I saw the Plant/Krauss show last month. I was most excited to see Stuart Duncan and he did not disappoint. He is just an incredible musician.

I miss the Nashville Bluegrass Band. They played lots of great lesser known tunes. I keep reminding myself that Stuart and Mark were musically child wonders. Then I don't feel as bad about my slow improvement.

Awesome. Never seen anyone other than myself play a Kalamazoo mandolin!

That’s cool! I have a 1914 Gibson A. I like the darker sound they project.

The fiddle (like almost all plugged in fiddles) sounds like crap on the low strings. I am sure Duncan has access to most of the technology available, but cannot help but wonder if he has tried any of the instrument mounted miniature microphones. The doofus interviewing him enthuses "Wow that sounds so transparent!"...yeah, as transparent as a 1/2" steel plate.

Who coined the word "Americana ?" Can they play a musical instrument ? What is wrong with Blue Grass, or Old Time ?
