VW Puebla Plant in Mexico, with TSI engine motor plant in Silao, GTO, have started the assembly Golf 7 for all America. My brother, skilled technician, are working in VW Silao Plant
Cool video showing lots of pieces needing good manufacturing technique. Slightly off topic, I don't see how a Mexican built Golf VII would have the same quality as one from Germany. I heard on a different RUclips video that VW uses locally produced parts. Except for the engine and transmission. Its my belief that Mexican factories have a ways to go before they can claim being world class manufactures. Oh, I am of Mexican descent. It takes many years to get your processes in order.
1.4 TSI 140PS.
+Danne89 I think some models for the European market are also built in Mexico. I don't remember which ones because when I talked about it I was only interested in the Golf, all which are built in Germany for Europe.
Tolles Video! Zt. Golf VII weiss ich, wovon ich rede. Mein nächstes Fahrzeug kommt aus Japan (Mazda 3, CX 30 oder Toyota Corolla Hybrid)!
For those unsure where their VW product is being assembled, here is a simplified crib sheet using the VIN for tracing its provenance. Deciphering three specific digits in the VIN string can tell us a lot. VAG VINs are split into three sections: 1. Digits 1-3 = global manufacturing identifier 2. Digits 4-9 = vehicle description/configuration 3. Digits 10-17 = specific vehicle identification 1st VIN Character: identifies country of main assembly. 1 or 4: USA 2: Canada 3: Mexico A: South Africa J: Japan S: England V: Spain W: Germany 3rd VIN Character: identifies the type of vehicle. G is for sport utility vehicles, U is Audi's passenger car and V or W is Volkswagen's passenger car, etc. Knowing this, a few examples would be: WVW - Volkswagen Cars Germany WVG - Volkswagen SUVs (G=Gelande) VWV - Volkswagen Cars Spain 1VW - Volkswagen Cars USA 3VW - Volkswagen Cars Mexico WAU - Audi Cars Germany 11th VIN Character: reveals the assembly plant for the vehicle. An abridged list for VW+Audi products: A: Ingolstadt, Germany (Audi) B: Brussels, Belgium (Audi) C: Chattanooga (USA) D: Bratislava, Slovakia E: Emden, Germany H: Hannover, Germany M: Puebla, Mexico N: Neckarsulm, Germany (Audi) P: Anchieta, Brazil T: Taubaté, Brazil U: Uitenhage, SA V: Palmela, Portugal W: Wolfsburg, Germany Y: Pamplona, Spain 1: Győr, Hungary (Audi) 2: Anting, China 3: Changchun, China
VW is the most populair car in the Netherlands, you know why? Because the interior is timeless. I think the interior is amazing and even the outside is amazing! VW knows how to make cars. I love VW! Greetings from the Netherlands!
I own a Wolfsburg produced Reflex Silver Mark 6 Golf 5 Door. The build quality is wonderful, from the fit and finish to the base reliability of the car. No previous car I have owned has had a better quality of materials and assembly and that includes domestic (US) and imported from Japan. I have also driven many other cars through rentals and nothing from Korea could even come close. If you maintain a German built VW according to VW's published maintenance schedule you will find them highly reliable and excellent in performance.
Hi, I'm NK105KMLS, a robot at the wolfsburg plant. Unfortunately VW decided to fire me as I had made a few mistakes during production. I am currently unemployed, but can happily make breakfast, beautiful spaghetti bolognese and can mass produce in large scales.. But I am rather useless at washing up, typing and writing using a pen.
Hi Daniel, I've created a playlist which contains footage of all Golfs being assembled, from Mk1 to Mk 6, and you can find a link to it in the description of this video. Some of the footage is very old, so please make allowances for the quality. I've also put a request into the VW Archive to see if I can find more Mk4 footage for you. Hope that's of some interest to you; thanks for watching.
I bought my first Volkswagen after owning four Subaru's, which never gave me any problems. Unfortunately, though my new Golf is great to drive, the DSG failed after less than 4000 kms. Though Volkswagen Australia were very helpful, it has left me feeling uncertain about the car's reliability.
I used to think VWs were unreliable.. And then I bought one.. 171k miles without a single problem. It drives me 50 miles every weekday. I love my VW Passat.
+cornelis sales -- The last Passat to share a platform with the A4 was the B5 and B5.5. It had the A4's longitude-engined/FWD setup...except when equipped with 4MOTION (which was identical to Audi's Quattro system), where it became rear-biased. But the B6, B7, NMS B7 and B8 have all been transverse-engined and FWD...and have essentially used lengthened and widened Golf architectures.
The problem is the DSG. The technology is not good in many brands. I used to own a MINI and was uneasy about the DSG technology so I got a manual. Only six months later, the BMW Group issued a MASSIVE recall in North America saying the DSGs were having issues. I never trust the design. My current car also has a manual because the only other choice was a DSG. I don't know why the DSG crowd whines "But but but the DSG is 1-2 seconds faster!!" Big deal, I don't race my car so I'm perfectly happy with the 6-speed and it's a beauty: very quick and easy to shift and the GTI, like the MINI feels like it was made for a manual. My brother had a 2005 Altima with a DSG and it was a piece of crap. It was so bad that it ruined the resale value. He thought it would fetch $3,000 US at trade-in. Every dealer refused to offer more than $1,800 for it! Nissan's reputation seems to have crapped out too. LOL.
I can care less about what people say about VW's. I'm enthusiastic about driving my GTI and taking care of it, and I already drive a Toyota truck. I'm NOT looking for another "reliable" car. I wanted something FUN on the side that is brand new. This is what no one understands. Say it to my face my VW sucks. People who only think of driving as point A to point B don't understand and take Scotty Kilmer a tad too seriously.
The robotics are very impressive. However, I wonder how many humans lost their jobs, because of modern technology ? But, I do love my VW. Thanks, RickGTI….. 🇺🇸🌴

How neat. Since the start of the Mk.7, the U.S. market Golfs, including my 2015 Golf SportWagen, are instead made in the Puebla, Mexico factory and bought in through a port near Galveston, Texas. The only Wolfsburg-assembled Golfs we get are the Golf R and the e-Golf. Of course, I haven't noticed any differences in build quality.
+Kyree S. Williams The European versions are of course built in Wolfsburg. You know there is a lot of differences between the European Passat and the American Passat, Its weird!

I think that is not so overpriced. At least all the good brand in the world are a bit more expensive, but than don't expect to have the same assistance you have with a VW on a shitty Citroen :D
Compared to a MINI or a BMW, the VW is probably slightly better if only because it's better built inside. BMW and MINI have slightly poorly built interiors compared to the VW. On the other hand, VW's mechanics are horribly incompetent and couldn't tell the difference between a hammer and a wrench. So I guess it's best to toss a coin if torn between a Cooper S or a VW GTI!
In no way on mother earth, would i pick a Cooper S before the GTI Clubsport i just ordered. RUclips videos will probably convince you if not the rest of the million reasons do... To quote: "GTI - Often Copied. Never Equalled."

This probably the reason a lot of vws have issues. I have had quite a few vw and several of them have been junk. Loved my 2008 beetle and love my 2012 bug but I'm just waiting issues to start. I hope not!
First of all because I want to and second of all I was talking about the older vw I had in the 90's and early 00's. I haven't had any issues with my 2008 and 2012.
