    Legend!
    Husky puppy and I .finally found the shop last week. We bought some authentic Rob Machado wax...
    Us broke ass Surfers have to figure out ways to make the same 2 boards perform differently. Quad or thruster options on my old spitfire. And on my crazy fat boy Blair 6-4. I had special tiny quad fins made and rotating those fins from the back to the front. Changes the board completely...5 years since last used board purchase.20+ since a new one.
    Don't get me wrong playing with Rob machado's quiver.
    Would be like a freaking dream . At 180 pounds .
    I probably about the size it up a bit .
    but how fun would that be?? to have your pick of 10 boards ?
    and if you don't like your boards anymore . you can just shape more boards .
    it's good to be Rob Machado!!
    PS .it is definitely true .
    if you stay with the wrong board too long . (Again a matter of budget usually).
    it will retard your progression.

    What about vortex generators on boards to reduce drag? Like fish scales but better

    So here's a question for anyone in the know. I'm 5'9" between 190-200, athletic. I'll be surfing sloppy east coast Florida waves, second light, RC's, Spanish house, sebastian inlet area. What size Seaside should I be looking at? Thanks in advance

    • @Garebare24
      @Garebare24 3 года назад

      I am 205 athletic. Ponce inlet. I overshot and I am glad I did. Got the 41 liter and it is fast and still tight in the pocket. Always better to be overboarded than underboarded.

    Whats the difference to the go Fish? Looks awesome

    • @choucchoucas3756
      @choucchoucas3756 4 года назад

      not faster but turn quicker and allows tight in the pocket manoeuvers than the Go Fish, you can hit the lip like a modern tri fin..If you need one board take it but the Go Fish is cooler and the two are complementary boards.I kept the two by my side.

    I’m 5’7 138 pounds. Can’t decide what size seaside I should get, but I’m ready to pull the trigger on buying it. What do you think? I’m thinkin a 5’3?

    • @benjaminm5232
      @benjaminm5232 4 года назад

      It depends on what you want it for. If you want it to replace or to use as an alternative to your everyday board, then get it around the same volume. If you want it for when the waves are a little weaker, go up a size. Just a reminder, they pack a lot of foam into a small shape, so don't go too big. I use an Almond butter as my everyday board @ 32.4L. I had a hard time choosing between the 5'6 and 5'7. I opted for the 5'7 to take advance weaker days , or for when I had no choice but to surf at high tide, and also so there wouldn't be too much over lap with other boards in my quiver and I'm glad I did. This board rips.

      benjamin m thanks for your reply. I’d like to have the seaside for slightly smaller, weaker days that will still allow me to grab good waves easily. I want to be able to rip it pretty well though... The only time I want to hop on my shortboard instead of the seaside would be on relatively steep, big days. You’re glad you bought the 5’7, May I ask how tall you are and how much you weigh? I think the 5’3 would be good for me, but it just seems so damn small. My shortboard is 6’2, so a 5’3 board doesn’t make logical sense to me even though that seems to be what I want/need. Thanks for any reply, I’m planning on buying very soon!

    • @benjaminm5232

      I'm 5'10 and 175lbs. The thinned out tail is what allows such a wide board to still be able to really rip. Where do you surf? I'm in NY and generally surf punchy beach breaks, but short period swells, and the winds are typically onshore. But even in those conditions the seaside is a blast to ride. I only take my shortboard out when it's clean and shoulder high plus. Since you want it for weaker days get it a size bigger. The larger board will have more rail line too.

      benjamin m thanks for your advice man, I’ve been waiting forever for someone to engage with this comment so I can ask some questions before buying! I’m in Southern California. Usually surf everything from Huntington Beach to San Diego (if you happen to know your so cal coastline;)). The waves here are fuckin sweet when they’re pumping, but often times I find myself on my shortboard in surf that is just moving too fast or is breaking unevenly (because of onshore winds). It’s a feeing that is second to none to drop in on a clean face on a nice day, but those are few and far between. Furthermore, I live in the desert about an hour and a half from the beach, so beach trips are usually a 2 day thing where I sleep in my truck. Having the seaside would be a nice way of assuring I catch some waves as long as they’re decent. I think you’re right about going a bit bigger too. Maybe a 5’4 or 5’5 would hit the spot. I’m just getting to the level of being able to ride a fair amount of waves in a sesh so it’s time to get a seaside and get down to business!

      @@DirtBikes_MathGarden Yeah of course.... I've pick up a few boards that I love after getting helpful tips from others, so I'm glad I could help. Being in Manhattan now, I also have a solid 1.5hr trek to the beach (unless I'm already on the island seeing fam) so I feel your pain. The seaside and others like it are so clutch for getting the most out of each session.
