2011 Equinox the arm attached to the motor is attached by a ball joint bushing that justs snaps on, Twice one of arms would come off. Take it all down the second time put a new bushing on. It came off so I pulled the whole motor out drilled a hole through the bottom and put a cotter pin through both of them. All was ok until my son called me awhile ago and said they quit working again. Does this model have a problem with the wipers or is it just this one out of thousands.? When he gets home this will be four times!
The wiper motor/transmission problem is prevalent with the Chevy Equinox - I have owned two and the wipers stopped working in both vehicles in inclement weather. This is a problem GM desperately needs to fix because someone is bound to die or be severly hurt in an automobile accident because of the Equinox windshield wiper problem.
That may be so but in my case the problem was a bad relay. At first the dealer refused to accept there was a problem. But once confronted with the video, they suddenly changed their tune and determined there was a service bulletin covering the problem. The relay was replaced under warranty.
Not 100% sure, but the part number they installed is 22819333 "Block 2.483". It could be part of the fuse/relay block under the hood. The owner's manual shows micro-relay 61 is the "wiper on/off control" and 64 is "wiper speed". I don't know if it's one of those or something else. But it's expensive, like $350!! This website indicates it's the whole darned fuse box!! nemiga.com/cat_spares/epc/chevrolet/1l2-l/02/ml02-014/

I've not heard of this problem before.
