I play a pretty good amount and rarely come across any pets. I checked this video out ( 2 years late, I know) did the top 5 and in 2 runs I got 3 new pets. Big thanks man. Still works.

Do I have to quit the game everytime I find a goblin like you have to for the rainbow place?
dude i'm on season 22 and on the very last journey trying to get the greed's vault. i've been grinding for 2 weeks and couldn't still get shit. i even finish the guardian already and this greed mission is the only holding me back from getting my stash reward and the pet 😑
just tried it, 2 out 5 attempts both shards goblin, i need the greed vault one 😤
i only found 2 gold goblins
and found like 6 Menagerist goblins
i feel lucky and bamboozled at the same time
The rainbow goblin can also spawn in the Cellar of the Damned in New Tristram. I encountered one on my way to Weeping Hollow during Adventure Mode. Its easy to check before going to the listed routes.
Same goes for Old Fisherman's Cellar and Swampy Cellar, although all 3 cellars have low spawn rates for goblins.
Great video, Rhykker. As a bit of a math nerd, I appreciate the in depth analysis of the spawn rates to run speed ratio. You saved me some work and with a toddler, I can use all the time I get when I play.
I used two of your methods and ran them strictly as I was farming for pets . I ran with east and west channels and cave of the moon clan and then chose to do a couple of my own along with your methods , I ran northern and southern highlands . Got two pets back to back in the channels runs ,,, one in western and one in eastern . Got those on my second attempt tonight . Got many other gobs as well in these runs . Your methods work great and I will be using them . Four pets left to get and I'll have them all . Gonna use these runs for spawning Rainbow gobs too . It is efficient and I thank you for taking the time to share your knowledge with us Rhykker .

Just did a regular Nephalem run and got a frickin' ARMY of goblins in a field! Easily 50+ goblins! I never even knew that was possible!!!
Last night, the Nephalem rift I entered, happened to be a cow level..
Big D I encountered one like that. It started out with a few large goblins, and when I hit them they split into smaller ones, and then split into even smaller ones! What a whoopedy- doo that was!

Nice guide! I play on console and I’d like to add Blood Marsh to the list. It’s in Act 5 between Overgrown Ruins and Paths of the Drowned. Most people forget about it because it’s such a small area with no waypoint. If I find one goblin here there is usually a second one. With the double goblin buff for season 20, you usually get 4 goblins in this area.
@Rhykker, great guide! I don't know if anybody have mentioned that before, but when looking for Leoric's Passage, go in direction of fallen star carter, usually way point is on way to Catherdral lvl 3 after passing near to it, so going back means to find carter and go back to entry point. This speeds up even more in that area.

Your pet farming routes still seem to work here in 2022. Finished Season 25 and got bored so decided to research pet collection. Your video popped up. You are a SUPER statistician! Typed out a cheat sheet based on your data. Tried to screenshot and paste your stat table. Didn't work due to poor res. Transcribed it by hand. Had a great time doing all of this. Have put all your stats to work and have not been disappointed.
Great video as allways. Good guide, thanks for it! But I´m missing one thing there, Caverns of frost option - there is also chance to farm for Gibbering gemstone from Chilltara which is found only in Caverns of Frost (not icefalls caves). Which is used for Staff of Headring - entrance to Whimsyshire (Not Whimsydale)

Loved the video Rhykker! As much as I love getting quality information about the best places to go to farm stuff like goblins, I also love the fact that doing the top 5 locations over and over again along with the ones that used to be the best (like the Core of Arreat) can increase the chances of the less viable ones higher than it's base (Core of Arreat's 20% to an estimated 50%) is worth doing again. Thank you for the quality content, Rhykker! Whenever I need some good quality info I come here.
Rhykker, you are da man. Got two goblins and Greed's realm in the Western Channel first minute of my game. Playing hardcore Wizard for first time ever this helped immensely!

As I have been farming for a painfully long time, I'd like to suggest checking Cathedral 1 while going to Leoric's Passage anyway, as in almost full-clear it. I generally tend to find goblins there. Great video though, it was highly informative and hats off for that.

Thanks to you I got a build that got me over gr70 for the first time ever, and to finish the entire season for the first time (condemn crusader).I also like this video about goblin runs. I have a request though: Could you do a video about fun / strange /different builds that can keep the game fresh for the bunch of people thats not into pushing for highest rifts, gems, leaderboards etc?
Ive been searching for fun builds, but I keep finding best builds - not funniest / strangest. In my experience there are several fun builds. Ive had a lot of fun with exploding palm monk in the past, just blowing up entire screens. Lately Ive had fun with chicken run doctor and crack sader. Both are viable for us casuals, and can be used in multiplayer (in different roles). Ive also heard about shotgun thorns sader and I guess there are several hillarious builds out there, and you probably know them all.
I do all the spots you mentioned daily. Today I got 2 goblins from tower of the damned level 1 and 2. And 2 goblins from the eastern channel. As well as a goblin in the southern highlands. So for the first 5 runs I got 5 goblins.
Look at this guy, putting out new and practical content for a 6 year old game. Keep it up Rhykker!
I have had really good success goblin farming in The Weeping Hollow. Its not a big map so runs take very little time and can wield some great drop rates
There are actually 2 bounties for icefall caves to reduce it even further - one is a chest bounty. I found so many goblins (mostly blue gel) while farming Caverns of Frost for the whimsyshire staff component from Chilltara. No rainbows though. I don't remember any menagerists there either, but maybe. Ran it about 70 times.
Man i spent 80 hours total farming Cosmic wings and still didn't get them.. My soul ACHES

For future reference. Don't make the first thing you say about the first route you talk about be "these are not worth doing anymore." You simply could have never mentioned it and would have had the same effect. :D
not entirely true, its in there for refrence, as it used to be a good place, if he did not mention them many people would just say "lol your wrong, tower of the damn is better, you didn't even try that, lololololol"

Yep, 100% agree, as these used to be (some of) the best routes it's good he mentions them, it could have been done slightly quicker but I won't sweat losing 2 extra minutes of my life to that instead of 30 seconds ^^ I would argue he wastes more time explaining you're better off going for efficiency and spelling out that 4x1 min at 25% is better than 1x5min at 100% because basic maths >.>
i am glad you mentioned doing normal runs, I was watching and was going to ask until you mentioned it.i have lesser armors(goldwrap) that i will wear in case i get a vault and belt, i like money,i can handle T2 rifts solo so normal goblins should not be a problem

Added Act1 Cemertery of the forgotten (the 2 dungeons with 1 level, the 3 splits up, if it does that leave and enter another). And act 2 Beliel enter the sewers its a small area and fast to run and okay spawn rate imo.
In statistics a minimum sample size for reliable data is 30, so you don't necessarily have to go to 100, but 'technically' you need more than 21 too...
So when you say reset the game just close it out while in (whimsydale) & open the game back up ? I’m kinda new and I’m playing D3 now
It should be noted that in Panda 1 & 2, the pair of goblins can spawn almost on top of each other. So if you haven't found one half way through, don't quit. Finish the map.
I am no expert, Just started hunting 1 week ago, and i find 2-9 goblins every run.

No fucking way, I just got the wings! 18 hours after I posted.
After watching this video, I went to leorics passage, and just before entering, I found a green goblin with a bunch of crafting materials, and then entered the area and found the exact same goblin lol.

almost 100% vhance to get a goblin I have in the act4 where angelic wings are so if ur searching for wings you can farm for goblins there... thx Rhyker I use yoour guides when gearing up my characters

Another spot that ive thrown into my route is the blood marsh i tend to always find 2 goblins in that area
NWX skate 1 I get the same result. It’s a very small area so you can just redo it over and over again.
Act IV Garden of Hope level 1 is my fav goblin farming place. It's a short map that's the same every time, lots of stuff to break for speed, lots of shines to help make it faster, and a good chance of getting a Cursed Chest that may contain the Falcon Wings.
2 of the shrines are always in the same place, one in front of the waypoint the other in front of the door on the left side. The one at the door also has a chance of spawning as a Goblin Shrine which summons 1 goblin of each color except rainbow unfortunately, but it does give you Gold, Green and Blue. It is possible to get the Goblin Shrine and the random goblin spawned in the level at the same time.
But doesnt the difficulty effect how much stuff you get out of the whimsyshire mobs/presents/gold pots ect?
Yep! But it doesn't affect the drop chance of pets or the Cosmic Wings :) So if your motivation is loot, then difficulty matters. If you just want pets and wings, Normal difficulty :)
When I found the Cosmic Wings, I didn't know what I had. I had to be told what they were.

Thieves Guild and Plague Tunnels and Repository of Bones are analogues of Cave of the Moon Clan. One goblin instance (doubled in S14) per level. I think the devs reward the effort to find non-guarenteed dungeons.
Also, Highlands Cave in Northern Highlands/leoric's Hunting Grounds now can spawn a goblin instance. This is a couple of seasons old now. I think the devs move possible goblin spawning spots to keep interest in the game.
I once found a rainbow goblin at level 3 in the Ruins of Secheron on my way to collect the Kanai's Cube in Season. The imperial gems helped the levelling process immensely.
I actually run Cats:1-Pass-2--3, then Northern&Leoric, then RoyalCrypts, then Waterways(ALL)&Caldium Sewers, then ArreatCore&Keeps3(Ghom) as my top 5 and still find these odds...and if I get frisky I toss in Pandas1&2(A5), All Silver, Besieged, & Garden Tower Levels (A4), Battlefields-Bridge(w/frost caverns)-crossing (A3), and Halls1-2-3+Cursed Hold (A1). Works great and im at 300+ RBG Portals and climbing, still no wings but I taste em. BTW...the sewers of caldium is like a bad joke, 80% I find a goblin there its the pet gob...like it was collecting all the flushed pets from the world.

There is currently no area with a higher % drop rate for Menagerist goblin (or any other type). I recently did quite a few hours of pet grinding and I can HIGHLY recommend tower of the cursed/damned in act 3 and West/East channels from ancient waterways act 2 as they were far and away the best yield of goblins normally 3 or 4 per run total just from those areas. I also added in royal crypts, cave of moon clan, and core of arreat to my runs.
I've been to Wymsidale twice and both instances occured in adventure mode at Rakkis Crossing, in act 3

in cathedral 2 always check both paths in the first intersection from the wp instead of committing to one... the wp is always close to one of the exits. can help you save time

Leoric's passage I found a goblin from my 1st run lol thanks!
I typically get decent goblins spawn chance in cathedral levels 1-4...although yeah they take a bit of time BUT they're connected to Leoric's passage AND the Royal crypts so if you only focus on that run you'll get 3 to 4 goblins almost every time.
I know this is old, but I have 2 questions:
1: Does this still work in 2024?
2: Is this Adventure Mode, or can this be done while going through the campaign while leveling a new character, ie: I'm at level 52 right now.

This is for a teleporting tal wiz and I personally hate backtracking, so I stay in the smaller areas. Much more pleasant!
Core of A, waterway 1/2, royal crypt, southern highlands until you find cave of moon clan 1/2 and northern highlands.. then repeat.
Northern has a chance to spawn south side and north side goblin, moon clan has a chance to spawn in both areas, royal crypt is short and pretty high spawn rate, water ways 1/2 have chance to both spawn.
Last weekend I found 6 pet gobs in 3 hrs and i found one randomly this week. PSA: since there are double pet gobs, if you pick up the same pet, you can't get rid of it! You have to create a character, put pet on character and then delete that character.
During this time I have found approximately 6 rainbow goblins. 6 total packs of two, so six chances for wings.
Easy quick farm route and I do it on T13 and kill elite packs so I get legs too. Good route without a lot of searching big areas
Percentages aren't exactly accurate to be using here. It should be goblins/hr. Not only can you not have a "145% chance" of finding something (100% would be the max), it's still (likely) not a 100% chance every hour. Moreover, saying 145% doesn't mean you're averaging more than 1 per hour. The more accurate way would be to simply say 1.45/hr. The percentage chance of getting 1.45/hr has to do with standard deviations and confidence intervals which would require a lot of data to determine (and really wouldn't be worth it).

it doesn't
So far season 19 westmarch commons is playing out like pandemonium for me, if one spawns there there will be another one on the same map. Could just be my RNG but so far it's happened every time. Now having said this, it's not the best spot for goblins, but if you're doing bounties and run across one do yourself a favor a just explore the map to see if another spawns for you too.

After about 50 rainbow goblins this season I've about given up. Probably 300 since I started playing throughout various seasons and I've yet to find those dang wings.
I've played for years on Ps3 and never even encountered a single gobbling dropping pets. Never in a few years. Does it only work in reaper of souls?

In a way, I really hate these videos. Don't get me wrong here, they are very informative, Rhykker is nice to listen to and they're well made. But the way his characters just blitz through everything completely without effort, and the way it's just perfectly natural for Rhykker that they do, makes me feel like the biggest noob of the century ;)
Jonas W the way to gear up fastest is to play on a level where you clear your rifts in like 3-4 minutes. Don’t bother struggling and pushing.
Oh, and ofc, using a build and geat that is proven nice and effective really helps. I’m super casual, so icy-veins guides work for me.

Also, goblins spawn on the easiest difficulty the same as T13, so I bet you a Canadian coin he’s running on normal through T1

From my own experience if u will find goblin in Northern Highlands u can still find a second one in Hunting Grounds. N the same with Pandemonium 1 n 2. I found few times bouth of the goblins is same 'platform' on bouth of theyr ends.
