Maybe a good idea, cut a 8-10" piece of aluminum edge trim to put on the bottom of your half moon step to avoid the edge of the plywood from splintering. Great build out!

I like the idea of not having to go outside to get to your living area -- which is better than the Alu-Cab. I was a fan of Alu-Cabs, but having to get wet and lift the tent, if it's raining, is troublesome. This is so much easier. You answered the question whether you were keeping the Alu-Cab. Which begs the question, Why?
