- We had a bad travel experience in Mexico. Join us for what was supposed to be a typical travel day, but turned into a nightmare. We were meant to fly from Merida to Oaxaca, but life had other plans. Then Dale got really sick.

I was as sick as dale when I visited Mexico City and watching this makes me have so much sympathy for him. I remember being weak, and struggling to travel, and having to cancel plans because of no energy. Poor guy.
Sorry to hear you went through that, it’s definitely not fun! And stressful when you have to cancel and change plans last minute, thanks for the sympathy and you’ll be glad to know I’m fully recovered by now 😂

Mex American went to Ensenada Mexico years ago. I took pains to not drink tap water wherever I travelled. At a gas station, I ordered a coke and without thinking, asked for ice. Big mistake. I was so sick for a couple of days. Every time I would try to get up from bed and walk around I would immediately have to rush to the bathroom. OMG it was terrible. Not the same issue as you had. Also had a similar issue in Greece. The Germans working there suggested suggested a mixture of lemon juice with coffee grinds. I drank it down and sure enough, felt better.
It’s ironic you say that because I (Izzie) am now sick after being given hot tap water instead of boiled water at a gas station! Dale is also sick from the veggies he ate there. Although, this is in Guatemala, not Mexico. Maybe we’ll try this lemon juice and coffee when we can stomach it!

Guy had food poisoning, shouldn't even have attempted to travel while that sick. Even if it was stomach flu, you would have given it to everyone on the bus and plane had you continued to travel. Felt bad for you guys, though.

Mexico is so normal for us Americans. Mexicans are wonderfully nice people. Brits seem so out of place in Mexico. Suerte y viva México.
Me too one time in Albania. I need to stop 6 times my car to vomit. Not good 😅

Should've taken him to "farmacias similares or farmacias del ahorro", normally these two pharmacies have pretty cheap doctor appointments throughout the day
That’s good to know and we have medical insurance anyway. But thankfully we didn’t need one 🙂
I was in his predicament the first time I went to mexico. My whole trip was ruined. I felt like i was dying.
I got food poisoning in Thailand when I was 11 right after falling and cutting my leg open so yh …… travellings great 😂
I would take him to a doctor.
If it had lasted longer I would have gone, but thankfully on the second day I started feeling better 😊
