Constance Demby is a classically trained artist performing since the age of 12.
The mid-eighties brought changes in recording technology with the advent of digitally sampled sounds; Demby embraced this electronic revolution to compose contemporary classical space music using a full range of symphonic instruments, pipe organ, and choral voices. Tapping into her spiritual guidance, she brought through Novus Magnificat -Through the Stargate, the album that many call the most important New Age recording of all time. This album, released in 1986, was one of the first releases on the Hearts of Space record label, and the one that received the most honors and comparisons to Classical Composers.
Since that time, Demby's primary instrument has become the symphony orchestra. The Kurzweil digital samplers, with their advanced technology and ability to portray all the colors of the orchestra, have become her keyboards of choice.
Kyrie is from her 2001 album: Sanctum Sanctuorum, sublime, symphonic sacred music with gregorian chant and ambient atmospheres.

Just a phrase...I'm a Christian and I translate in my mind "new age" or "space music" into spiritual images, images which are not necessarily "religious" images, but may also transcend those thoughts and images which are sometimes known as religious. Just words...God is above all definitions.

The Catholic mass used to sound like this especially the high mass. Your heart and soul would fly to the rafters. When they introduced English and guitars to the mass the magic was gone.

"Kyrie"...latin for "Lord"...sung for centuries about Jesus Christ, in worship of Him, and Him alone. Constance Demby does this wonderfully.
Kyrie is Greek for Lord. It is usually followed by eleison Greek for mercy. Hence, Kyrie Eleison, or Lord have mercy

I can listen to the music, no doubt it's very cool, I just saw her background though and she supports folks that reject who Christ is and what he did since she supports them. I understand what you're saying I think..I don't usually have any 'images in mind, like Kyrie is from the Roman Catholic persuasion . "new age' goes back to gnosticism if not the essenes, then becomes New Thought (1920s) now it's New Age..it's all repackaged..why can't folks just accept Him? It's not a religion.

Good question...why they don't accept Him...question of the ages. A reply might be "what constitutes accept?" It may be different for everyone. Remember, the evangelical and the Catholic method of "getting God" demand exclusivity in method, with attendant premises. Having had a lifetime in both traditions, I am convinced that relationship with God comes from God's direction, and conversely both of the mentioned traditions are tremendously flawed in idea sets. It begins and ends from and with God
I wish they would not call her music NEW AGE...there is different understandings of "new age', which is to say, there really is nothing new at all about 'new age', going back to at least 1000 BC,..
Agreed, unfortunately when I review her background, she rejects Christ for whom He really is, sad. since she support Marianne Williamson and Deepak who both reject the crucifixion. as a reality.

I really like her music, but unfortunately she's a new age hoax, not giving credit where credit is due, if she agrees with Deepak and Marianne WIlliamson..it's all this train of new age which isn't new age at all. she uses all these 'biblical terms' and doesn't even recognize who Christ is like Kyrie is a common name of an important prayer of Christian liturgy, also called the Kyrie eleison, but she rejects Christ...it's true and very disturbing.,
