Panned for gold in California once. Well; I bought a bag of dirt to swish around in a pan out the back of Ol' Nip bar on Highway 49 out of Yosemite. There was supposed to be gold dust, but there was a little nugget too! The owner was surprised. He kept saying "there's gooold in them thaaarr hills". His barstools had saddles on them : ) Them were t' days. Nice song.
Aha ! now I know how you can sit around all day, travel the world and drink late into the night :) it`s gold Ivor gold !! Mr Dinwoodie had a gold mine and you found it !! Never tried but would like to some day , I have done my share of metal detecting a while back , found a small gold ring , quite an early piece too ...maybe... ;)
