The motive of the director is that too

This short film delivers the message that maybe we should not be so quick to judge ....but the man acted so creepy that anyone could have misunderstood him. So yeah never ignore your gut feeling.
Raised your voice,that man was
Don’t stalk… just approach in a civil manner and tell her… she will understand
the man should have approached her in a different manner , it doesn't mean that we should get Frank with strangers -
Joshi ka tareeqa hi ghalt tha Is leay aisa to hona tha larki ko guilt feel karnay ki koi Zaroorat nahi
I am so happy that the audience here is not driven by the story's end , people here are right to believe that his ways of expression weren't right at any point his every move was that of a stalker and the girl believed his gut and should continue so....
Never expected so confusing message from this channel's short film! Girls please be alert and always raise ur voice whenever you feel uncomfortable, no matter what !! It's not the girl's fault for whatever this uncle did.
Yep. That wasnt up to their standards
Exactly! This is only tending to increase our "let's analyse the situation, maybe he didn't do it with that intention, maybe it was a mistake" thought, which always gives the benefit of the doubt to the perverts.

This shows what the writers, directors and producers think about girls today. They think the girls are overacting with all the things that are happening to them everyday.
absolutely
True
It's really not girl's fault. Any girl will take this type of action and I'm from her side.
It was actually girls fault
It is always girls fault in such cases
No no no don't misunderstand me as a misogynist kinda a guy
I am actually a feminist kinda guy
It's just that at first they don't take any action which isn't exactly their fault but when they do they always tend to burst and come under the control of their stupid hormones which they should learn to control just like the law tells us men to control ours.
They should be more like men like me, if don't like it tell immediately and clarify things and don't carry boredom and if like it then clarify that also stop doing things that you might regret later and stop carrying things that disturb you mentally
Many people might start saying things to me like it's not easy, you weren't in that situation so you don't understand etc etc
I am currently 49 years old and have never had any regrets or any boredom in life except that of work just because I follow this technique and that is why even many of my coworkers look forward to me as a friend and teacher also and also have good relations with everyone because I have learnt to listen and speak at correct time and control myself in some of worst situations
@@sarthaksachdev7006 yes, its definitely the girl's fault for getting stalked by a creep. totally not his fault, why don't we change the law? imprison the victim! because how dare they allow themselves to get harassed?

Mother sooth
Yes, it's her fault. She should take action on first day, everyday she kept her anger her control and that day by day increased, and the last day she hurt that oldmam lot, who looked at her like his daughter,
So guys we learn from this video Never keep the anger in your heart, One day these little temper will become very big,And you won't be able to control that and you will hurt someone like that...
Wrong message here. The girl's reaction was absolutely OKAY. It's the fault of that Grandpa for not being more subtle about the interactions.....
Thank god i saw so many guys in the comments being like its the girl's fault like wth?
Stalking is an offence regardless of what the motive is....stop confusing women like this as such concepts can cause more harm to women.
Exactly 😑
Yess me too think that
By this definition, all your school friends and family members are stalkers, right?
True

Dear feminazi, confronting to the point do talking is good, not to get violent and throw things around. Because of feminazis like u and jasleen kaur women empowerment movement si becoming weak
@@thatsthething3218 I think you accept gifts from people who stalk you and your comment suggests you are not a woman else you would have known. I have faced such stalking incidents and know the pain. One feels so scared even to confront such people. True woman empowerment is then when you start encouraging females to fight stalkers rather than confusing them with such portrayals thanks to pseudo feminist like you.
@@thatsthething3218 what's your point? She should confront her stalker who might be a potential threat? Why didn't he confront her properly ki beta you look like my long lost daughter? Why do u expect her to understand?
Correct, he could have invited her & introduced to his daughter Meghna..
I was in the same situation when I was 20. The so called uncle who was around this age was giving me too much attention saying I'm like his daughter. Eventually he tried to kiss me on the lips and put his hands through my shirt. This triggers many things for me. No uncle should behave this way.

@@yachandravenkatesh9347 yep.
I understand what creators wanted to tell us by this short movie, but what they wanted to show in that scene in which Mr. Joshi calls that little girl and locked the door after girl enters ???
That scene scared me. I thought I took a wrong decision to watch this video.
Girl did the right course of action.. Such good feelings and thoughts must be immediately conveyed rather than stalking.. Great acting by shweta.. Amazing script and dialogues
Shweta is Born Actress ....no words for her skill ..only Applause ...Really very natural and spontanious ..superb superb superb ✌✌✌
Yes totally agreed she was amazing in Makdi too, very young but so talented I'm a fan of her ❤
True... In taskant files too.. she just nailed it
It's not her fault actually. If a man reacts like this way then any girl will take it badly.
Literally anyone would think like that. It's like a spy recording their daily routine to kill them one day🙄
But I feel that if the girl had established proper confronting communication with the uncle, this wouldn't have happened.
The girl did it our of fear which disabled her from judging the situation through different perspectives. When she realised her top was torn, she could have thought that the uncle was trying to tell her the same, but she took it the other way Instead because of all the misleading news and chatters she heard.
This shows a fear driven side of our society.
It is neither the girl nor the uncle to be blamed. It's just the wrong practice we have of thinking that if one of the member is characterless then, all will be.
@@likitadevi Why do you think the girl should communicate properly? It was the man who wanted to establish a relationship with her. He should have spoken to her properly instead of taking the stalker route. Imagine a situation where the man actually had bad intentions, then would you have gone and spoken to him? Nobody would have. So maybe you should see the situation from the girl's perspective. She didn't know whether the man had good intentions with her. She took it as a case of stalking and did the right thing.
@@sanjanakavale4257 Yes, the man did it the wrong way but if the girl had listened to him for at least once, everything could have been different and as the movie itself said, no matter how right you're, if you say it in wrong way, it has consequences.
The man called the little girl in but there was no news of any child going missing, so, was our thought of man having bad intentions justified?
@@likitadevi Maybe our conclusions of the man having bad intentions were flawed, but can you blame us? The way it was showed indicated bad intentions. There are many things that are just assumed when it comes to films. We have all been told, since we were children, not to accept chocolates from strangers or to go anywhere unaccompanied. So, when the child was shown going to the man's house, it's not wrong to assume he has bad intentions. They did not have to include any disappearance scene for us to make those conclusions. This scene was just used by the director for us to create a particular image of the man, which was supposed to be disproved as the film progresses so that there is at least some sense of suspense in the film. But, the way the film disproves it is completely wrong. They try to show it as the women's fault when it clearly isn't. That man is completely at fault here.
who invites a child home showing them a chocolate .that is absolutely wrong message and can not be right from any perspective
It happens that's why parents deny to talk to strangers
Also, shuts the door from behind.
No, some people don't know how to behave with children and others . They only show their intentions and some people speak less because their pain make them like that
yes.
true
Sorry - but the behaviour of that uncle was outright creepy...would freak anyone out. No sympathies there.
starry day agree.. he should have use words like beta n all to show respect n love.. the way he is acting is really creepy
Dear sometimes who have lost their dear one in young age ..... Go through such trauma that when they see someone like their demised one they are in a shock and sometimes they behave differently ..... I'm so glad that people aren't antagonising Meghna here. Mr. Joshi sure was a sweet man who probably had difficulty expressing his feelings after his daughter's death, but the way he portrayed himself to Meghna was creepy. She didn't know this man personally and her first impression of him is "creepy stalker guy with ulterior motives" fuelled by his perpetual behaviour towards her as well as the news in general. The ending was heartbreaking, though. I cried a bit. No lie. :'(
Good to see Shweta coming back in movies. She is a powerful actor. Respect.
This video literally discourages girls from acting against stalkers and portrays it as overreacting! How insensitive!
but acting also means first talking to someone personally, the girl without knowing anything about that man humiliated him publically,i know the way he acted was creepy, but i think firstly she should have talked to him personally, humiliating someone personally without even having basic knowledge about someone is not right, you dont know what phase they are going through and what your one impulsive decision could lead to
Shut up.feminazi! No such message like that

Woah why did u show him calling a kid inside n shutting the door. Misleading story. Outright stupid
Ofcourse the direction was wrong anyone would feel something wrong but I think uncle used to love girls like his daughter and give chocolate as he wanted to gift her own daughter ..but surely the direction was very misleading
His way of looking at that girl creeped me out through the screen
But that's the whole point.it's hard to differentiate who is bad or good.
Agree
It is shown to create suspens... initially viewers start thinking him as child molester...then big surprise
I also felt that uncle was really creepy and he should have talked to the girl. But as the song started " iraadon ko alfaazon main bayan na kar paya " I understood that the uncle was also going through so much and he was just happy looking at the girl. He was trying to talk to her. He just couldn't.

I don't know what to make out of this movie. It is not always about truth. The topic is really sensitive and I feel there were so many instances from beginning where she felt uncomfortable and it was really evident even when the girl started running. Justifying emotions of the man just because the girl looked familiar to his daughter doesn't make everything right.
It is unexplainable that he felt daughterly emotions towards the girl but he in fact made her uneasy when she did not wanted that affection or attention from him.
So just saying that the stalker was a good stalker kuki usme use any beti dikhti thi kahi se shi nhi. It is a scary situation for another person and what matters is how u make her feel consciously /unconsciously through ur action.

All he had to do was call her "beti" once. Your actions define you. If he wanted a daughter he should have acted like father. Can't just touch random women like this. No fatherly figure stalks women like this. Plus that auto scene no father touches the hands of their daughter like this. This is a completely flawed story.
I think he was just being himself, it was innocently of his nature, he was the way he was. And he was trying to prove himself but he couldn't proove it. He tried, way of approaching was little bit wrong. But ultimately approach doesn't matter, intention is matter.
@@kishansalariya7843 Thats the point intentions also shape up actions. His action of touching her in auto was not of a fatherly figure. I have seen a lot of elderly people who are affectionate towards children then don't touch them like that. Plus she was a grown up woman.
@@prustep9084
Talking about auto scene how many of you thought SHE WAS VERY RUDE TO THE DRIVER FOR NO FAULT OF HIS.Also its not sure if ever she apologized the auto driver for her behavior.
However her boss did.
What do you think about indian culture.
In our culture is it perceived okay to be rude to those 'lower' on heirarchy?????
चुभती बहुत है सच में कुछ यादें जीवन भर। 😢😢
Instead he could have directly told her that I see my daughter in you.
Poor direction with no logical scenes...yes, he could have told her... Poor plots
Yes, its like the old man was waiting for her reaction.
She didn't let him speak...he tried to say her something but she left with fear of being stalked..
It wasn't her fault. Now a days we couldn't be more careful. The uncle was indeed acting creepy, so it wasn't her fault
Chubhan' is a stunning portrayal of the complexities of human emotions and the unsaid words that often hold the most weight. Shweta Basu Prasad and Manoj Kolhatkar deliver outstanding performances, bringing to life the silent battles we face. Directed by Sachin Arun Gokhale, this short film is a beautifully crafted piece that speaks volumes about the fear of opening up, even to those closest to us. It's thought-provoking, moving, and a must-watch for anyone who values cinema that deals with the human psyche. Indeed, it is a perfect short film.
The worst message ever. The fact that she felt guilty protecting herself against anyone was wrong. Women shouldn’t feel that way nor stand for any behavior they don’t feel comfortable with. Neither should men.

Separate comment for boss guy in the movie: Remember this in any relationship: Praise in public, criticize in private and always do it on appropriate time without a miss.
I mean the concept of the story is okay however if the uncle was considering her as her daughter than why d gestures body language and intentions was so wrong
Bcz nowadays our thinking is like tht which pok us for alwys think negative.

If I was a girl, I would react exactly same as her as a total stranger who gets creepy looks from an old guy. The story is senseless.
But if you were a boy i gurantee you would have stare her big ASS
@@jayatisukant5889 wtf are you talking about.. Don't stereotype every man as not everyone's mindset and mentality is the same
Moral of the story openhearted communication is better than assumption 🥳
Story is good, new concept of other side is also good. Is just what uncle couldn't say, he could have expressed in some other way. His way of expressing was wrong and that leads to her thinking about wrong intentions plus that news and people comments, everything went in overthinking. Which is also good point showed here, make sure what you are thinking is right before actually reacting out. That's why it's necessary to talk directly when you feel something unsual around you with others. I love the work! I definietely recommend people to watch this!!!!
Storyline was good, but the expression of Mr Joshi, wasn't anything like that of a father seeing his daughter in another girl.
Wish he had spoken to her instead of quietly following her. Wish she had asked him politely why he stalked her. Communication is so important.
@1:55 what was the point of showing this creepiness?
All this short film is saying is 'give creeps a chance'.. Never thought I'd say this, Sandeep Reddy Venga justified his movie better.
Also, why the title??
Amit Chawla yes

Exactly my point.. if that was the case then that man would have said that in the very first meeting.. it nvr looked lyk that he see her as his daughter.. mtlb ab aap bologe ki us ldki ko guilt hona chahiye bcz usne over react.. or is bat ki use hmesha "chubhan" rhe..

An extremely confusing, too much misleading and perfectly misguiding, yet very powerful movie...all the leading actors especially acted so much naturalistically and realistically. The camera angles were ingenious, so the locations were...
thats right Tamizhakam, But still good one , I also create short thriller films, may be you can give them a try. I hope you will like them.

but she should react sooner...
if the man was really a stalker....

I agree with you. Finally , some witty male in the comment section. Everyone else is just fighting tf
What the hell...
Nobody grieving for their daughter acts in such a creepy way. She was justified in what she did. He could have dropped a letter for her or something, why did he have to stare? He didn't even say something. That's not okay and anyone would be terrified.
Strange that it has so many likes. Worst misleading story, creepy acting of "Joshi uncle" and absolutely wrong message. One of the best ways to tackle harassment is to confront it. Keeping quiet normalizes it in society. She should not second guess herself.
It seems like you have not listen the lyrics of the ending song.
listen it carefully 24:25
@@RameshRaj-zc3kn yes i heard, the ending was a twist that was totally incoherent with the rest of the movie
Right and about the little girl he called inside her home
@@RameshRaj-zc3kn I did hear the lyrics. Women can gauge how men look at them. The staring was _not at all_ okay under any circumstances.
About the song,
The man not being able to say his feelings or words doesn't warrant me approving stalker-like behaviour from him.
I had tears by the end of the vdo but its not the same everytime as it is shown and this cannot be forgotten
Okay...look.... there's a problem....1.The uncle is shown really creepy first.....
2. She should asked the uncle why he is following her...
3. Or uncle should clearify why he is following her....
Girls definitely should clearify things before it gets worst....If she is not comfortable being stalking...She should let him know.... Even if he is still stalk her and behave like a pervert...then she should take any actions against the boy.....
BTW.... story was really engaging.
And what about giving chocolate to that lil girl in the beginning of the film, making her come inside and closing the door too??
Yess
No one likes to be stalked. Stalking needs to be reported not clarified. She should confront him.
See I think it is clear from her expressions and attitude that she did not liked what all that uncle was doing.
They copied the whole story from a short film named "the old man and the girl". And then they slightly changed it in a way which ruined the story and made it extremely creepy
amm i have very mixed emotions regarding this excellent short film packed with thousands of emotions. as a girl i can totally related with the emotions she must have felt when she FELT the creepy looks, the face with happiness while he was staring at her and i dont blame her to take the steps she took as in a girl's life these stares , flirt and misbehaving on the streets, markets or even in our own family (mostly extended) is very very common. but she also didnt give a chance to the old man too. he did try talking but the image he had created got the worst behaviour of the lady. so i hope that one day we all create a society where woman dont need to be so defensive that they start judging people wrong. and to make this true we all have to take steps together whether man or woman. ❤ thank u once again for another beautiful script.

Mr. or Mrs. Filmmaker (so called), audience are not fool.
his way of approaching made the situation
A father can never see a daughter like that or follow her daughter everywhere
Worst short film ever. The approach was completely inappropriate. Even if he looked at her like his daughter that's not the way you would follow her or stare her. The whole image of his was completely a creepy one.
Nisha Anchan i absloute agree what a crap
Such a disaster 😫
Fu***k. You
Agree the message here is so wrong
You didn't see the end properly... This man was in depression.. he use to stay alone with his daughter's memories. He tried his best to talk to her in an appropriate manner.. but she always ran away.. he is aged not a teenager that he'll shout on roads for gaining emotional support.. such things need time to talk but she was always in a hurry.
The movie shown here is based on her side of feelings.. where you're feeling that he's creepy.. her intention, her fears.. where she didn't even smile back towards a senior citizen.
It was in her fears.. not in his mentality.
