AZALI SONG WHAAAATTTTTT
Thank for the tutorial! Now I can make happy melodic AZALI music type beat!
I ABSOLUTELY LOVE THIS VIDEO!!! (6:34 rellakinoko mentioned)
I always associate Rellas art with Azalis music
OMG this video is so well made.
needed this, i need to make some music again
very cool video, I hope to see more like this from you!
I always thought this boy just presses the keys on the piano roll randomly up and down 🤓
But aside jokes, it's an insanely informative video, thank you very much :3
12:05 what you say here really reminds me of how Ichika Nito describes how he makes his music. Very fascinating.
his playing is very influenced by his piano background so that might be why aswell
Love this so much
ok this is my third comment but this really helped me with chords
when i studied his music, i knew that something had to click so i learned something
and yeah, i totally agree with your statement on curiosity and exploration
Honestly i never got the thing of using extended chords but the way you presented it just made a very complicated concept feel so obvious
I LOVE AZALI THANK YOU
very very good video thank u so much!
oh yes please!! thank you!!1111
Thank you for this, I REALLY needed it because I kind of suck at making music right now lol
I thought the views would be on the millions, damn this video is really high quality!
Dang we all been inspired by AZALI fr, This guy is literally the king of instrumental music.

Indeed. But can i use this for musescore lol as well?
bro nice video 💯💯
Amaze
SYLRRICAAAAA
This is incredible! You should do something similar to this for Kyle landry (a composer on youtube with some of the most beautiful improvisations you can find!).
GOLD. HOLY SHIT
11:52 Asphyxia mentioned
this whole time i thought it was uh-za-lee
Please we need more breakdowns
i was gonna do a whole analysis on the minor7th arpeggiated chord, specifically the c - g - d - d#, as ive seen azali use that same arpeggiation of the chord so many times (also alone together is top 3 azali songs)
The first music of azali I discovered is mechanical god and it's beautiful😭
please do a dystopian tanuki tutorial bro
Hi, i was just wondering could you make a video on how to pick chords like azali, and also cover how azali uses them in chord systems?
