Jacket wiped out a whole ass police station, gunning down multiple law enforcement officials, including the chief, just to beat the shit out of a single dude, and he canonically doesn’t even kill him, Let that sink the fuck in
Well he probably would have engaged on civil conversation but if you come into a police station covered in blood with a chicken mask with no context that is really possible
@Aerial SR i mean the hotline miami ost is composed from a lot of pre existing music like roller mobster from carpenter brut so maybe that's why they're getting removed
Imagine the faces of cops on the top floor: >Your whole department was busy with the Mask murderer case, who gunned down entire Russian mafia single-handedly. It's not just killing defenseless hookers and hobos, like many pshychos do. It's killing armed men, who live via violence. >You finally catch him. And even though he is in a coma, your chief and other colleagues are already celebrating. >One day you get the news from the hospital - he's gone. Chief is flaming brimstone and fire, since instead of a promotion he's facing huge problems. Joint forces, consisting of your station, other stations and other agencies comb the city. >Evening rolls around. Everybody seem to come to terms with the disappointment. Chief came to terms that he would probably be pressed to write a resignation letter sometime in the future. One hour left till you can go home. You are getting to pack things in for today. >Suddenly a muffled bang is heard from down below. What was that? Was that at the first floor? A series of rapid bangs come not 5 seconds after. Are those gunshots? Another bangs. People start running. The radio suddenly spews: "We got an assault! I repeat, we have an assault at the station! An armed gunman!" >Shots never quiet down. After 5 minutes, that feel like eternity they only seem to grow in volume and in loudness. How come so many trained and armed cops not be able to handle one man? And then it dawns on you - it's him >A short pause, that lasts a bit longer than others and shots start blasting at YOUR floor level...
Tbf they probably didn't know he was 100% the guy behind the attacks on the mafia, Richter did not say anything while in custody, and they were waiting for Jacket to wake up so they can question him as well. Because if they 100% knew he was the masked murderer, they would have probably put more security guards in the hospital or put Jacket in a prison hospital.
Just got done beating assault for the first time. Awesome level. Had to hear this song again even though I heard it like 100 times from dying. Side note Jacket really laid siege to a police station to kill one man super badass.
My personal favorite track, feels a lot more subtle with its... "Groovy violence" and really has far more of a melancholy vibe to it, to me it emphasizes the idea that you'r taking lives here, you know?
Maybe it's just me but I think this song has very peculiar vibe in it. It's hard to explain. Like when you encountered something really heavy and you just bite the bullet and trying to overcome it. Can't get enough of this song, it's so fucking good.
Imagine someone killing your girlfriend and then putting you in a coma via bullet to the brain. I think the heavy vibe you're getting is revenge, and a little psycho...considering Jacket suddenly stopped caring about the life of a cop.
Jacket was living life pretty much like Travis Bickle from Taxi Driver, not really knowing what his purpose was, then she rescues the girl and starts caring about her only to lose her at the end. At that point Jacket feels like he has nothing to lose anymore and now will to care about the future. That's why he assaults a police station knowing that he will either die there on by the death sentence. The song sounds aggresive and even menacing but the backdrop melody is kinda sad and melancholic.
its when you are doing you know is wrong yet you do it. not because you are regretful, but because you really fucking have it out for someone and others will feel it too

Just finished the first and second game for the first time and I am hooked. So glad that there are still active fans for this almost ten-year-old game :)
The tone of this track fits perfectly with the level. This time you’re not killing Russian mobsters (criminals) because you were ordered to do so, you’re killing innocent people in order to fulfill your personal revenge on one single man. Damn!
wouldn't call them innocent. They would kill jacket immediately after he entered with no questions asked, even if he wasnt carrying a weapon. He could just be some random guy with a rubber mask for all they know so yeah theyre pretty terrible people
Very fitting song for each level. With Jacket facing a couple dozen cops to find the man that took away his loved one. To Biker marching in a HQ to hack and find the location of the people sending him to kill people.
But his soul is still here, poor dude didnt kill richter because he is not a psychopath who enjoys the shit he goes thru, he just wanted to know the truth and be free, but he ended up turning into chicken wings in a prison
@@efecik2859 because the van driver was a combination of 2 people he despised. Richter and Biker. Its a subtle reference so i understand if you might not have noticed it.
@@mftripz8445 I was also thinking that he would have different masks he could put on scattered across the map (He can see their auras and they are randomised.) Anything that was good in Hotline is sick backing for Insurgency Sandstorm. You can even start barebones knife or just a sidearm and scavenge primary weapons mid combat and it's actually quicker than reloading or switching to sidearms and you get that Hotline feel to it.
The metal detectors you pass trough sometimes in this level make a sound that perfectly fit with this music. I wonder if there's a version of this theme with those added in.
God they need to make a movie out of jackets story (since he never speaks) and include helmet hunting him down then a show about the events of hotline 2…my life would be complete if they pull it off without fucking it up.
Imagine being a police officer, you're chilling with your buddies but suddenly you see a guy with bloodstains on his jacket and wearing an animal mask threatening you with a baseball bat
I love how the music conveys that you're still somewhat "out of it" from your brain injuries, but it doesn't matter anymore. It doesn't matter that the people you're killing aren't Russians. You're a man with a plan, and nothing is going to come between you and your goal...lest they get soaked in their own blood. This song conveys an unstoppable force meeting immovable objects.
@ChillStormtrooper 2003 yeah man hearing this song kick in with “ASSAULT” appearing after getting your mask and jacket and getting in your car.. Absolutely perfect.
I was listening to random RUclips music that popped up while playing hearts of iron 4 as Italy after the new BBB update.
