I first heard John MacArthur preaching through “the gospel according to Jesus” a few years ago. I was doing what I thought was great in my walk...that series really threw me for a loop and made me doubt my salvation. I struggled with that for a couple years because of his teaching. I had a couple pastor friends of mine tell me to not listen to John MacArthur. If you want to be robbed of the joy of your salvation, listen to that series or read the book. Thank you so much for such clarity Pastor Dennis.
Dr. Rokser is a teacher at Chafer Seminary too. Andy is lucky to have him. Dr. Rokser also has a 12 video series on Grace vs. Lordship that shouldn't be missed; eternity is a long time.

Brother Rokser is 100% right on the Gospel ,Jesus paid it all . I was caught up in Lordship salvation for years, was miserable and ended up losing all assurance of salvation and thinking I could never reach the standard of MacArthur etc I ended up backsliding right back into the world head first in despair. Thankfully I came back to the Lord in 2016 and look to the Lord Jesus not my works. This is a wonderful explanation by Brother Rokser of what the Gospel is and is not.
God bless you Pastor, what a tremendous revelation about repentance salvation eternity, I know you are led by the Holy Spirit. So many other things you shared so boldly about God’s TRUTH which is in the Bible. I pray that the Lord will continue to give you more revelation and wisdom to share to simple people like me . For a couple years I have been trying to share my precious Pastor’s teachings about putting your trust in Jesus Christ and it has been difficult as many believe in the sinners prayer, repentance etc .They believe salvation cannot be so easy but as you said it’s about the JESUS ON THE CROSS WHO PAID FOR OUR SINS ... I can’t go on about how wonderful this presentation was. I am struggling however. I know this all logically and I believe all of it, even to tears, knowing in my mind I am saved. BUT! I have trust issues because of my upbringing. My anxious heart won’t let me put trust into action so I am resting and trusting in my Savior. I don’t know if that makes sense to anyone. I am praying about it and I desperately want rest and joy. I can only come up with in some way pride is the issue somehow. I REALLY don’t want to carry anything, I so want the Lord too, but I feel so awful all the time for bruising Him. That’s really hard for me to let go of. The Lord has forgiven me, but I don’t know how to forgive myself for hurting my Father.😭😭😭

RE: the "one-string banjo" of the Church of Christ: I recently monitored one of their publications, the Gospel Preceptor (Aug. 2019-March 2020). In 200 articles of an 8-month span there were 18 articles on baptism. Only 6 on the Lord Jesus (3 by one author). In 200 articles Acts 2:38 was cited 102 times. One-string banjo....
Just want to add , mcArthur's Lordship Salvation message when absorbed with a heart that desires to please God, feels like a lashing of whips on your back. I have been thrown for a loop and felt fearful listening to his Lordship stuff at times. Unless you want to get twisted like a pretzel, I'd advise anyone to be careful getting into MacArthur's stuff
Actually all 3 raised Jesus from the dead. The Father did. The Spirit did. and also, Jesus himself - Destroy this temple and in three days I WILL raise it up (John 2:19). vs 21 tells us he was speaking about HIS body with respect,
The Gospel of the kingdom of God is what Jesus taught and that's more than just believe in death burial and resurrection Mark1:14-15 Matthew 24:14 Paul also taught the Gospel of the kingdom of God Acts28:30-31
So you believe you don't need to repent of your sins, even after you've been saved? Doesn't that make a mockery of grace, turning it into a license to keep on sinning?
As long as you live in this flesh you will sin, and you will sin until the day you die! Repentance comes through having the indwelling of the Holy Spirit which empowers us to overcome sin in our daily walk with Christ. You are a new creation in Christ all things have become new!

All of MacArthurs writings n thoughts are based on calvinism! Just saying. I have heard these influences in so many levels it is unclear to many. Thanks for clarification n discernment this message brings to develop our understanding of the scriptures!

There's no such thing as a lukewarm Christian. Either you trust Christ through faith alone, or not. You're confusing salvation with growth and discipleship. There should be transformation of a Christian, once saved, meaning growth in biblical knowledge and fellowship with the Holy Spirit, but it's not required for salvation. That's what this video was about.

Five of the Ten virgins were Lukewarm. All were virgins. Were the 5 needing oil, were they Lukewarm???? There could be many Christians left behind in the rapture because they were not watching and ready. Would they be lukewarm? God hates lukewarmness. We are advised not to be lukewarm or he would reject us.

In 200 articles of an 8-month span there were 18 articles on baptism. Only 6 on the Lord Jesus (3 by one author). In 200 articles Acts 2:38 was cited 102 times. One-string banjo....
Just want to add , mcArthur's Lordship Salvation message when absorbed with a heart that desires to please God, feels like a lashing of whips on your back. I have been thrown for a loop and felt fearful listening to his Lordship stuff at times. Unless you want to get twisted like a pretzel, I'd advise anyone to be careful getting into MacArthur's stuff

Yes, I hear this stuff all the time. This 'repent of your sins' nonsense has the effect of causing people to doubt their salvation.
So you believe you don't need to repent of your sins, even after you've been saved? Doesn't that make a mockery of grace, turning it into a license to keep on sinning?

As long as you live in this flesh you will sin, and you will sin until the day you die! Repentance comes through having the indwelling of the Holy Spirit which empowers us to overcome sin in our daily walk with Christ. You are a new creation in Christ all things have become new!

There's no such thing as a lukewarm Christian. Either you trust Christ through faith alone, or not. You're confusing salvation with growth and discipleship. There should be transformation of a Christian, once saved, meaning growth in biblical knowledge and fellowship with the Holy Spirit, but it's not required for salvation. That's what this video was about.
