I made this last night for the family and it was delicious!!!!! Reminded me of the BBQ shrimp from Dookey Chase in New Orleans!!!! 10 out of 10!!!!!!! THANK YOU!!!!
I was looking for a shrimp recipe and came accidentally to your video. To get some NOLA taste and feeling at home and is always the best. And for sure next time when we are there we will visiting your restaurant. Greetings from Germany
Made this last night and reminded me of home - N.O. Always so good. Please do some videos on redfish on the half shell, grilled redfish and bacon wrapped shrimp with jalepeno and would really like to get a recipe for seafood sauce that goes on top of fish etc. Really enjoy your videos. Keep them coming. Thanks
Cooked it twice now on the stove and it is deeeliiiciious! I'd say the trickiest part for stove-top is keeping the sauce from separating. I've had the butter and Worcestershire sauce separate on me twice now! But once I got by that it's sooo worth it!
I'm glad you enjoyed them. The key is to add the butter a slowly, and a little at a time. You also have to keep whisking it to help it from seperating.
So refreshing to see someone that "really knows" how to make New Orleans style BBQ shrimp ( no bbq sauce used) 🤣Man, when you used all that butter, and said heavy on the black pepper, that was all it took for me to know you were making the real deal!!! That is my absolute favorite way to eat shrimp. It just don't get any better and big props for doing that over coals and not breaking the butter! Excellent video brother!!! I'm sharing this one for sure!
Thank you for the great video well done 👍 my friend from Mississippi use to make this for all of us years ago and it was a huge hit I remembered most of the ingredients but had lost his moms recipe so wasn’t sure on the specific amounts hard to find shrimp around here with the heads on so hopefully the ones without will be fine I’m looking forward to making it this weekend
A long time ago I saw a documentary about food from New Orleans on german television. Since then I have been looking for a recipe for the shrimp to cook at home. Now I've finally found one.
OMG!!! I made this tonight and it was freakin incredible! I was so excited to eat it, I forgot to add the green onions! Oh well… Things I will do different next time, peel the shrimp, after adding the shrimp, only cook them on one side for a minute, turn them turn everything off, put in oven while plating. Serve! This way you will get all that marvelous sauce on the shrimp and not your fingers! Thank you so much for sharing this recipe. It was fabulous! ❤🦐❤
Just made this, came out great, but the sauce was fine but broke sometime after i flipped the shrimp in the last minute or so. Any tricks/advice to help prevent that? Lower the temp maybe? I was moving it around as much as I could, but bam, last second separated
It must be a spicy and/or spicy hot sauce there. I can’t tolerate really spicy/hot things. Is there any other way to make this with lots of flavor? Liking how well you teach this. And can I get the recipe if it isn’t so spicy/hot or if you have a recipe for me that has great flavor but not spicy/hot? Thanks tons, Retired Arts teacher~ L.
Are you using Grill Grates on your grill? If so I was wondering how using a pan on them performed. Recipe looks delicious. Is this an appetizer or main course. I have seen other recipes were it is served over rice.
Damn. That beer really kicked up the sauce. Could you have grilled the shrimp as you were making the sauce, then added it to the dish. Damn buddy, you definitely got some cooking chops. Awesome looking sauce. Restaurant quality for sure- Definitely will be making this as I love shrimp type recipes like this. Good stuff.
Thanks man. I've been following your channel for a while now, and love the videos. Great stuff. As far as grilling the shrimp ahead of time, I'm not sure it would add much to the dish because it's such a quick cook. I'd prefer as much cook time in the sauce as possible.
Great question. The answer that I got from Pascal's Manale, which invented the recipe, is that it's just what they decided to name it for no particular reason. During that time, bbq sauces weren't as popular as they are now, so the interpretation of what a possible "New Orleans" type bbq sauce could be was just an open idea. Thank you for the great question, and I learned a little something myself on it. I appreciate the support.
@@IamTyAdalis that might not be a bad idea. That's the awesome thing about recipes, you can make them however you like. I'm all for experimenting. I would suggest maybe just adding a little bit of the sauce the first time. Add more the 2nd time if you think it would be better.
That's a pretty standard amount of butter for barbecue shrimp. It makes plenty sauce to cook more shrimp in it if you want to. Thank you for watching, and providing feedback. Please feel free to ask any questions, anytime you want.

Thanks. I love it too, but don't make it enough. Even though I have access to fresh gulf shrimp any time that I want. Try it over some pasta as well.
