their vocals are so strong that the producers had to remove some of the soundtracks because everyone sang as if there were not 6, but 12 people. it is clear that they do not even need to stand close to the microphone to be heard loudly. usually the bands on this show don't have mouths on screen because they sing directly into the microphone. no other band has so many incredibly strong vocalists and of course the rappers sing well too

Melody --- is the fandom name bc BTOB is meant for born to beat the music and every beat has to have a melody. And we also have a unofficial fandom enside the fandom which is Harmony and you mentioned both in your intro reaction lol
These are the name of the members from left to right:
🐿️Minhyuk -- born in 1990, main rapper, also a singer, producer, composer, lyricist, actor (Nightmare teacher, Swordsman, Daejang geum is watching, etc) model, MVP athletic idol (acknowledged). He was in Kingdom. I smiled when you mentioned him as lead vocalist. During early debut, he was called as the hidden vocalist of BTOB. And I believe you were actually talking about Eunkwang (BTOB's main vocalist) in MeyFly vocal unit
🦊Sungjae -- born 1995, main vocal, can also rap, actor (The Village, School 2015, Goblin, Mystic Pop Up Bar, The Golden Spoon), prince of commercials (with awards). He wasn't in kingdom because he started to enlist in military at age 25. Probably the earliest 3rd gen 91 line idol to enlist.
☀️Eunkwang -- born1990, BTOB's leader, main-main vocal, aspired rapper, musical actor (in various musicals), one of the board of directors in Cube. He was also in kingdom. The one you are talking abt with Sungmin and Jonho(?)
🐻Hyunsik -- born 1992, main vocal, can rap, full member of KOMCA, producer, composer, lyricist, BTOB's father of music. He wasn't in kingdom because just like Sungjae he also was in military.
🍑Changsub -- born 1991, main vocal, free style rap, musical actor (in various musicals too), CEO in his own music center, loves rock songs. He also in Kingdom
🐧Peniel -- born 1993, from Chicago, rapper, aspired singer, into podcast (Get Real), a photographer (Penography with 2 exhibitions alr), lyricist, BTOB's English 'teacher'. He can also be a director of films. This guy has a lot of potential, has RUclips channel called POV or Peniel Official Vlog (but I think his company deleted it alr). He also in kingdom and is friend with a stray kids member.
Originally BTOB has 7 members. His name is 👼Ilhoon -- was their main rapper, a producer, composer and lyricist, named the fandom MELODY, left the group in 2020 (but please don't hate him he just having a hard time of his life).
4 members , a.k.a sub unit BTOB 4U were in Kingdom while the other three was in military. BTOB vocals has a sub unit also, name BTOB BLUE.
All members finished military by the end of 2021 except Peniel who is American. They all went by two batches. 90's- 91's (Hyung line) went to enlist with just months gap and the 92's -95's (middle and maknae line) enlist after the hyung line discharged so that Peniel will not be lonely waiting for them to complete military and also for them to be a full group in their 10th anniversary
The members can play at least one instrument. Their music is so diverse so better check their albums for more. BTOB are also part time comedians and I'd recommend you to check on Reserve and Quiet Idol BTOB series in your spare time.

If you get a chance to see BtoB's cover of SKZ's song Back Door that they did on Kingdom, you would love it too. Also, I say this every time but the only people that are not fans of BtoB are just people that have not heard them yet. They are the most ridiculously funny group in Kpop. I feel that they only time they are serious it is about music. I have so many of their videos on my "I Need To Smile" playlist

Thank you for reacting to this. BTOB..an 11 year old, self-composing & producing group, known for their ballads & harmonies. Also known as vocal kings..they have a very diverse discography & not afraid to try new things. They have beautiful ballads but their upbeats are so good too & they have a distinct style & sound that their music is hard to categorize into a genre. BTOB is a genre in itself. Yes, only 4 of them joined Kingdom: Guy#1, 3, 5 & 6 coz guy#2 & 4 were enlisted that time. I can't blame you for hurting your cheeks from smiling..it's the BTOB effect. Watching these guys sing amazingly live & entertain with their comical ways would surely make anyone smile. They do have lovely vocals, beautiful music & great personalities..thank you for appreciating their talent. Hope you could check out their most recent title track, Wind and Wish..really good. If you would like to buy an album to listen to..I recommend Brother Act and/or Be Together..these are full albums filled with their lovely music. Honestly..all their songs are so good..but these 2 albums are really amazing. Also, their recent mini album Wind & Wish is so good too & the songs have that unique oldies style that you might like. I'm glad you enjoyed this! Everyone's managed to squeeze in the basics so here's some absolutely useless facts to give you more a handle on their personalities: (going from left to right)
Lee Minhyuk - widely regarded as the "mom" of the group and he owns it, has said flat out on multiple shows that he walks around naked at home (which also relates to his stripper tendencies on stage), can go full on baby girl mode, is the *sadistic af* fanchant maker, has been married to Eunkwang for ages (sorry I don't make the rules you get used to it after a while) and they both have done numerous *unprompted* domestic roleplays with each other. He also does a lot of harmonizations with anyone singing. Blue Moon (which they performed on Kingdom!) and Higher are his songs that he wrote and composed. Is a gg dance enthusiast along with Eunkwang.
Yook Sungjae - absolutely batshit insane. Does *math puns* based on his surname (Yook is also the Sino-Korean word for the number 6) - his cat's name (Sami) is a math pun. sam (3) x i (2) = yook (6). Is an actual cat (not catboy) and I honestly would not be surprised if he just knocks stuff off tables bc it's there. Old man trapped in a young man body - his hobbies include fishing and golf. was basically the tik toker before tik tok was a thing.
Seo Eunkwang - Catboy agenda on main, openly flirts with any man within a 5 foot radius, is the easy going, much teased "dad" of the group and doesn't let much ruffle him.. has been friends with Changsub since high school (and Changsub has said that Eunkwang is the reason he finished high school). Also a gg choreo enthusiast and the source of the GIVE UP ✊ meme (along with many others)
Lim Hyunsik - is the youngest son of a famous folk singer (Im Jihoon) and is almost a direct copy paste of his dad's face. Has a ^^ smile and is deadly serious when it comes to music - has graded Melodies on their singing for the fanchants (I told you Minhyuk was sadistic with those - he makes Melos sing *and* harmonize) and makes points about how to improve, is the legendary Pokemon of the group as he's somewhat rarely spotted outside of the studio (or above water - he likes to scuba dive). Every song aside from It's Okay, 2nd Confession, Remember That, and Minhyuk's two are Hyunsik's songs. Oh yeah and he's worked with and is friends with Eden (aka Ateez's main producer)
Lee Changsub - former sk8er boi, has a cute little beagle named Guri, likes to go camping in his Jeep, is by far the most reckless of the group, cannot survive without coffee (same king same), has various gremlin noises and laughs, and is weirded out by his sudden rise as Korea's (very grumpy) sweetheart via Jeongwaja (Changing Majors). Is besties with Key of SHINee and Solar of Mamamoo plus has a ton more friends everywhere.
Peniel Shin - nothing but vibes. Just goes along with stuff and even though he seems really stand offish he's always the one showing up at individual MVs and stages for moral support. Will curse up a storm but is a good Jesus boy and will not take the Lord's name in vain. Everyone has picked up his OHMYGAWSH. Has stress induced hair loss so will sometimes have short hair like this or will be shaved bald. has done competition shooting and has very good aim. Got into BTOB bc he told the CEO of Cube that yeah he'll put in his best effort if he's in a group but getting dropped as a trainee wouldn't be the end of the world for him and that he could just go to college instead.
as a group: good friends with Apink (actually more like siblings with judging looks and a bit of roughhousing all the time), in fact they make friends everywhere and both Minhyuk and Eunkwang seem to be on a personal quest to adopt as many of the 4th gen babies that they can. Known for their very *loud* antics - literally can be heard through waiting room walls - and can be the most terrifying (and yet encouraging) mentors to have. But above all - they're all insane. And have a literal braincell vacuum if there's more than one in the same place. If you value your hearing, keep your hands on the volume controls.

Ascending ----- that's how i usually feel listening to Btob
4 of the 6 were on Kingdom. In this Killing Voice, the guys are standing in this order L to R: Minhyuk, Sungjae, Eunkwang, Hyunsik, Changsub, Peniel.
Kingdom had Minhyuk, Eunkwang, Changsub, and Peniel, but Changsub was missing for a few episodes. Eunkwang sung w/Jongho and Seungmin for Mayfly's vocal performance. Sungjae and Hyunsik were both in the military during Kingdom.
Sungjae is also an actor, if you've ever seen "Guardian: The Lonely and Great God" he's the nephew. BTOB debuted in 2012 as 7 (Ilhoon left the group in 2020, you can read up on that) and their fandom is called Melody.

BTOB has a really diverse style. They debuted as an all-rounder(they first trained as a band, practiced acapella, learned acrobatics). When they debuted, it had lots of choreo and dancing (fresh young boys). Songs like [Insane, Irresistible Lips, WOW(new jack swing genre), Thriller, Beep Beep, etc] Then they showed their vocal talents even more with ballad /slower songs. Songs like [Second Confession, The Winter's Tale (x-mas song), You can cry (x-mas song), IT'S OKAY, Way Back Home, Remember That]. I think now they found a balance and their own style, and really became an all-rounder group as they intended. BTOB Dance/FastTempo Songs are [ Pray-I'll Be Your Man, Movie, Show Your Love (BTOB4U Unit song), Outsider (BTOB4U unit song), WIND and WISH (most recent song)].
Then there are medium tempo BTOB Style songs, [Missing You, Only one for me, Beautiful Pain, The Song]--> all these were composed by HYUNSIK, the guy in the middle 4th from left. Great composer.
The genre you describe "up tempo, uplifting" is BTOB. They really built their own genre and actually became the genre. Because, I once watched a youtube video by composers and producers active in the field, and they said even themselves, amongst the composers they call it "Missing you style, or Only one for me- like style, or Beautiful Pain- like songs, or most likely BTOB like songs". Medium tempo, uplifting, positive, somewhat summery vibe in some of them, with a hint of longing or lingering feelings that make you smile, and keep smiling and enjoyable.
I am sorry it's bunch of un on sentences lol but it's cuz there's so much to say about them.
Oh and the songs that sound grand, I would like to call them a 'build-up songs' cuz of the instrumental build-ups in the background, when you realize the grand-ness of the the song, it is already built up and done. Some of these songs are [Someday, When it Rains(BTOB-Blue Unit), Finale:Our Concert, Finale: Show and Prove]
And my favs and feel good music [Show Your Love, Outsider, Dreamer, Blue Moon- Cinema Ver. (this is Kingdom version), Blooming Day, Heaven, Killing Me, The feeling, Love Drunk, Mirage, Cold, Guitar-stroke of love, Higher, Climax, Traveler, Call me etc...] omg there's so much.. some are overlaps FYI.
And BTOB is a group that sing LIVE all their performances. Because they are soooo bad at lip syncing. It's a MUST. You MUST watch their live performances.

Oh BTOB my beloved! Thank you for checking them out 💙 There were four of them in Kingdom actually: Peniel who you recognised, Changsub (the one next to Peniel), Eunkwang (the one in the blue shirt in the middle) and Minhyuk (the other rapper on the left side). The other two were in the military at the time. The one who said looks like an actor, Sungjae, is actually an actor. He was in Goblin, Reply 1994, mystic pop-u0 bar and many others. The one in the middle in white shirt with fantastic vocals is Hyunsik who made most of the songs heard in the video. I hope you dig deeper in their discography because btob songs are real gems!

i fell in love with btob from kingdom, you won’t regret buying their albums, they’re all no skip albums. btob is known as “healing-dols” because their music just makes you feel so good- i recommend listening with lyrics. they’re famous for their ballads but their discography is so diverse that they don’t fit in one particular genre. thanks for the reaction!
I had a strong suspicion you would like them, which is why I voted, aside from my own preference on the list. From having seen your reaction to them on Kingdom it was clear you were very taken by their vocals. By the way they layer their vocals. And by the instrumentation. So yeah...pretty good idea. Without kingdom I wouldn't have known them and that would have been a loss. Because I think they're awesome. And....such great people too.

BTOB is one of those groups, like B1A4, for whom imo it's best to just put on a whole album and listen from beginning to end. Not as much of the like, as you mentioned, intense hard or EDM sound that will kick your teeth in on a playlist but just...a nice, pleasant, satisfying listening experience.
I got the feel for that through the Killing Voice. It sounds like I could enjoy an entire album.

Im a fan of the older groups (EXO, Shinee, Monsta X, TVXQ) and now BTOB! Great sound. The younger rapper, Lee Minhyuk (just like Monsta X Minhyuk) (the TXT Soobin look a like) also does solo work under the name of Huta!

It is sad that Korean K-pop is known as idol-oriented music, and Korean music is now known as idol-singing music...There are so many different kinds of music and musicians in Korea, but I think K-pop music became stereotyped because they were not known..
