We have had a surprising run of clear or partially clear nights and it's just cleared again now. In fact I've had more clear nights in the last 2 weeks here than in Spain!
Oh wow Logan, you're spoiled rotten with that location! Right next to the sea, sparse light pollution from nearby homes! What's not to love!? lol. Brilliant vid, thanks! The final image is beautiful! Well Done! BTW, I loved that tune you played from circa 3:00 minutes! Wes, Liverpool, England BORTLE 8-9
Thank you very much Wesley. Yes very spoilt to have this location for imaging and hoping it continues to stay around Bortle 2 to 3 for a while yet ( although bit's of farm land in the area keep getting sold off and 60 to 80 housing developments go in, so like everywhere, our beautiful skies are under threat). The song came as part of the video making software I use and is called Should Have Listened by Shima. Clear skies
Thanks Simon. I've been doing a lot more of this blending of versions recently until i get the combination that I feel happy with and Photoshop is great for this part. Clear skies.
@@LogansAstro I’m still learning with photoshop especially layers and masks, I mostly use camera raw under filter to finish up my Pixinsight work so it was great to see this in your clip. Cheers 🌌
Thank for turning me on to this region 😊 At 43 degrees north, it only gets a little above 30 degrees. When the moon leaves, I'm going to see what I can image.
Imaging objects low in the sky is always a bit of challenge, not just because of all the atmospheric junk in the way, but also because of the limited time an object is in the sky. But if it gets about 30degrees, hopefully you can get a good image ( assuming the weather plays ball of course). Clear skies.
Weather, moon, and I'm in bortle 8-9. Plus this region (south direction) is facing the brightest part of Milwaukee Wisconsin USA. I'll still give it a try. Full moon pretty much gives everyone a taste of my situation. Keep teasing us city dwellers.
We are lucky to see the Milky Way most of the year with it passing right overhead in the winter months. As a result, we don't have a 'galaxy season' down here like the northern hemisphere although there are some nebula 'down times' which is when we aim our telescopes at the LMC and SMC. Clear skies.
Excellent video Logan! Two lovely rigs there! I really should use my Redcat more🤦♂️ That Askar 65 is a lovely scope, I really like my Askar 400. Not at all jealous of your deck with a view🤣 Another cracking image, again not one I’ve seen before! You really do have it all down south mate! We’re coming into the light, you’re going into the dark! Great editing work with PS & Pix, and awesome Milkyway shots👍 Clear skies Logan!
Thanks Simon. I think this target is hiding in plain site, so to speak, being hidden by the flashiness of M16 next door taking all the attention. I really enjoy imaging up at Langs - those dark skies make such a big difference compared to imaging at home. Clear skies.
Thanks Dave. The 65PHQ is working great with the 2600mm. If I look very critically at the corners, three have perfectly round stars and one has just a tiny bit of elongation but isn't an issue really.
Do people pull music from a RUclips soundtrack catalog? Ugh. It does nothing to help the video. Lots of fill here. So with all of the color shifting here, what is the true end state or is it personal preference? Great images.
I guess not everyone enjoys music but we all have our personal likes and dislikes. My videos will often have music in them along with some B roll included so if that is not your thing, there are other astro channels with people largely talking to the camera about equipment etc that might be more what you are looking for. I do try to vary my videos, sometimes centered mostly on any techniques I used during processing, other times its about equipment and other times its about the actual target. For example, my recent video on the Homunculus nebula is about both the imaging/ processing techniques used and involves interesting facts/features about the target which you might like more....or not - but it does contain music and it does contain bits which I like to think of as comedy but you may find just silly so.... just a heads-up if you'd rather not. The end colour scheme/state of the image is really whatever you want it to be when imaging with a mono setup so yes, it's personal preference to a large extent. Clear skies.
Thanks Tich. I take quick Milky Way shots to post on the local facebook page up at Langs Beach to kinda try and promote the protection of the dark skies up there.... in the hope that the bach owners will.....TURN THOSE BLODDY LIGHTS OFF!!🤣
Nice image and video Logan, got some good tips as well.

Thanks Don. I hope I can image more often in this darker sky location in the future - such a huge difference compared to at home.

Wow how did you manage that many clear nights! I liked the croc eye, an interesting region.

Fantastic job Logan and an incredible image!
I love when processing is shown, you always learn new things!
Thanks and greetings from Argentina!
Thank you very much Adriana, I'm glad you found the video useful. Your comment is greatly appreciated. Clear skies.
Superb layer techniques there Logan to achieve a wonderful final image.
Might have to have a crack at this target some time!
Cheers Simon

another great video and lovely image Logan.
Thanks Jason. Gotta love imaging in the darker sky sites.
Wow, some stunning skies there Logan, those milky way shots were awesome for 10 seconds…and cracking images at the end too…👍🏻
Thanks Stuart. It's classified as Bortle 2 up there so the Milky Way is super bright on moonless nights.
Thank for turning me on to this region 😊

Great image Logan!! and a little scary🤣. Love the milky way shots as well. CS!
Thanks Luke. I'm not very good at Milky Way shots but being in Bortle 2-3 makes things easier.CS
Fantastic image Logan loved the milky way shots to mate clear skies
see reply below 😀
@@LogansAstro I think there must have been a glitch in the matrix as my comment came up twice 🤣
Must be nice to see/image milkyway from backyard.

Nebula are starting to rise early morning in the east here.
Great video Logan. Got some great colours there bud. Clear skies. Ps luckily i dont scare easily 😅
Cheers Rob. Haha yeah I'm not sure the face is that 'scary'... but it does look like a face so I'll give them that.

Great job Logan. How is the Askar 64PHQ working with the ASI2600mm ? Corner stars ok ?

Hannibal Lecter with the mask on. Imagine that with a larger aperture!
Haha yes definitely a Hannibal Lecter face. Hmmmm imaging it with the Meade.... now you've got me thinking.
