This man was very smart , During a train journey, Swami Vivekananda wore a wristwatch that caught the attention of a few girls. They decided to play a prank on him and demanded the watch, threatening to complain to the police that he was harassing them. Unperturbed, Swami remained silent and pretended to be deaf. He gestured to the girls to write down their demands on a piece of paper. Unbeknownst to them, he could actually hear and understand their words. With the paper in his possession, he calmly called the police and declared, “I have a complaint to make.” His quick-witted response left the girls astounded and taught them a lesson about their own mischievousness.

      @raghunathgarai6175 9 месяцев назад

@@bandhabindaas interesting question. it reminds of the famous riddle - who came first egg or chicken. Answer I can think of is that egg or chicken can not be produced out of nothing but they must have tranformed or evolved from something else. In the same way energy must be there somewhere in some other form. It might be present as matter as we now matter can be changed to energy or in something else but it can not be void. something should have been there from which all these have been evolved.

13:40 , I don't know about Abrahamic faiths but in the dharmic society, science has been evolved from philosophy and submerged into the culture and scriptures. Like literally, there are some scriptures like Brahm samhita and Surya Siddhanta in which there are first mentions of pi as a number and it's correct value to 6 decimal places . It also contains some basic kinematics, correct explanation of solar and lunar eclipse, distance between sun and earth , qualitative discription of Newtonian gravity and many mathematical substances , anyone can read these , they are online . India has been the epicentre of science and mathematics, before invasions. It was the richest country accounting for 31percent global GDP share . In classical Japanese, India is known as 'tenjiku', which translates as “the land of heaven”. This is only an indication of how Japanese culture appreciates the Indian civilization.

By underdeveloped mind, he meant, any individual who's not a Rishi yet, ie. who doesn't know the truth. An "underdeveloped mind" can obviously pretend that "yeah, I know the truth/ only my religion teaches the truth, so I don't need idols" and so on, but in reality, he still doesn't know the truth, he's just ignorant or dogmatic. Moreover, if he puts his ego aside and uses an idol, he might be able to focus better on the truth (it doesn't work for everyone though).

@@stayspiritual Part of being one in Hinduism is explained this way in Vedas with water as metaphor... Imagine You r a drop of water ...there r millions of drops of water in different environments all around the world. We have to realise that we all r one just like when all water drops combine they loose their identity and becomes a big pool of water.
When all water drops combine in that one ocean we realise each one drop and the ocean is one and the same in constitution. Ocean ( God) doesn't loose its identity when water drops evaporate and fall as rain in diff places. But ultimately all water wants to merge with the ocean whose identity is not different from the drop. When water is put in steel glass or a plastic tub or a pool only the external body is changing. ..water remains water. Some water is contaminated ..some just clean ..some cristal pure.
Our completeness as souls lies in realising that we r all same and just desire to merge with God. We r part of the same universal soul whom we call God! Our aim of life is to realise this truth. As we take births we progress spiritually to the next up level till we get a birth where we r in complete knowledge of who we r and who is God. That's when we merge with the divine soul and it's this homecoming that we strive for birth after birth.

Regarding Idolatry, in Hinduism there is a philosophy of Nirakar ( formless) divinity wherein people attempt to attain realisation without worshiping idols. The followers of Vedant do not worship idols and are well accepted within Hindu society. That's why till date we Hindus have no conflict with Buddhism, Jainism and Sikhism (God is formless in all these religions). Hinduism is a very fluid and flexible philosophy. That's why it still exists. We Hindus are allowed to walk on our own path of spirituality to attain the knowledge of ultimate truth. Some worship idols to reach there and some don't

Whatever he spoke is true for me as a hindu.
Even if u create a world only for christianss or muslimss, there will be a time in future when some men and women wd attain enlightenment and Sanatan dharma would appear again, as if it was never lost. The spiritual laws cant be stopped. Its a more profound science that a young religion cant understand. Sanatan/hinduism is sum total of thousands of self realised beings who experienced the truth via direct experience. Thats why a hindu is so accepting and non-petty. We see humans as humans. Our scriptures see humans as humans. We see life as life. We r busy in perfecting ourselves, meanwhile christianss and muslimss are busy converting. The whole concept of conversion is lower and unspiritual. We r aiming to the top of the mountain. There r many paths, choose one and quit crying becoz the journey begins after u choose the path . Walking up the mountain is religion. It symbolises a man going beyond his body and mind limitations and experiences. Its none of ur business to decide which path is right ir wrong, ur business is to choose ur path and WALK.

    .
    Good selection of video.
"I dont need an idol now, I have graduated".... It is not any negative. It is a tool. A pole vaulter uses a pole to reach the bar but has to NECCESSARILY drop the pole at the bar or land in a mess. You leave the boat at the shore, you don't drag it around with you on land.
As many paths to the goal, so many religions. You can reach point B from point A via an infinite number of paths. YET, if you want a straight line path, it is called Non Duality, Advaita. Advaita is the ultimate, the Quintessence of Hinduism. The contradictions are only apparent. The same One Light of Non Duality shining through glasses of different colours.
Swami uses the word Effulgent here to mean self shining. Our senses, mind, intellect, memories, imaginations, emotions, sensations, etc are not self shining, rather they depend on the self shining light of consciousness to illumine them. That which is self shining and self revealed and reveals others is called the Effulgent here. The sanskrit word used for it is "Swaprakasha" / Swaprabha which literally means self- light.
"Sad that the process is slow", - the Hindu is not sad about this. This knowledge has been there in this earth for about 10-15 thousand years and yet has been subdued and muted, risen and set on the world many times over and it will wane again before it can wax. Perhaps it may never get a chance to fully liberate mankind before the next meteorite will vaporize us, and it is ok. This universe has no beginning and end, and none of this knowledge is a creation, but an ever present reality from which we borrow for a time.

What he means by experiencing universal consciousness is samadhi, a yogi experiences a state in which whole physical world is part of him and he is in everything like literally. The full potential of yoga is unknown ti even greatest of yogis.

But someone going faster than a car on his legs must have something great working within him
That what we see as devine being, and The Great Vivekananda was an example of it

When he said undeveloped minds it means people of all humanity not just Hindus. even Islam which is anti-image has a symbol of Islam, maccah stone in kabba which they kiss and bown down to 5 times a day. no religion is pure non-idolator unless we are in Nirvikalpa Samadhi/Nirvana, in Propertyless/ Zero/Shunya state where subjective consciousness and objective perception(manifested universe) is in Yoga/Union/Nondual.

The deeper you go into idolotry in hinduism, you will only realise the oneness of all different idols, so its not offensive…. It is not offensive to state a fact respectfully… looking down upon it is..

You are the consciousness, the pure consciousness, the same supreme consciousness that was, is and will always be there. You are not this body. Your true self is hiding behind this body because you are attached to the ego, joys, sorrows, pain and happiness of this body. The moment you detatch yourself from these, you will see yourself standing far away from this body because the ultimate truth is that your true self is something other than this body i.e. your pure consciousness.

Did you find the seed of the thought happiness is a choice. You are what you think and do. This is Vedic philosophy. Humanity with maturity will eventually stumble upon Vedic philosophy / belief systems. Shri Shri Ramakrishna Paramhansa, Swami Vivekananda's Guru, was the soul he describes.

There are two school of thought in Hinduism. One is sagun and nirguna. Nirguna believes not it idol worship and claim that it is for undeveloped minds.
Though I am lazy to do idol worship and according to Hinduism time period on earth is divided in 4 yugas. Each yuga has different ways to achieve love for god. Previous yug's dharma/way was idol worship... This yug's way is taking lords name or chanting. I take Krishna's name.. you guys can decide what to take. But that doesn't mean one cannot attain perfection through idol worship. We have a ritual called pran pratishtha which makes idol inhabits the deity which is made for. Deity literally comes to idol. People have seen the process and confirm. But that deity is in vulnerable form. It gives you opportunity to engage with him. Bathe him, feed him , protect etc. There are many activities related to god which can fulfill one's material need to do distorted things. Like hearing lord's glories, stories will help your ears, eating prasad( food which was offered to lord) for tongue... Similarly properly doing idol worship can prevent your lusty desires ...

I can just tell you something, when a hindu child is born when is he taught the first thing he used to ne taught in India is to take an universal identity that is " Aham Brahmasmi" which means i take my Identity as one with the universe when one takes such an identity all species, all vegetation all stars and galaxies are mine meaning anything destroyed is me being destroyed anything killed is me myself getting killed hence u can see a hindu feeding the ants, wetting mother earth with water or milk as even the earth has to get its share, it might boggle a western mind but thats how we perform duties, theres a lot to say however this comment section would be too less a space to write everything. May god bless all of us and lead us all to absolute truth.❤

At 30:47 the way I try to think about it is that each of us observes one perspective of consciousness so to speak. That crazy guy is expressing one perspective of consciousness, he lacks your perspective or mine or someone else’s to behave differently. You don’t understand his behavior because you lack his perspective that makes it feel natural to him.
Under the right circumstances we can shares our perspectives with each other in some form of expression (ie: direct communication/conversation, visual art, music, etc.). Now, if you take sum total of all of our individual perspectives, you have the totality of consciousness, which is the “Unity” I believe you speak of, and ultimately the “Brahman” that is spoken of in Advaita Vedanta (not to say that this is an authoritative description of Vedanta, just my way of wrapping my head around it).

Hinduism is inherently scientific. There is no religion vs science debate in Hinduism. Thats more an abrahamic thing. Also about the idolatry, the word itself is a derogatory one often used by missionaries and people who wish to convert others. The word is idol worship .There is an entire philosophy about Idol worship and it’s not some sort of underground, vague, cultish or sinister practice as a perceived in the west. Idol worship is about using a portal that best allows you to reach a higher level of being. That is why idols are so varied and the whole concept is so pluralistic. One has to understand that there is a basic difference between how organic native faiths think about existence and how founder organized religions, especially proselytizing ones think about existence. And since Hinduism is all about experience, it allows for experience at different levels, depending on the capacity and the desire of the individual. If an individual is happy with his existence on earth with no desire to explore any further, he or she still deserves happiness of the soul. Worshiping an idol of choice offers that. At the highest level where the soul becomes part of cosmic existence no such thing is required. The Rishis are the ones who have realized this and can only offer their guidance to anyone who wishes to listen. Even they cannot live somebody else’s life for them. They cannot experience what another individual experiences. In many ways, it is probably the most democratic and individualistic of concepts that ever existed.

@Stayspiritual Here's the perspective on Idolatry. As SwamiV said every Soul bears a body it can contain. The mind in the body tries to enrich its soul by trying to know, worshipping and idolize the SUPREME. While it depends on the intellect of the soul at that stage to understand the supreme is Omnipresent, it starts with an imagery/Idol form to relate it to the mind. It should reach maturity and leave the idolatry to understand that every form surrounded by self is Supreme Energy. At that stage one sees god in every form.. in other Human, Tree, Animal, every element of Earth and the visible universe. At this matured stage the mind tends to look Inwards in to the soul in search of supreme.. DHYANAM (Meditation through Penance) where Idolatry is VOID 🙏
