Ya know... ya could back this with a layer or two of gauze or muslin, and use it as a bodice centerpiece and possibly even the front two shoulder pieces (depending on the size of the person, you could also just experiment with sizes of yarn and of hooks to adjust for size of the future by taking some measurements of the first square and of the person) and then three straight across the back for the back shoulders... and just create a dress around that as your starting ideas. A very simple shift of gauze for muslin can be made to line the entire dress, if not wanting to just line the bodice centerpiece. I'm not one for letting my bra straps show through gaps as big as these so I would probably make a lining and sew it into my garment. Using smallish hooks and smallish thread or yarn, it is easy to complete the dress with double or treble crochet is all the way, using back loop only, or or front and back post crochets to give some dimensional qualities to an otherwise flat texture would be nice. The texture could be used to add size to the upper part of the body/dress, and add to the lower part to give the illusion of a more hourglass figure if those areas are perceived figure flaws. If you tukhas is not very flattering, ya might want to texture there to beautify the dress. This is a strategy I will employ. If I were sick thin like a flapper and wanted that look for my dress, I would not add any textured stitches. Alpine Stitch might be an interesting texture to put in the upper and lower parts but not in the waist area. I've got to go ride my ideas down and try to sketch them! I'm all about "the monkey see, the monkey do"! Laters!
*walter white yelling in the car meme* CORRINA!!! CORRINA THE BASE OF THE TRIANGLE IS A DOUBLE TREBLE NOT A DOUBLE!!! CORRINAAAA!!! Memes aside, we’re yelling with love! We want you to be successful in getting the pattern down pat, and of course we’re not perfect at following patterns either! We love your perseverance and discovering the pattern come together ❤️ I also love this yarn color, gorgeous choice
Long comment - I want to thank you for your tutorials. When I was a child, we had a neighbor who had been born around 1870. She would sit and crochet incredible lace and edging with her gnarled fingers - beautiful patterns that she knew by heart. She tried to teach me how but I was too young and very rambunctious. Now that I am old, I am enjoying crocheting and I LOVE your videos because you share every aspect of the projects, including mistakes and frustrations. You are a born teacher. Thank you and keep up the fiber fun.
Yes, true. I once created a white baby layette for newborns, with a special bonnet. One of the features of the bonnet included a flower granny square in the back, with raised petals and center texture as features. It was loads of fun to crochet. I think your idea would be very eye catching and make the jacket just pop!
I enjoy your videos. It reminds me of trying to teach myself from patterns almost 60 years ago. Funny part is that I am crocheting something else as I watch and occasionally find myself incorporating your stitches into my project. Frog “rippit”. Lol
Who yells at you, Corinna? If they don't like the way you do the patterns, they should make their own the way they like. No-one should yell at you about authenticity, or whatever. If they don't like it, they should go elsewhere. You do great work! Granted, I... ahem... 'talk loudly' at the screen. But that's because I'm commenting on the pattern and trying to 'help' you. I love your videos!
So so pretty and elegant! Would LOVE to make a coverlet with this pattern. Thank you so much for sharing this! I'll add it to my backburner project list
I love this pattern. It reminds of what my grandmother used to pin on the top of her chairs. I am going to hopefully make this and use as a doily or pin it to the top of my recliner. ❤ Your crocheting instructions are so awesome. I love following you so you figure out the mistakes for me! 😊 Seriously you are an excellent teacher or instructor. Thank you a million times over. ❤
Hello Corrina, beautiful crocheted square today. I can see this made many different ways. Thanks for the time and effort for this video. Looking forward to the next one.
I did not expect to like it as much as I do! That bed is gorgeous. Maybe making up 4 or 8 squares in worsted weight would be a nice motif to decorate a couch like a throw blanket. Though the lacey holes might be too big in worsted weight for it to withstand the abuse of a real bed blanket.
You did it again, you just made my life a little easier. I have two friends whose birthdays are exactly 5 weeks apart (August 1 and September 5), and I was going to make them a tablecloth as a couples gift, but that's currently outside my skill set (it would never be ready in time). After explaining this, it was decided that two afghans would be fine. There is a slew of channels here, with Russian or Turkish ladies who make all sorts of squares (none speak English, but the ones who don't speak at all are the least confusing); I found one for him, and I think I can convert this to an afghan for her. Let's get to prototyping! And thank you again!
Oh, how I enjoy these mystery crochet videos! I wonder if that s c along the edge instruction refers to the long edges of the sewn-together insert-just to neaten it up.
Wow so beautiful !! 24/7 cotton in different colors wud look pretty for center and solid around , I love the purse idea , also a jacket , wud of love to seen trim , this is so pretty !! Thank You and Justin so much for this one ❤ it !!
Oh tis is gorgeous! Now I am yearning for a bedcover, pillow shams and would definitely have to have a purse from this as well! It reminds me of how my grandmothers rooms decor. She had croceht in every room from what I can remember. Love it!
Elegant sounds great im courious . I have to make a circular jacke/vest for my niece, I know witsh pattern I will use. I like it. Luckely you show such things to us. Thank you so much *eddit: currently working on that pattern, doing the " triangle" (ch 5, sc, dc, tc, dc) in the back bump of the chain 5 makes HUGE differents! I don't think Corinna is mentioning it on this part (even so she does in most every video😉) I didnt do it ad first, but changed my mind. I learned that defenetly from Corinna!
Hi! I just recently found your channel and have been watching your backlist of videos. I have loved watching you figure out the mystery patterns. I don't make what you are along with you, but I do crochet while I watch. I'm currently making a patchwork cardigan. Have a great day!
I could not interpret a pattern to save my life. I wish you could show us just how to join just four of them according to those directions, to let us see how that would work. From what I am looking at, I would change the last or perhaps the last two rounds by a stitch here or there for joining together. Edit although since you showed the insert and I actually took a look at it this time, I think I could manage it as is... but by watching this tutorial again cuz I can't read patterns and understand what they mean. I've been trying to learn from you but.... well, let's just say that I've known how to crochet since 1972, or about 5th grade, but I haven't even completed but about 15 or 20 simple projects in that time with slip, single, and double stitches. I have tried to read patterns on countless occasions. I just don't know what they mean to do and I struggle with it worse than you do, but all the time. If I look at a done project it seems instinctual for me to duplicate it. If I have an idea I want to make it, I'll figure out how to make it. I get creative and inventive and pretty soon, it's done. Trying to figure out and do a written pattern is tantamount to doing algebra in my head. Skip that, I can't do it on paper either - all the time - which is to say, sometimes I actually get lucky.
If you want to pick up this pattern to go along with the video

I have a bunch of crochet pattern books from the 1980s. Would it be ok if I sent them to you? I would pay for the shipping.
Beautiful❤
It’s truly beautiful! Too bad women don’t get together like they used to and make new brides bedspreads like these. What a treasure!

Its unbelievable, what stunning things they had those days ❤
Absolutely gorgeous,a perfect reflection of the elegance and refinement of the 1920's

21:15 the reason your triangles are not so 'triangly' is because you worked a double instead of a double-treble
I was thinking this square would be pretty as an insert into the back of a jacket. It would turn something ordinary into something spectacular!😊❤
I love this idea!

Just beautiful. But can you imagine the amount of work going into making bedspreads, pillows, doilies... for an entire house like this?
Make 2 of these, and turn them into the cover of your scrapbook binder! Soo beautiful!
I love these mystery patterns. Its fun wathcing them come to life!
That would make a gorgeous bedspread
And I was right!!! Scrapbook worthy! Well done Corinna! 👏🏻
I enjoy your videos. It reminds me of trying to teach myself from patterns almost 60 years ago.
Funny part is that I am crocheting something else as I watch and occasionally find myself incorporating your stitches into my project. Frog “rippit”. Lol
I look forward to this all week!❤❤❤
Me too! She is so talented!
'I hate it less. I like it more.' I laughed a little too hard. Love how this is working up.

I do the " loud talking" as well. My poor tablet, luckely it has no ears 😉😂
You do beautiful work - I’m addicted!
That would make a beautiful Afghan

Hello Corrina, beautiful crocheted square today. I can see this made many different ways. Thanks for the time and effort for this video. Looking forward to the next one.
Best crochet channel by far ❤
Long timer watcher, first time commenting. When I saw you frog, my heart went to my knees. Love your channel❤ ❤ from Canada.
I always love watching your work and these mystery patterns are such fun. Thank you for all your fabulous work.
This is one my favs that you've done! Absolutely gorgeous! Awesome job Corina! Chef's kiss 🤌💋💜
This was a stunning pattern. I will likely pick that up and make one for myself in the original style shown. It is just so beautiful!
Very pretty. Love the way they insert the square into material.
I'm not a sewer but it sounds so difficult to insert the crochet pieces into the centre and sides? And the crochet border? It blows my mind
Justin really got it right with this one, it's gorgeous! I'll definitely be using this one in the future x
This mystery thing you do is absolutely amazing. I enjoy watching the work you do. Your very talented.
That is a beautiful square.
This is sooo pretty and dainty!
❤ round seven ends " chain 5" so round eight starts whit 5 chains 😊 so beutiful!!! Love from Sweden ❤

I think so!
Another Beauty! Wow! Thank you!
So very pretty and very versatile. This would make a beautiful coverlet for a bed or couch.
Beautiful. Would be pretty in #10 thread too
That would also make a nice doily

Thank you! 😊

This is a gorgeous square! It has so many uses.
Make enough squares and attach them together to make a full blanket
Wow...I paused it at the start of the 12th round. This will for sure be a scrap book keeper! Ok, on to round 12. Cant wait to see how it ends up!
With that typeset the S can look like 5. I think you should add the border to just one or two sides of the square.
Well done! The bag idea is beautiful.
Elegant sounds great im courious .

I can't use small hooks, could I do this with a 5mm and #4 yarn?
Where did you find the hook
I love Susan bates hooks.
Etsy :)
Thank you for all you do.
