So what you saw just now in the shadow could be the soul of the lost comrade that lost in the battle. Glad you are safe cos last I heard there are female souls too.... Creepy AF! You should have brought along a puncture seal can with you. The abandoned area could be littered with nails or some sharp objects. Getting a flat tire on that area is the last thing you want. As for the cops, they usually don't bother Caucasian tourist. The big river you saw is actually a dam reservoir for a hydroelectric power station. Usually the abandoned buildings in other areas are occupied by vagrants, drug addicts or illegal immigrant. A good hideout and its rental free.
Oooo good question. I’d say the hotels are much more expensive than anywhere else, like double the cost, standard hotel was $60-70 aud here, everywhere else a standard hotel is like $30 aud. The food price is very similar, maybe only 10% more than other SEA places. So it’s definitely more pricy for sure. But still affordable. Hope that answers
