Dood, that drone footage was amazing!!!
That is one of the most beautiful drone shots I´ve seen in this channel. Breathtaking, thanks for sharing Nick!
And now you understand why those of us in the Midwest laugh when you say you're cold. I've played in a park, in tall boots and a foot of snow. I had to, it was a Lapras. That was last winter.
Welcome to Wisconsin. The Winters are brutal here, but the rest of the year is pretty awesome!
You got me back into Pokemon GO Love you for it dude and keep the videos coming!!!
Same my girlfriend and i got back into it this week cause i found his channel. I even ordered a new longboard because my last one was stolen to get around faster. Thanks TT
Just a FYI Nick New York won't be much warmer you sure you want to move there
If she doesn’t know what blockbuster is, she’s too young for you bro!!
Emmanuel Alarcon if she has a basket on her bike she's too young for you bro 😂 reminds me of Poly haha
6:32 That's so good that you've put the "-12 C" up there, those little things really help a lot and always make your videos better.
Now Nick knows the true pain of those of us living in cold states trying to pokemon during all these events! I'll be out sun-tue grinding in the cold... how many hours were yall out for?
10:42 RIP headphone users
Rip
Nick, this is hands down the BEST video series you have done so far. The excursion to the lighthouse was brilliant- you were able to get some extraordinary shots with your drone, but it also seemed like we were watching a REAL LIFE POKEMON ADVENTURE! I feel like this is the closest you have gotten to what YOU wanted the channel to be about, and in doing so, you have created the most fun and compelling pieces for the fans as well. My second favorite thing about this series is the fact that it takes place here, in the States.
While I thoroughly enjoyed your trips abroad playing PoGo, I think it's pretty important that you are exploring the vastness of North America and potentially getting in touch with parts of your/our own country that we may never see otherwise. The Grand Canyon shots were absolutely beautiful, and I would love to see your cinematic perspective on several other national parks/monuments- with some Pokemon action along the way, of course!
Anyway, thanks for sharing this, and thanks for all you do. Also, super glad that Alex didn't fall to an icy death XD
Keep up the good work!
-DK
Beautiful footage over the lighthouse, wonderful editing and music. Well done Nick...you've outdone yourself.
As a fellow Wisconsinite, this has been my FAV blog of yours Nick! Im so so SO glad you came out here during the winter time! Not to many people give us credit for POGO, but State wide we have an amazing community even during the winter time! Hope you enjoyed your stay and congrats on the Solrock!
As a fellow Wisconsinite this is so cool to see footage of my home state just a couple hours north of myself. I’ve always wished I could hang out withTrainer Tips or Mystic 7 and show the Madison and Milwaukee. Where I was born and where I live respectively so I guess this is as close as it gets. Nick got the cold snowy part of Wisconsin but I wish he could come in the spring when the Wild flowers are blooming or fall when the fall colors are at its peek sighs. Plus I’m sure nick would love summer Fest music festival. Of course after the pandemic now it’s not as fun and not the same the latter didn’t happen this year.
Love your videos, Nick. Always great shots and audio. Welcome to Wisconsin! Never thought you’d be in my neck of the woods. Keep up the great work.
Seeing those drums brought back so many memories. DK games were awesome.
Thanks for including the degrees in Celsius :) Great that you finally get to play in the conditions that are so normal for a lot of us.
The drone footage is so great and beautiful.
-12°C and the game dies there. Here in winnipeg, we still go out and raid every day even in like -30°C with -40° windchill
Had to pause the video after I saw the drone shots and you both walking along the icy path. Wow... I think they are my favourite drone shots that you shot since getting the drone. I watch all your videos too!
Dear Sir, that walking montage to the lighthouse was nothing short of legendary. I got chills, it felt as though some epic pokemon/gym boss lay in wait at the end. Well done. :D
You should come to Stevens Point Wisconsin! We have a massive community here, despite the relatively small size of the town. Even our mayor plays! He said he's going to try to contact Niantic for special events and spawns.
awesome view from drone! Thanks for video!
Glad you got to experience Manitowoc. It may have been 10 degrees but it feels like -10. Wish I could've seen you out and about but glad you enjoyed what we experience here!! Keep up the good work man!
Beautiful aerial intro Nick! I'm excited for Salamance, one of my favorites!
There was a lot of static on the mic in the beginning of the video. You got to look into that mic of yours. Awesome vlog out in the ice . Really appreciate the effort you put for getting us this amazing content, what Pokemon GO is all about! Thanks Nick.
Calling it now, Metagross will be T4 Raid. #Gen3Hype
Silverskyhigh Maybe.... but I dont think so
Well you're wrong, how much do I get!?
I really hope not. Nothing cheapens a rare strong pokemon like making it a raid boss.
RUclipshasaids right
Well we'll have to wait and see what the new T4 raid Pokemon will be, other suggestions I can come up with are Altaria or Tropius but we will know soon enough. :D
another great video Nick!
your drone captions are simply AMAZING
I am so glad you went on this adventure.I got to see stuff which I'll probably never see in my life. Magnificent scenes, beautiful editing I am really lost for words.Thank you, Nick.
You’re not wrong about batteries dying faster in the cold. Other day I went from 100-3% in the time it took to get out of my car, walk down a hill, post up in a gym, walk back up and get into my car. It’s maybe 100’ from the road. Saskatchewan weather. Literally deadly.
DeadMech1 correct. Mankato, Minnesota here and my LG Fortune can barely handle it. I've heard it's harder on lithium ion batteries.
Mine shuts down completely - I've perfected taking down gyms and placing defenders *fast* - but then restarts a few minutes later, showing ±40% remaining. I've heard it's bad to do that without letting the battery warm up at least a little bit before restart.
the lighthouse walk shots were absolutely gorgeous. Thanks for this content Nick, definitely the best PoGo channel by far. Btw, Alex's Nintendo collection was mad!! thousands of dollars in merchandise
Power bank in the inside pocket of jacket, cable through one sleeve, jacked to the phone almost all the time. That's the way you have to do it to play in below freezing temperatures, let alone below -20°C :D And a stylus, if you don't have proper circulation in your fingers...
Those drone shots were amazing. Great job!
Yay! Doing it up proper in my State with the cheese curds! Loved the piece with the lighthouse. Gorgeous. You can live in this weather with the proper gear. 💙
Nick, that's very brave of you to go out into the ice and cold weather, being so used to Ca. temps. welcome to the midwest. that icy lighthouse shot looks awesome. also, today, walking around in the snow - we got slammed - I caught an icy castform!
These are the videos I really enjoy watching. I love seeing you explore and play PGo in other countries but there was something super enjoyable about seeing you journey across the states and often just ending up in some rural, middle-of-no-where place. I'd love to see you do the same but up in the New England area and maybe down along the east coast.
It's 8:30am in Vietnam ... still the usual Rats and birds!
SO many gorgeous shots!! Nick, you're such an incredible creator.
I’m northern wisconsin and bike to all the raids in my area. Even with the cold temps and snow, pokemon go is still going where I live.
my gosh, you guys are crazy for walking through that treacherous ice!!!
Thank you for saying that only gen3 will be around that was my understanding of the tweet as well! No one would believe me on that paragraph!
I love it " I can't drink the hot chocolate... It's got milk...." * Proceeds to eat cheese curds *
Thanks for properly explaining everything as always! Final wave hype!! I am so excited for Rayquaza.
These travel vids with extra Pokemon footage makes the video really cool. Enjoying your friend's camera time as well, likable dude.
PS. Really cool lighthouse footage!
It was one of my favourite videos post your Hawaii trip in terms of shooting style! Plus the music was very fitting too! Nick you should collaborate with Owl City too!
11:41
DC at the FDR memorial. It has been a fossil spot since day 1 and is still going strong from what I here. You can also catch a lot of lapras (1-2 per day) wherever the fossils spawn heavy. Ahhh. The lapras hunt. I miss that.
That Lilleep Spawns. wow. loving these travel vlogs. Keep it up.
The fossil types out by the water makes sense since they are based off of aquatic species.
Anorith is based on Anomalocaris, and Lileep is based on Ancient Sea Lilies / Crinoid.
Damn nick! These aerial shots for the entire road trip have been beautiful
Those drone shots were amazing!! Wow!
Really enjoyed this video. No wonder why everyone in Philly always talks about you! I'm hooked on these videos!!
Metagross and Salamence are gonna be so destructive xD
Carl Andrews remember dark type moves aren't super effective because he's steel
But, yes Houndoom would be a perfect counter with fire type attacks unless they put Earthquake on Metagross which is likely bro
And im mostly talking about CP wise, not like fighting against wise
Carl Andrews cause fighting salamence is the same as fighting a Dragonite and as you said a good counter for Metagross is Houndoom
Carl Andrews just checked it out on the silphroad bro, he's gonna have earthquake so Houndoom is a good counter but not a great one if he has earthquake
Lol yeahhhhhhhhhhhh
Wow the drone shots were fantastic which you shot at light house 😍😍😍. Make more exciting video's like this love you nick...😘
That epic walk scene to the lighthouse was awesome.
Sweet drone footage!
If anybody cares, catches like this are what's normal for semi-rural/suburban WI ever since the weather update.
Music LOUD talking looow. So its a lot of volume turning and hoping the kids wont wake up. Must it be so loud? You are great btw 👏
same here!
Same problem here, annoying. :l Can't really watch these videos in the mornings.
Welcome to Wisconsin Buddy
Stunning shots... I feel like every video you upload outdoes the last. Looks a bit chilly though to an Aussie like myself. Nick freezes so that we don't have to.
That whole drone shot around the lighthouse was mesmerizing 😮
Great vid. Amazing drone footage. 👍
This was a pristine place to film. It encompasses an environment of solitude, yet it shows how grand this is. Perfect setting. I strive to see sights like this because of this game.
Wisconsin! My home state! Hope you enjoyed it there, even with it being so cold.
That drone footage was SWEEEEET!
Crackin me up watching you in Wisconsin---you look so miserable in the cold! LOL This is what we in northern/eastern US deal with every winter! Cold...ice...but it's awesome!
now you know the pain of living in cold places and trying to play POGO
I want to thank you because I use your tips all the time. I am the level that I am because of your tips, so thank you! love your videos! Keep up the great work! :)
Thank you for your wonderful videos. Wow that drone video!!! A bit late in mentioning sorry. But to save your hands in the cold, sew a few pieces metallic thread on the index finger and thumb of your gloves.
It was worth it.
The drone videos were beautiful done.
Love the drone shots in this video
That icy pathway. Terrifying. Thanks for the videos - keeps PoGo interesting but more than that your style is so relaxing to watch. Love the travel element, which includes Long Beach for me because I'm a Londoner.
Welcome to the North, Nick! I'm glad you got to visit my neck of the woods.
Hahaha that drone fall. Glad you made it.
I get a kick out of Nick’s reactions to our usual biomes up here (fossils and such along the Mississippi areas). Meanwhile, we get lucky to see a sandshrew or doduo once every month or two, lol!
I love this one. Think he'll say it's cold when it's 50 degrees anymore? It's -21 where I'm at right now. 10 degrees isn't even that cold. LOL
Wow, amazing visuals with the drone! Nice vid :)
Lol brain fart was just like "lol 10° is nothing... Wait, how is there snow if it's above freezing" 😂😂😂😂 way too used to Celsius (the one that makes sense cus like, -12° sounds colder than 10° and below 0=chance of ice in Celsius 😂)
Jay Blayk #murica
It's only -12 It's not like it's -29 or something.
Beefalo indeed, they too are possible temperatures 😂😂
I would give anything for that temperature right now it was still 86. 7°F at 4 o’clock this morning and it is currently 100.7°F
I thought that was C too until I saw the snow xD So 10F is -12C?! Cause that's pretty freaking cold I can imagine them almost losing their fingers lol.
Omg these lighthouse shots are friggin incredible!
-12 C, pretty normal day in Quebec City :P This year, December and January were really freezing even by our standards, like regular -20 to -30 C... hard to go out and play in those conditions!
Great drone shots!!
Awsome trip man! I enjoyed watching it a lot! Greetings from cold, cold Poland :D
So nice to see you in a snowy setting for a change. Thanks for the vids!
I live in Milwaukee only about an hour from there. Looks like that's where I'm going on the next Pokemon hunting trip !!!
Those fossil cluster spawns are ridiculous! :O
Haven't even as much as seen a single gen 3 fossil here yet, super jealous :3
Nick, I know why you saw so many Lileep! It was reported recently (two days ago?) on the Silph Road that somebody noticed that Lileep spawn in clusters in certain locations, namely those that involve piers or lighthouses. I can't quite remember what the exact specifications are, but you should totally search for that research on the Silph Road. We found a spot in here in Ottawa called Dick Bell Park where Lileep cluster spawns. We thought it was a nest, but it stuck around after the nest migration, so with the research posted on the Silph Road it's clear that something is up with Lileep.
Was in Madison WI in early Dec. gets real cold there. Can get down as low as -26
Melted cheese is how people cope with cold weather 😊
Wisconsin State Motto: *Smell Our Dairy Air* True Story. 😂
damn that lighthouse clips were amazing
best video ever specially with that drone footage
Dope polar expedition drone shots!
Thank you Nick for showing me places I would never get to see. I truly enjoy your vlog videos they are so interesting and the way you put your video content together is amazing.. I would not know much about pokemon with out your help as I only been playing Pokemon when this game came out, so your videos are a win win for me, and I thank you and that's why I am happy to be a patron.
i got my first EX pass for today at 1pm so pumped!!! thanks for the vids. helped me prepare a lot.
Damn your vids are so good. Breathtaking visuals and real adventure with good hearted people. Thank you for all the inspiration Nick, you are one of the bright spots in this generation and give me hope for the future.
That’s me everyday here in NYC. So cold!
Bravo! Well done. You're one of us, now, who've appreciated the extraordinary beauty of this game out in the extreme cold. Moreover, you have captured it - and beautifully, as always.
Greetings from downtown Mankato, Minnesota, where my personal record was running out to snag a Growlithe in a -45°(F) wind chill. That kind of weather can literally kill you - stay dry! Stay warm! Frostbite sets in, causing permanent nerve damage, in *minutes*. Keep *everything* you can covered and dry, including ears and nose, fingers and toes. (I hope I'm not being presumptious; I just didn't know any of this myself until I was told after moving here from Texas.) Awesome Pokémon are awesome but it is *not* worth crippling your body.
Thank you for inspiring me yet again. You're doing extraordinary work, extremely well. All the best! Be well, John
Rayquaza is my favorite pokemon but if it's another raid boss I won't get a chance to catch it unless I spoof to a big city
Been through manitowoc a bunch driving up to school in the UP
I'm in MN and everytime the weather is partly cloudy the Anortih and lileep spawn like mad.
Where in MN do you live I have yet to see a lileep in the wild, and Anorith are super rare.
Mankato, here, and I've only ever seen either of those in gyms, despite having ample such weather.
Mankato here as well.
I think I’ve realized why - Bug and Grass are far more common than Ground types in the northern US. Partly cloudy boosts Rock types, so you’ll see a big increase in the Bug/Rock Anorith and Grass/Rock Lileep, rather than the Ground/Rock types like Geodude and Onix.
Great vid, Alex’s home town is amazing in winter
These vlogs are god tier. Does Nick use a drone?
2:05 stage 2 pseudo-legenderies with bst (base stat total (total points put onto each pokemon's stats)) of 600
