Kayaking the Pine River - Richland Center, WI - Steamboat Rock to Old Mill Pond Park - June 2023

Put-in at the dedicated Steamboat Rock Landing at the intersection of Highway 80 and SR. There is a dedicated floating launch dock and plenty of parking. Take-out at Old Mill Pond park at the dedicated launch dock.
The crew at ‘Pine River Paddle and Tube’ has done a wonderful job clearing the river of debris to ensure there is always a clear path. There is still a lot of debris in the river but it keeps the river in a natural setting and also adds some fun navigation while you paddle. The river has a nice little current to it but nothing that will get you in trouble with the logs in the river. The Pine River is a great place to get out and paddle, see some great geology, and yet is very convenient for paddling without big crowds.
For this trip, I used ‘Pine River Paddle and Tube’ for the shuttle. The cost was the cost for renting a kayak.
